Daniella Grace and her husband trailed behind her eleven year old daughter Stephanie as she examined every bit of the resort room. A man who worked for the resort showed them the way. They were going to be in Thailand for two weeks, Stephanie's school just ended for the summer. It was kind of like a tradition where Daniella would take her daughter to Thailand every year. They came so much that they each had their own friends.
"Mom! Look at that amazing view!" Daniella turned to see her daughter climbing on stop of a sofa to look out the window. And she was right, she watched the crash against the surf. But the most serene part was the way the sun glittered against the sea.
She took a seat the sofa with her camera and took several pictures and smiled, "It is gorgeous baby."
She studied her daughter, her short brown hair went to her chin and matched her brown eyes. She always looked younger than her age. She looked just like her father, her new husband, Craig wasn't Stephanie's biological father. Stephanie still wasn't used to Craig, but she was making progress.
"I'm gonna go unpack," Stephanie said running into another room.
Craig took a seat next her and kissed her, "She seems happy here."
"She loves the people, she knows how to speak Thai."
"Maybe this will be a bonding time between me and her?"
"Craig, it will take some time, she hasn't seen her real father in years. I think she still remembers him."
"Do you ever consider letting them get to know each other?"
Daniella sighed, "Sometimes, Josiah knew about Stephanie was in the picture for a while, he liked being a father. But in the end he couldn't take the responsible side of being a parent."
She remembered when she met Josiah, she was head over heals for him. When she found out she was pregnant with Stephanie he couldn't have been more happy. He was the best father Stephanie could ever ask for. But since his basketball career was starting up he was constantly gone and it seemed like Daniella was a single mother.
Daniella finally had enough of it, he understood her frustration but she was getting tired of the busy lifestyle. He had begged her to stay but she had enough of it all, when Stephanie was four when Daniella and Stephanie left Denver and moved to Pueblo, Colorado.
Yes, she kept in contact with him every once in a while. But honestly she wasn't sure if she was willing to give him a chance. Yes, he had changed, found God and acted like a christian. He even had a daughter now, but that didn't mean that things have changed with Stephanie. Stephanie didn't deserve that kind of pain that having Josiah as a father she would be bound to experience.
Stephanie came back interrupting her thoughts by wearing a swimsuit and slipping on a cover while lighting up a smile that lit the room, "Can we head to the beach? I wanna see if Kulap is there."
