The walk home was awkward and quiet, except for the occasional glances from me and apologies from Tad, when we finally reach the hatch, I turn to Tad.
"Are you sure your ok?" I ask, he gives a quick nod in response, I sigh.
"She didn't hurt you, did she?" I continue, he shakes his head, slightly messing up his hair.
"W-What did Dan ask you, when you left?" Tad looked up at my face, now looking like a fish out of water.
"Ummm... w-well you see.. Dan Alva... the heir to the family out to kill us... may or may not of asked me out." I stuttered.
"WHAT!?" Tad yelled, jumping up to his feet.
"That's kind of why I had you pretend to be my boyfriend." I stood, Tad gripped his hair and started pacing back and forth.
"He'll kill me....I'm dead.... goodbye world.... I stole Dan Alva's crush.... I'm dead...... she's my sister.... and now I'm dating-" I cut him off when I put a hand on his shoulder.
"It was just an excuse to leave." I smile, reassuring him. he smiled to, letting go of the chunks of hair.
"I love ya, little bro." I laugh, ruffling his hair. He frowns and goes to fix it, failing to hide the blush on his cheeks.
"As a brother." I playfully punch his arm. We go in and set the books down on the table. Fate puts a finger to his lips and points to the couch, were Bill is passed out amongst a pile of books and paper. I giggle at him and go into the fridge to find some food. Bill must've been practicing his magic because I could tell we had a lot more food then when I left. I put a yellow pepperoni pizza in the oven and go to the couch. Tad had retreated into his room with his books and Fate. So I was set to cleaning up the mess on the couch, I put the books back on the shelf of the TV stand and start to work on the papers. Laying them out on the coffee table, I move Bill's feet and sit at the end of the couch. After all of the papers are sorted and put into their correct folder, I put them in a stack on the coffee table. That's when I notice a stray piece of paper on the ground. I pick it up, only to realize it's the family tree.
First, their was Destiny Amiable, my grandma who married Karma Amiable, my grandpa. They gave birth to Fate Amiable, dad, and Doom Amiable, my uncle. Doom Alva married Luck Alva and gave birth to Dan and Mary Alva. Fate Amiable married Fortune Amiable and gave birth to Sal Amiable, then Bill and Tad Amiable after a few years, definitely fraternal twins. I hated the fact our small tree was cut down, but what do you expect when you name your kid 'Doom'? I sigh, turning to Bill. Oh how I wish dad didn't show him this. Bill groaned and stretched, almost kicking me in the face. He rubs his eyes and looks at the stack and then to me questioningly.
"Morning sleeping beauty." I giggle, sneakily putting the paper in my jeans pocket.
"What did ya learn?" I continue, walking to the other side of the room to take the pizza out of the oven.
"Just boring stuff, physics of magic, how the colors and powers reflect your personality. I fell asleep it was so boring!" He exclaimed, trowing his hand in the air lazily. I laugh, though inside I was overflowing with relief he didn't know we were related to our greatest enemy. Looking at the pizza, it was now a normal color, thankfully. Bill was suddenly behind me surrounded by his signature blue flame. I yelped, almost dropping the pizza.
"I can also teleport, because I can summon ANY object, or person, ANYWHERE." he continued, a smirk on his face.
"Don't get to cocky, Bill." I glared at him, walking past him in the small kitchen.
"I'm sure you'd love to see mine." he said smugly. I blushed enough to make a tomato jealous.
"N-No! Why would y-you say that! We are r-related!" I stuttered, putting the pizza down on the table and storming into my room, slamming the door behind me. I see Fate in my closet, rummaging through it. He jumped as I slammed the door.
"What are you doing?" I question, crossing my arms and glaring at him.
"Bill summoned a chicken in here while I was cleaning, I wanted to catch it before it did something weird." He said, holding a black rooster in his arm and closing the door with another. So that's what Bill meant by a.... oh he is so dead.
"Dinner's ready, so go eat. You'll need your energy when your teaching Tad tomorrow." I said, opening the door for him to leave my room. When I closed the door and stepped into the main room, Bill and Tad were sitting at the table, trying and failing to hold back their laughter as Fate made the rooster disappear. I glared at them both.
"I wouldn't be laughing, Bill Amiable, you have to train with me tomorrow." I snickered when his face paled. Tad just laughed harder.
"Try not to kill him, Sal." Fate murmured, serving the pizza. Tad wiped away his tears, going to eat his pizza.
"Are you gonna do the same 'escape plan' with Bill as you did with me?" Tad asked casually, a completely different attitude than he had before.
"Only if we have to, but I doubt we'll see the Alva again, Tad." I responded, turning my head to see Bill and Fate staring, mouth's agape.
"WHAT!?" Fate roared. Tad and Bill flinched back, never seeing Fate's real anger. However, I stood to be at his level, knowing it would pass eventually.
"The Alva had a small chat with us in the library, so Tad pretended to be my boyfriend so I wouldn't have to go out with Dan!" I responded with the same tone, but quieter.
"DAN ASKED YOU OUT!?" Bill interrupted, standing with us, Tad had now run into his room, which is what I wanted to do right now.
"HE DIDN'T KNOW WE WERE RELATED!" I retorted, losing my patience. My red aura started to crawl across the floor in a thick smoke.
"Wait, were related to the Alva?" Tad poked his head out of the doorframe. I froze, my aura disappeared along with the color of my face, realizing that I majorly screwed up. Our small family tree was about to be brutally hacked down.
