Alex sat on a hill watching the sunset in silence as Dove trudged up the hill to join him, Dove sat down and stared at the beautiful hues in the sky.
"Gorgeous isn't it? “Alex said quietly, Dove smiled.
"It's been a while since I last saw a sunset, so yes…" he replied, Alex frowned.
"What was it like being stuck in that stone for years on end? " Alex asked, Dove frowned and fidgeted with his hands.
"Dark...scary...straining in so many ways…" he said, Alex stared at him and hugged him tightly.
Dove blinked in shock "I'm sorry you had to go through that" he said, Dove hesitated but hugged Alex back.
"It wasn't too bad… just lonely" he said, Alex pulled away and looked at the sky in front of them. Dove eyed Alex with a small smile.
"It would still suck… Being alone for 12 years" he said, Dove shrugged.
"Maybe… I guess it just didn't phase me, I'm always so used to being alone" he said, Dove said with a small frown.
Alex looked at his hands thinking of the time he sat on a hill and sang to Ren.
"What did you mean by the kingdom won't agree… " he asked, Dove flinched.
"Sorry?"
"Earlier you said that the kingdom wouldn't agree with us… " he trailed off, Dove sighed and leaned back on the grass.
"Oceannia is still stuck in old times… old times as in arranged marriages and opposite sex relationships… years before our kingdom would kill people who were- gay… whether they were in charge or not" he explained, Alex stared and tears threatened his eyes.
He buried his face in his knees and let the tears fall, Dove frowned and sat up pulling Alex into a tight hug.
"Shhhh~" he said, stroking Alex's hair gently, Alex hiccupped and wiped his eyes with his sleeves.
"Dove… "
Dove looked down at Alex as Alex looked up at him, Alex wiped his eyes. "Yes?" Dove replied, Alex rested his head against Dove's chest.
"I think… I might like you"
Dove Tensed and Alex frowned.
"I realized that when you shape shifted into me" he teased, Alex rolled his eyes with a small smile.
"So do you… " Alex trailed off quietly, Dove smirked and kissed the top of Alex's head.
"I do… " he said, Alex smiled and cuddled closer.
"So then what do we do? " Alex questioned, Dove shrugged as Alex sat up straddling his lap.
"We keep it a secret '' Dove purred, Alex flinched his cheeks reddening. He looked away embarrassed and Dove caressed Alex's cheek with his hand before turning Alex's eyes to his own.
" What does this make us… ? " Alex sighed, Dove smiled and traced Alex's bottom lip with his finger.
"Shhh, we'll see," he said gently.
Alex's eyes widened when Dove's lips met his own, Dove trailed his hand to the back of Alex's head and Alex let his eyes flutter shut as Dove tangled his fingers in his hair.
Their tongues danced like folk dancers at a festival, feeding their desire for each other.
Alex wrapped his arms around Dove's neck as Dove pulled him closer, Alex moaned quietly against his lips and Dove chuckled against Alex's.
