Chapter XVIII: Love is War, Part 1
The next day, it's Tuesday, Kota lays out the plan. Asahi will asks Akiko on a hangout together with him but under the name Typhoon. Once getting the approval, the plan will go either smooth or cold. Asahi and Akiko will go first inside the coffeeshop. Kota will then go but wearing the Half-Haori jacket which is also Typhoon's profile pic in Accord. Once he will arrive at the table, he'll pull down his hoodie and say the iconic line of the character from My Sister is a Demon, Asahi will go to the toilet then Kota will say it. The outcome may be negative or positive, at least he will let it all out. He also added that they will survey the place and review the prices of the drinks that Kota will be getting them and so that he may not be broke after buying them the drinks.
Going out the next day, Kota is preparing everything for the inspection. A tremor erupts and breaks for a while but suddenly intensifies which the ground felt like water. A third of a minute later, it stops. It turns out that geologically, a fault moved near them. There are several buildings damaged especially heritage buildings. This also causes Kota to reschedule their planned hangout. Kota's phone rings and he picks it up. It turns out that Masashi texted him. He knows about their plan since he also needs advice from another guy. 2 month before their graduation, Masashi confessed to a girl he liked in school which was also the result of the Truth or Dare that they played in a cafe, together with Enmei, and Toshiro. The dare was to confess to his crush the following day. The following day, he confesses but got rejected afterwards. However instead of being very down, he was happy and accepts it and proclaims that he's free. Back to the present, Masashi tells him that the universe or God hates him since it is still the beginning of the planning strategy but danger strikes. He also suggest to Kota that maybe if the latter and Akiko might date, there might be another strong earthquake that will happen. Kota says that maybe the quake just coincided with that.
A few days later and still experiencing mild aftershocks, while browsing on his computer about some old places, Kota begins to think about her again. Coincidentally, a thunderstorm erupts and this is where he notices that Masashi may be right about this. As he sleeps, he tries not to think about her but he ends up in a dream with her whispering seductively to his ear. He suddenly wakes up from this. He then thinks to himself,
"Why is this very hard? I know that the universe may have other plans but I only wanted to seal the gap and the only non-violent solution is to talk it out."
