"I'm to late." I murmur, stepping out onto the rubble, I crouch down, I pick up a blue amulet. I nearly fainted at the sight, I turn it over to see just what I was expecting, the letters 'DA' engraved into it.
"They were here." I stood, facing my brothers.
"Who?" Tad asked,
"The Alva." I responded, climbing back into the pod.
"I still don't get why they want us." Bill stated, following me.
"What is that thing, anyway?" Tad questioned.
"Dan's amulet." I answer, showing him the symbol. They gasp and I lower my hand.
"We have to find dad, he'll explain it to you." I said, pulling forward slowly.
"Keep your eyes pealed for any movement." I called behind me. We drove around for a while, I don't think they knew the real destruction of this village. The villagers were either taken as slaves or murdered, their bodies piled in various places among the various stones and scorched wood. A few embers still burned, probably from fire magic, a certain favorite of the Alva's. The attack must have been very recent, and the smell of burning flesh still lingered.
"We should go that way, I think I see the castle." Tad stated, pointing to the left.
"My god, your right! That's Fate's castle!" I yell, driving to it faster then before. I slam on the brakes and jump out of the ship, fearing for dad and what important information the Alva's stole.
"Dad! Dad!" I call, turning over every brick, I look over my shoulder to see Tad and Bill doing the same, just a little less frantically. I should probably calm myself down if I want to actually get anywhere. Then I heard a raspy voice call,
"S-S-Sal-l." I turn back around to see my father a few feet in front of me, covered in a blanket of stone.
"Fate!" I yell, rushing to help him. He was bruised head to foot, his white robes were tongue blotched with red and his long, white hair and beard were matted. I surrounded the air around us in a red glow, but a petter shade of red then the one that met dad's bruises.
"Fate, I found them." I cry, supporting his head in my arm, working my healing magic the best I can.
"I know you would, it was your fate." He chuckled, bringing his hand to my cheek. I leaned into it, feeling the new tender skin grow.
"You need to be more carful." I joke, helping him to his feet.
"Let me see my boys." Dad murmured, wobbling beside me.
"Is that really him?" Bill called, running up to us with Tad by his side. I noticed Bill changed from his formal wear into a yellow T-shirt, jeans, and golden tennis shoes. I don't know why or were, but he did.
"My boy, come here." Dad said, taking a few wobbly steps to Bill, cupping his face and looking him over.
"This is way better then some normal nursing home," Bill commented, turning to Tad.
"right?" he continued, expecting Tad to answer.
"I-It's a-a lot to take in." Tad stammered, focusing on the ground. I could sense that he was scared. I would be to if I met a strange man in an unreal place and was told by complete strangers you were related.
"Fear not, my son. It was only Fate that I would see you again." Dad and I laughed as he made another joke about his name. At least he was in high spirits.
"I'm sure you've already had you disputes with the Alva as well." He put his hand on Tad's shoulder. Tad picked his head up, a frightened look on his face.
"How did you know?" He asked, giving Dad a questioned look.
"I know everything." Dad smiled, turning to me.
"So does your sister." He continued I froze, shocked.
"I-I do?" I ask, looking too dad.
"I only showed you what you needed to find your brothers, although I hope it would have been sooner then the age of 18, even with all the help I gave you" He winked.
"You are far behind your training, I'm afraid. I don't have much to train you with, nobody does at that." He continued.
"Bill has reached his capacity. Ripping and stitching the universe, but not being able to stop it, right?" Fate asked Bill, he nodded. That left me and Bill. Dad turned to Tad.
"I believe Bill's power has been altered over the years. He can no longer do forcefields, but can do chains and daggers, a good mix if you ask me." Dad continued.
"No I can't, that is scientifically impossible!" Tad retorted, crossing his arms.
"After everything you saw, your questioning the impossible?" I ask him.
"I've never done that before, how do I know you guys aren't just pulling a prank on me?" Tad continued.
"If you really believed that, you wouldn't have followed me in the ship, or out of the party for that matter. Or you wouldn't be wanting to believe it right now, because it can give you a better life then being constantly treated like a servant!" I gasp at what came out of my mouth. How did I know that? I look at myself, making sure I'm still the same person. The worry was plastered on my face like a mask.
"You can only hide from you power for so long, It will eat inside you, until it escapes. Just like Sal beautifully displayed here." Dad said as he put an arm around my shoulder. Tad started at me with a look I couldn't recognize. He felt worried, betrayed, confused. But above all, scared.
"Tad, I'm so sorry." I apologized, stepping too him. Bill looked dumbfounded, darting his head between us to see the full picture. It was a funny sight, until I look back at Tad.
"How could you!?" He boomed, I noticed a blue aura forming around him. If what Fate said was true, then I was beyond screwed. I pushed Dad to the side with Bill
"How did you know!? " He continued. I could see small daggers forming a circle around him. I make two shields on each of my arms. I didn't want to hurt him, but I didn't want him to hurt me either. He threw a couple daggers at me. They disintegrated as they hit my red shields. I could see the scowl forming on his face , his eyes going more and more blue with a new-found electricity. He kept having more coming at me left and right, no pattern to be found like my previous opponents. My shields were starting to dictate, and one lone dagger slipped past my defenses. It dug into my shoulder faster then a speeding train. I screamed out in pain and agony. Almost instantly later, the entire atmosphere changed, the rubble revealed itself once again, Bill ran up to me and Dad to Tad. Bill picked me up in his arms and started to carry me closer to the others, as we got farther apart in battle.
"Oh my god." Tad said, kneeling on the ground a few feet away from me.
"What have I done?" he asked himself, starting to cry.
"You did well my son, you have learned to control your power. Sal will learn to control her tongue as well." Fate said, turning to me.606Please respect copyright.PENANAdqIrwqgRTV
"You all right, blabber mouth?" Bill asked, I give him a weak laugh.
"Shut up, I just need to sleep." and with that, I fell asleep in my little brother's arms.
