“Run! Keep going!!” I heard Adam shout from close by causing Nana, The Mercenary and myself to break off in a sprint towards their voices to try and help.
“I-gah!” I felt a fierce pull and heard Nana shriek. I fell hard on the floor seeing The Mercenary looking out of a window. Seems he grabbed us and yanked us inside this…bakery?? It didn’t matter.

“Shhhh.” The Mercenary hushed us. But why??

“Look.” I pointed out the window to try and make sure they understood the situation well. Adam was running as fast as he could with a limp. Clearly injured heavily which is perfect bait. Nana tried to jump out to his rescue but I grabbed her and held her down.
“What are you doing?! Why are you stopping me?!”
“AAAAAAAAH!!!” Adam let out a bloodcurdling scream as he hit the floor with five slashes in his back. In seconds what I had noticed made itself known. A man made his presence known as he loomed over Adam. He wasn’t human. No human I knew was capable of invisibility like he was. As badly as they wanted to help him. Adam was a goner and that was just the way it-

“You idiot!” I shoved Nana down and grabbed the gun out of her hand. I forgot I gave her it… No. I just didn’t want to believe she’d be so stupid as to try and save a lost cause.
CRASH!!
“Shit!” I dove out of the way tackling Felix down as the window exploded glass. I didn’t feel glass shards in my body even though I shielded them. It felt hot. Like I was branded! Damn it! I quickly pulled Nana and Felix up and shoved them forward, running away with them. As I feared he was behind us now. The tall man moved in an unnatural way throughout this bakery. He didn’t even walk due to how tall he was, he was like a serpent, slithering through the halls and slashing at us. He broke things and caused the building's foundation to weaken further.
BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM! CRASH! BLAM BLAM BLAM!
I fired the last seven shots in the gun at him but nothing hit him and if it did he didn’t show it. Suddenly things began to get screwed up. His body was glitching like TV static. Like he wasn’t real. What the hell did I get myself into…
“Hehehehehehehehehehehehahahahahahahahahahahaha!” He laughed and cackled in what I could only describe as a twisted pleasure. Swinging at me I only could see the flash of metal before something else broke and he tried again. I kicked him in the jaw which made him stagger back but he just kept laughing.
“Damn!” He swung at me so suddenly I lost my footing and fell over the counter. He quickly pursued me and reached down at me to attack.

“Leave him alone!!” Something was off with Felix, he wasn’t himself, he was being too brave, too bold. The Man raised a hand and swung down at Felix who snapped a picture at him and caused him to screech out something unholy. This thing was not human. I hopped the counter grabbing Felix and yanking him as I ran down the hallway. Felix’s eyes were different. They seemed. Empty. Soon he pulled his arm away from me and smiled looking back as the tall man was rushing through the hallways in a ghastly manner, elongating his limbs to close distance faster. Just then Felix opened his hands and then.

“What’re you-” Gas. It was Gas! I pulled Fleix towards the exit as he tossed the lighter inside and then the entire place exploded with the man inside. We watched and ran but suddenly we woke up. Nothing was making sense. I looked around and noticed we were all together and so was the cop. He was bleeding a lot. His armor had three massive puncture wounds and he was slouched on the floor trying to catch his breath.
“You’re awake…good…I need someone to understand this.”
“What the hell happened to you?”
“There’s two of them…the water one and a man made of static or something… Seems he makes illusions and pretty good ones when you look at him.” Officer Scott stood up and walked over checking on everyone.
“His dreams are more effective on those with more baggage and softer frailer minds..”

“Now how the hell did you get all of us wherever we are without dying or getting caught.”
“With help. Believe it or not. Adam, Xavier, and Amanda all just fell asleep. Seems he can choose when to shut someone down and my guess is he’s close…” Officer Scott grunted in pain and began to slouch again. “So what can we do?”
“Wait. All we can do is wait. Is that what you were about to say?” I turned in a swift motion aiming the gun at the darkness only to see a man walking out of the dark.
“I’d suggest not shooting that. We’ll all die if you… Being that you’re a survivalist I doubt you’ll pull the trigger.” The man wore a white long sleeved shirt, some blue baggy pants, and had no shoes on…weird.
“Who are you?”
“Call me X. I’m here to help, we all should do that if we want to live.” This man X walked over to everyone and began to check their pulses. He then pulled a bottle out of his pocket and poured water on Nana’s face causing her to jump awake in a panic, almost hitting him. He fell backwards onto the wet floors as Nana stood up shaking and taking out a small handkerchief whipping her face. We all quickly began to sign trying to keep her quiet and thankfully she took the hint.
“What. Was. That?” She asked in a shaky voice.

“Lay down… Unless you want to bleed out and die.” I kept my gun trained on Scott as he poured the water on Scott’s wounds which instantly began to heal. However it wasn’t pretty the holes gruesomely clenched together and Scott was in visible agony but only for a couple seconds.
“How do you know all of this? Talk.”
“Gladly.”
