"Umm...here." I said, unfolding the paper out on the table. Tad slowly walked out and examined it, brow furrowed in confusion. Bill also looked, but a little more shocked. Fate and I stood with expressionless faces.
"Why would he ask you out if we're related?" Bill questioned, turning to me.
"Dan didn't know, he thinks the three of us are dead, and has seen me more than once before in this..." I trailed off, Fate seemed pleased by telling them.
"I just don't understand, why?" Tad asked, examining the tree closely.
"I wish I knew, son." Fate sighed.
"I'll let you guys sleep on it." I said as I went into my room. I could hear Fate murmur something before the door to Tad and Bill's room closed. I always wondered what Fate did at night, but I got my answer when I heard the TV turn on. That is the last thing I hear before falling into a dreamless sleep.
When I woke up, I went into my closet and put on black leggings and flats, and a red flannel shirt. Then went into the main room, Bill was with Fate trying to make normal cereal, but it would always end up going everywhere. Bill had on black jeans and shoes, with a yellow t-shirt. Then Bill summoned the milk on top of his head.
"Oh come on!" Bill yelled, clearly frustrated. Fate sighed.
"You'll get it eventually, your new powers are very different from before." Fate responded, trying to comfort him.
"Someone throwing a tantrum?" I asked, walking up to the two. Bill pouted and crossed his arms, like a big baby.
"No!" he exclaimed.
"Morning everyone!" Tad called, exiting his room with blue jeans, white sneakers, and a navy blue sweater. He froze when he saw the mess.
"Wow, what happened here?" he asked.
"Bill had a temper tantrum." I responded casually.
"I did not! I was practicing my magic when the milk poured on my head! Not my fault at all!" Everyone, except Bill, laughed uncontrollably. After we all settled down, we continued to eat whatever cereal survived in silence. When we finished, Tad and Fate went to get the books, and Bill and I went out the hatch into the cool morning air.
"So am I gonna be your boyfriend as well?" Bill asked, walking beside me.
"No, you'll be my brother. It would be weird to have a new boyfriend overnight." I respond nonchalantly. Bill whined, but nodded in agreement.
"Fine....." he sighed. I couldn't help but smirk at the fact he WANTED to pretend he was dating his sister. After that, it was basically what me and Tad did, practicing in random stores and streets. We kept walking until we got to the only theater.
"Let's watch a movie!" Bill exclaimed.
"Why? You know what we have to do." I questioned.
"I could practice while we watch the movie, and it'll be dark." He responded, I sigh in defeat, then I'm practically dragged into the theater, I didn't even get to see what movie he bought tickets for, but I did see him secretly make a wallet appear. The movie started in 30 min., so we decided to chill in the arcade while we waited. Of course, Bill never ran out of tokens. By the time I was finished with mine, the movie was about to start. I dragged him in and we got seats in the very back row. We watched some corny action show for about an hour, before Bill started getting out of hand dumping popcorn and soda on people. When the movie was finally over, we were practically the only ones that didn't look like a complete mess. Me and Bill laugh as we walk out of the theater, getting a few weird glances from some of the workers. As we walk outside, it was starting to get dark.
"Lets go home for dinner." I request to Bill, he nods in agreement.
"Sounds like a good idea." He responds. We walk down the street as the sun sets in silence, I don't know if Bill felt it, but I had a funny feeling. It was the same feeling I had at the library, but stronger. I try to shrug it off because Bill seemed to be acting natural. At least thats what I thought until he grabbed my wrist and ducked down an alleyway.
"Do you feel that, Sal?" Bill whispered to me, I nod.
"What is it?" he asked, a little fear in his voice. Despite how he acted, his voice revealed he was definitely afraid. I heard two sets of footprints coming closer. With my back in his chest, I push us both back further into the alleyway. I knew he was blushing, but I could care less about the position we were in, considering I now knew exactly who was around that corner. The footprints stopped, revealing two silhouettes in the moonlight. Although I couldn't see their features, the Alva twins were definitely making their presence known. That feeling Bill and I have I now recognize as their magic, we can feel it.
