William was a very fast man, it took all we had to catch up to him and restraining him is proving to be no easier! However Nana handled this just like a pro, after managing to catch up to and corner him she was currently talking to him while I barricaded the door behind us, it was hard work but I did it. Lots of beds and all, hopefully it’ll hold from whatever tries to come in and attack us.
“Na-”
“Shhh shhh… Don’t worry William, that’s just Felix. You remember Felix right?”
“Fe-Felix… w-we had dinner together… With-..”
“Spiffy.”
“Spiffy… X… Y-Yes I-I can… I remember.” William seemed to be coming down from the fear that he was experiencing, he was breathing very heavily. Nana would look at him as she spoke once more.
“What do you need to help you William?”
“I-I don’t know… Please just… A hug maybe? I-”
“Absolutely… Felix. Come here please.” Walking over Nana helped William get up and stood in front of us, he was a big guy. We both went together and hugged him, holding him close to us. We could hear his heart slowly easing down and steadying. It took a few moments but soon I felt him hugging us, he seemed to be calming down. As he slowly relaxed Nana handed him the mask allowing him to breathe in the contents. He immediately pulled it off and began coughing as he looked around.
“Ack! Wh-Where?”
“A hospital, the next game.” Nana told him what he needed to know about our current situation and he was once again right on point and ready. Now all we have to do is-
KLINK TINK TINK!
Someone’s here?!
“Sorry sorry!” Looking towards the darkness I saw someone with a sack on their head, hiding their face and a girl was with him. She wore a black coat which covered her head and face, looking over they seemed much younger than the rest of us. Either still teenagers or just about to become adults? I couldn’t tell.153Please respect copyright.PENANAxXojF3KvKI
“Hello, my name is Eli and her name is Lari. We were just hiding in here from everything else.” Eli had an ax in his hand dripping a black liquid from it, looking over at us from the other side of the room with the girl standing behind him and making sure that we don’t make any sudden moves.
“Nana what do we do?” I asked her, she was the doctor. She probably was the most valuable person in this situation without a doubt. Though I couldn’t help but notice the girl was staring at me very hard, her eyes were dead set on me. Like… Like she’d either seen me before or that she is very afraid of me. I couldn’t put it together, I could only hope that this was just how she looked at people.
“I-I overheard your conversation, I mean well duh we were hiding here. You’re looking for a blue vial. I know where it is, I couldn’t touch it but it’s in the sub levels of this place. I can take you there as long as you promise to get us out of here.”
“Do you know where the exits are?”
“The front door is a lie, the only exit is in the sub level. Once you clear the toxins it should be free to be opened.” Eli told William, now we all had a plan. Now the next problem was getting to everyone else and getting down there.153Please respect copyright.PENANAx8OLEVIBsk
“Plans?”
I’ll watch our back, I’ll be able to handle those… Whatever those things are.”
“Very human looking dolls, they’re made of ceramic. So they break pretty easy from a hard enough blow or impact. Do you want the ax?”
“No, you seem to know what you’re doing kid. Keep it.” William walked to the door and began taking down some of my barricades, breaking some of the beds. He made pipes and blunt objects for us from the metal and we armed ourselves. Grabbing a leg of a hospital bed William barged through the door and we went in swinging with all our might. We hit them as hard as we could, beating them, breaking open their heads and running. William was in front, Eli, Lari, and Nana were in between us and I stood in the back. As much as I hoped someone would be a guardian for me I had to be one for them. As we reached the end of the hallway we turned to the left and found the staircase.
“I’ll check it.” William told us before slowly opening the door. I kept an eye on our rear to make sure nothing was chasing after us. I could see them down the hall, scampering and running around on all fours, turning and contorting their bodies as they moved.
“What do you see?” Eli asked, holding his ax tight.
“It’s dimly lit but it’s just enough for us to have better visibility. Once we get down to the first floor we’ll be in a better position to get us out of here.”
“That sounds good.” Walking down these stairs is terrifying, anything could happen. Every time we turn down we have to hope nothing is at the door waiting for us. We went down further and further and further until we finally made it to the first floor. Exiting it we saw the hospital in as much disarray as before. Nana was clearly affected by this but she didn’t speak on it. I gave her a gentle hug an-153Please respect copyright.PENANAAeOOqwMFIN
“O-Oh I’m sorry Nana, I was just- you looked sad and-”
“No no, you’re alright Felix. Thank you.” Nana hugged me tightly and pressed her face into my chest, holding the hug for a while. I-I think I’m blushing?
“Awww.” Right. Everyone else was here. Eli smiled at us and began to step out with William and brought Lari with him. Walking out we’d all begin walking and-
