Chapter XVII: The Premonitions
One night, Asahi sleeps cozy in his bed after doing some work on the server in Accord. In his dream, he walks through the hallway of the mall, looking at his phone, wearing a headphone. He notices something so he stops in front of the love corner. He finds Akiko and Kota kissing, lips-to-lips. Akiko wearing a Haori jacket as well as Kota wearing the same Half-Haori jacket in which is from My Sister is a Demon. The characters who wear those are one of the best ranked couples in the series. Akiko has purple hair as usual but short, wearing a sundress underneath the jacket, while Kota has blue and longer hair, and whose hairstyle is of a character from Avenge of the Titan, obsessed with cleaning. Both of which are wearing the same branded shoes which are customized, have earrings with the letter M which can be either Kota's surname or the name of the character from Shinigami's Paper, matured bodies, and have a tattoo which are dates and it can be their birthdays, however they are different years.
On Akiko, it is 2025 while Kota is 2023. After they kiss, Kota takes off his jacket and reveals to be wearing a white polo with a pocket in front of it, a sling bag of the same brand as the shoes, and jeans that have holes in it. Asahi looks at his phone and sees the date which is May 25, 2025, 12:43pm. A moment later, Kota says to her,
"Our Love is not Temporary"
They then hug each other. After that, Asahi continues his way deeper to the mall and bumps into a girl, holding rings that has the letter A on it, either it is Asahi's name or both of them. Asahi then wakes up from this. He didn't bother Kota to tell this so he spends the day streaming in Accord again.
Another night after exhausting his eyes on the computer, Asahi takes a nap again and dreams again. This time, it takes place in Kota's house which has modernized. Kota is staring at him nervously, and other guests are at the dining room. He looks at his phone again, and it is apparently Kota's birthday. He then goes to the window, and sees a girl in the same jacket as Akiko back in his other dream going through the gate. The girl looks familiar to him which also looks like Akiko. After waking up from all of this, he needs to tell Kota about this. He calls Kota and once Kota gets it, he soon narrates the 2 dreams to him. Kota accepts it and he hypothesize that:
1) According to a famous neurologist and psychoanalyst in the 1930s, dreams have a meaning. If a person appears in your dream, you may have unfinished business with him/her.
2) Dreams can be the window or illustration of another universe/dimension.
However, the most generalized idea he got is the dream may happen or not in real life, it depends on destiny. Kota also shares with him that back in December, he had a dream. When he opens his eyes, he finds himself on a bamboo bed, viewing a beautiful wisteria covered forest. He hears a familiar voice and when he looks to his left, he finds Akiko letting him use her lap as a pillow. She comforts him about life and teases him. At that time, he tried not to think of Akiko however, that happened in his dream.
Kota opens up to Asahi that he wants to say something to Akiko aside from what he'd said back then in the VC. Asahi suggest that he can create another VC call, good for three people, and tells him that he can say it there. Kota plans this by saying it like in the Third person until Akiko will realize that Typhoon is Kota. Asahi suggests that it's better in person to say it. Kota approves it and later plans about this.
The school year already ended back in July and turns out that Akiko was demoted to Class 3-B. Kota doesn't know this but during their call, Asahi tells him about it. Kota feels bad about this so he then adds something to his message. He thinks,
"If you're reading this, please be in a free-space time. I might say, you're the most valuable member of the group. I know you have hard times in gaining the information needed for the study, as well as to be forced to encode fast, and I terribly felt sorry. I know we have hard times knowing each other again and to talk. Look, I get it that you really move on too fast, but the promises in the conversation are lost. Sometimes in our life, something is above and something is below. Age do grow, as the brain should too. But sometimes in our life, we find ourselves lost in time. I may have done malicious and bad things to you, and factually I regret it mostly enough. I didn't understand myself as to like a revolutionary man would say, "We have bigger enemies than our opponents and it is ourselves". I may be lovey-dovey in the past 2 years but I want you to understand that I didn't know what I was doing at those times."
"It's hard for me to understand the relativity of things such as the memes and mostly anime because I wasn't purely matured at that unconsciously time. I regret all gifts except for the ones that is most memorable to you especially the key, which embodies your name. You only wanted to be friends, and yet I still screwed it up."
After thinking for and self-reflecting for 5 minutes while Asahi is playing chair wars on Craftsburg, He tells him that he will explain the details of the plan on some other day.
"Not all premonitions are true.
They may come out anytime, and sometimes with a different outcome."
