"What!!!!"
I looked at those messages and then at Maya whose face was as pale as a corpse. She was hugging her legs and sobbing, repeating the word sorry over and over again. It was hard not to feel sorry for her, despite all the petty cruel things she did behind my back. I was more convinced than ever that it was not her that left me to die.
The next morning I walked Maya to school. On the way a voice hailed her.
"Are you ok?" 504Please respect copyright.PENANAmWS3DdF2Nh
Adrian was one of my friends who gradually drifted away after my problems with Mathew. I remember how much it stung because he was a genuinely nice person who never said a harsh word to anyone. Not that he said any spiteful things to me when he decided he no longer wanted to be friends...504Please respect copyright.PENANAJRLQq4q4Le
"I mean...After everything that happened..." He walked upto her, his kind eyes meeting her's.504Please respect copyright.PENANAlE2H0ksedC
"I guess I deserved what I got." Maya said quietly. I could feel how desperately she was trying to hold it together.504Please respect copyright.PENANAaPYLPG2gRY

"Not many people stab their best friend in the back. What I did to her was unforgivable. I saw how heartbroken she was. I saw she was getting more depressed day by day. Yet I did nothing Adrian...I even didn't let her see Mathew's apology..."504Please respect copyright.PENANAItvNDO3EWJ
"He was a damn coward to not tell sorry to her face."504Please respect copyright.PENANAU5YsdOmMCM
"And I was a horrible..."504Please respect copyright.PENANAkwIvj34WsA
"Everyone treated her horribly. Even me..."
"You?"
Adrian sighed. "Forget I said that."
"I don't remember you treating anyone horribly." Maya smiled a little. You were always the perfect gentleman."
Adrian didn't smile back. If anything he looked miserable. Confused, I tried to remember the last time we spoke.
