Chapter V: The Comforter
One day in January, in the faculty, a student reports something to a teacher about Kota breaking one of the school rules and other unjust doings. The student steps into the light and reveals to be Enmei. In the classroom, Kota is talking to the Brotubers about memes and the number 1 youtuber again and in the distance, steps can be heard outside the corridor and Enmei comes into the classroom and he apologizes to Kota for being late and the latter tells him that it's okay.
As Kota arrives, his mother wants to talk to him. They go to the living room for privacy. She then tells her that he was doing unjust things in the campus. Kota asks her to whom did she get this information. She said that it was one of the friend teacher of hers. Kota is then down in the dumps for all of this because he doesn't want her parents to be disappointed of him. Akiko texts her what's up and little by little, Kota opens up to her about his predicament. She then tells him that depression is really bad, and wonders where is the Kota that she knows, and not the depressive but the happy one. Due to this, Akiko has an idea and suggests a hangout on Friday in the afternoon since there will be no class in the afternoon. Kota agrees to this and they will meet up at the fountain at 1:00pm.
Exactly on Friday, Kota arrives at the fountain and as he wonders where Akiko would be, he walks left of the fountain and as soon as he looks in front of him, Akiko is standing there. Kota awkwardly asks her where will they go, and Akiko grabs his arm and they rush to the mall. There, they go inside the bookstore to find some interesting books as well as school supplies. At the bookstore, Akiko have a look on a gaming guide for Craftsburg. In his mind, Kota knows little about the game, though he didn't want to go to the hard part of the game since he already tried it where he died multiple times. He smiles back and acts like he knows it.
Then, they walk to the folder department where she canvases for brown envelops to organize some files. Kota then opens up that everything she said in the chat, will be a promise that although might be broken, he will always be by her side and love her. Tears in her eyes, Akiko hugs Kota firmly. Kota didn't expect that this would happen, however he also hugs her firmly. After getting the things, they go to the counter. Kota thinks of sharing one receipt like what he always does with the boys but fate opposes because it's separate receipts. Then, they go to the stalls beside the mall and Akiko sees something that she wants the substitute teacher to have so she buys it and she tells it Kota. After buying, they go to a park near the mall and before she goes off, Akiko whispers something to Kota's ears and kisses him. Akiko smiles at him and Kota smiles and wave goodbye to each other.
