Austin, a university freshman, was a plain boy that did not attract anybody’s attention. Little of his classmates liked him, and he soon became unnoticed by mistresses and his peers. One day, it changed. He heard a cheerful laugh coming from behind. It turned out to be a good looking girl running past, along with her friends. His heart fluttered incredibly, his cheeks flushing into a bright red.

On the another hand, Khrissie turned out to be a member of Austin’s form. She was quite popular, thanks to her pretty face and nice characteristics. She got along with everyone, and no one seemed to dislike her. She was kindhearted, and soon noticed Austin, who was always sitting in the corner alone, being lonely.

One day, she approached Austin and asked to be his friend. Austin, who was surprised to be known by her, accepted the offer straight away. They had opposite characteristics- Austin was quiet, while Khrissie was chatty and outgoing. They came closer, and invited each other to their homes with their own friends. Austin liked Khrissie more and more, and started to notice Khrissie’s every movement. Khrissie did not realize any “special bonds “ between them, and enjoyed his company. Not long after they became friends, there were many rumors relating to them. Austin’s eyes looked at Khrissie differently every time this topic was brought up, but Khrissie did not bother to care, and continued to spend his time with Austin and his friends, Karson and Adrian. Khrissie felt at home with the boys, and those times she was carefree and happy.

Khrissie soon realized that Austin treated her differently from other girls, and started to open her ears to all sorts of stories of her and Austin. Actually, she also took a great liking to him, so Khrissie did not want to ask Austin the truth, in order not to spoil their friendship. This situation continued for a whole year, until Khrissie’s curiosity finally got to her.

She used up all her bravery and asked the question,” Austin, do you actually even like me?” There was a long awkward pause, and Khrissie’s lips trembled. Austin breathed deeply, and replied,” Well, this day has finally come. I do like you, Khrissie. I love you.” Khrissie was dumbstruck by Austin’s words. She listened quietly in shock. Oh why, why I have to ask him this question! I regret it! Austin, seeing her face, lowered his head and muttered a sorry hurriedly and ran off like a wind, leaving Khrissie alone in the classroom.

Throughout the night, Khrissie head was full of Austin’s voice. Should I accept him? She was so confused. Austin was also embarrassed about it and both of them avoided seeing each other so much. Khrissie made up her mind at last and confessed to Austin.” Austin, please forgive me, but I hope that we become strangers from this day on. I really don’t love you and please leave my life. Stay away from me, cause I don’t love you!” She screamed loudly. Austin was heartbroken when he heard all of this.

Their lives seemed to have not changed, still the same, but Khrissie soon felt lonely without him. She longed for Austin to be back at her side, though she knew that this would never ever happen. On the other side, Austin thought that Khrissie loathed his company, and stayed away from her, but still noticed her every move. But he was so wrong. Khrissie regretted her decisions and found out that she also liked him. But Austin, after a long time to adapt to this life without her, was finally fine. Khrissie started to want Austin notice her, but that never happened. She tried to befriend him again, he turned cool towards Khrissie. The worst things was, he liked another girl, called Alex .

There was a long time before they started to talk to each other, and they still had little occasional conversations after that, and Khrissie finally was relieved. She understood that Austin would never like her as before, and it was enough for them to keep simple contacts. She had to let this relationship slip away, cause it wasn’t hers anymore.
