I woke up in a bed that was definitely NOT mine. Looking around, I saw a door that was open, leading to a bathroom across the room. Peaking around the wall, I saw a small kitchen and table, then I saw the door that led outside my room. I was still in the clothes from yesterday, but my shoes were by the door. Then it hit me, I promised Bill I would be back by tomorrow! I scrambled out of bed, threw my shoes on, and almost threw the door off the hinges. I ran down the hall, not caring that I realized I was in a hotel, or that I may wake up other people. Running outside, I saw that I was at the hotel next to the library. Then ran home from there. I slammed the hatch opened and jumped, not even using the ladder.
"Sal! I was just about to go outside and look for you! Where were you?" Bill exclaimed.
"At.......hotel.......got........knocked out....." I panted, falling onto my stomach on the floor. I slowly got up and decided to just sit there.
"I was so scared, I thought you were dead! What if you got hurt? I would never forgive myself if I let that happen to you!" Tad cried, burying his face in my neck as I cradled him like a baby. I felt my shirt get wet as he started crying.
"I'm fine, nothing happened to me, I just got knocked out and woke up in a hotel room." I said soothingly.
'wouldn't be cradled if he fucked her.' Bill thought as he sat down on the ground with us.
'I heard that Bill!' I thought back and gave him a side glare. He stiffened in surprise, but then remembered thought back to last night.
"I want an explanation, now." Fate said monotonously as he stepped into the room. I gulped as I stood and walked over to him.
'Alva, new abilities, woke up in a hotel room but I wasn't violated in anyway.' I thought, hoping we had a strong enough connection so he could hear me.
"I see....." He trailed off, rubbing his chin.
"I suppose a mind connection could come in handy, but do you know the limits?" Fate asked.
"It can only work with people I have a strong connection with." I responded.
"Hmmmmmm....." Fate walked back into the boy's room.
"You can read minds!?" Tad exclaimed, jumping up from the floor. I nodded.
"Then what am I thinking of right now?" he asked, flashing a rare smile at me.
'she's never gonna guess blue, or maybe triangles. Oh whatever, I'll just say no to whatever she says.' he thought evilly. I'll admit, it would have been foolproof.
"First you thought of blue, then triangles, then you were just gonna say no to everything I guessed." I smirked victoriously.
"W-What!? N-No! That's c-crazy!" Tad gave a nervous laugh.
"Uh huh, sure." Bill said climbing up.
"I'll be at the training grounds if you need me." he called down before slamming the hatch shut.
"I-I'll g-g-go be with F-Fate if you n-need me." Tad stuttered as he closed the door to his room.
'Whelp, guess it's just me.' I close the door to my room and flop down on my bed. I spent the next few hours summoning random chains and shields, making patterns on the ceiling. Then Tad burst into my room.
"Sal! It's Fate!" he practically screamed. I jumped out of bed and got rid of all my magic, something was clearly wrong. We ran out of my room and up the hatch, I didn't even bother closing it. I sprinted past Tad to the training grounds where I saw Bill sitting next to Fate, and was he......crying? If Bill is crying, it's serious. I threw myself down on my knees next to Fate's laying form.
"W-What happened?" I choked out, and I hoped I didn't know the answer.
"H-He came out t-to watch m-me. T-Then he just d-dropped." Bill buried his head in his hands.
"Sal....." I heard Fate whisper faintly.
"Don't stress yourself, just tell me through your mind." I respond, placing a hand on his forehead, it was so cold.
'watch after my boys, even if they are a pain. They only knew their family for a month. It will be harder for you then them, but please, stay strong. The fate of the world is in your hands. I love yo-' his thoughts cut off. Fate, no, dad was dead. That was my breaking point. I burst into tears. One of the boys picked me up, probably Bill. I didn't care, I cried until I felt him place me down on my bed. I didn't want lunch, or dinner, I cried myself to sleep.
