Mr. Nelson hid Tracey deep in Makenna’s school. He hid him backstage in the auditorium. He dragged him into the men’s changing room, in the net, and locked him up inside. Cody had one fairy. He just needed the other two, and then his collection would be complete. Tracey was totally out of sorts. He was dying, and he was dying very quickly. He had lost consciousness. Makenna and Caleb had to get him to the hospital before it was too late. Backstage, Mr. Nelson was getting ready to head out and search for Caleb. Caleb would be his second prize. After he had both him and Tracey, then he would use them as bait to lure Makenna into his trap. Mr. Nelson was totally unaware that the police was on the way. He just wanted to get the next two fairies.127Please respect copyright.PENANAmcjJJpnUjO
Glancing at Tracey, he told him, “See you soon, my little friend. Don’t worry, you won’t be alone for long. You’re going to soon have some company.” Chuckling, he left unconscious, dying Tracey in the changing room and headed out to find Caleb. He slammed the door behind, but Tracey didn’t even stir. He just remained in the net and waited to turn into ash.
Caleb Delling scurried down the east wing’s hallways, with Gina on his shoulder, and both he and she called for Tracey, “Tracey!” They rapidly searched the area.127Please respect copyright.PENANAMrBSFsBHus
Gina scoffed and asked, “Oh so now it’s a game of hide-and-seek, eh?”127Please respect copyright.PENANANNzuHsVH6c
“Don’t worry, Gina.” Caleb spoke, “We’ll find Tracey. I know we will. Hm? Hey, did you hear something?”127Please respect copyright.PENANAwe0IF1muFE
“Hear what?” asked Gina. She glanced into Caleb’s face. He planted his feet and cautiously surveyed the area. Not far from him and Gina, hiding behind another wall and spying on them, was Cody Nelson.127Please respect copyright.PENANACD2G9FDBFE
He was wearing his bazooka over his shoulder, and he smirked at the sight of Gina and Caleb. “Target spotted,” he whispered, and he loaded his bazooka. Where Caleb was standing, he heard him whisper that, and his fairy instincts booted up.127Please respect copyright.PENANADX5cgNFIDy
To Gina, he softly spoke, “I smell danger.”127Please respect copyright.PENANAFcSz49A4iO
“Let’s investigate.” Gina voiced back.127Please respect copyright.PENANAtcHwloIwv0
Caleb nodded and asked, “Watch my back, okay?”127Please respect copyright.PENANAfXrGtiqG6b
“Right.” Gina peered behind her to the empty hallway, and she kept her eyes planted on it.127Please respect copyright.PENANA6sIQwvZGJR
Caleb on the other hand focused forward on the wall Cody was hiding behind and took a deep breath. “Hang in there, Tracey,” he whispered, “I’m coming,” and he started toward it.127Please respect copyright.PENANA40W0FUIlXY
Mr. Nelson saw him coming, and smirking, he murmured, “Target approaching. This will be like taking candy from a child.”127Please respect copyright.PENANAdiwN383BIo
He purposely bumped his bazooka on the wall, and hearing it, Caleb nodded and said, “Yep. There is definitely something hiding behind that wall.” Gina turned her head, and she too focused on the wall. She gulped and cuddled up to Caleb. He crept toward the wall and prepared his magic. There was the sound of shuffling, and Caleb moved faster. Soon, he reached the wall Mr. Nelson was hiding behind, and grabbing hold of it, he peered behind it. Caleb gasped. Nobody was there! Where Mr. Nelson had been standing, it was now empty! How though? Caleb thought he heard something. He stepped behind the wall and confusingly searched the area. Sure enough, nobody was behind it. Sighing with relief, Caleb said, “Whew, my imagination’s gone wild,” and he backed up, softly chuckling.
Gina heard something behind her. She again turned her head, and she gasped at what she saw. A bag was suddenly thrown on top of her, and two, powerful hands grabbed Caleb and covered his mouth! It was Mr. Nelson! He had snuck up from behind! Caleb’s eyes widened when he felt his hands, and he turned his own head. Mr. Nelson, in his right hand – the hand that wasn’t covering Caleb’s mouth – held Gina’s bag, and she was squawking and fighting to get out.127Please respect copyright.PENANAiXn5RTBOAY
To Caleb, Mr. Nelson said, “Gotcha!” and Caleb too started to fight him, “Ha, ha, you didn’t think we’d meet again eh, boy? Your friend, Tracey, is really looking forward to your company. Don’t worry, you’ll soon have your sister right by your side too.” Caleb continued to fight him, but Mr. Nelson held him tightly. He dragged him in the direction of the school’s auditorium.
Caleb’s sister, Makenna, who was exploring the west wing, was getting weaker and weaker. Groaning, she closed her eyes and fell onto her back.127Please respect copyright.PENANAjXEPWrZJCY
Raeven fell from her shoulder and landed on his belly next to her. “Makenna!” he yelled when he saw her. He quickly jumped to his feet and approached her, “Rise and shine, soldier! Get up! You’re not dead yet!”127Please respect copyright.PENANArAN8hGZM0G
“I can’t, Raeven.” Makenna groaned, and she tried lifting her head, but it only fell to the ground again, “I feel like I am.”127Please respect copyright.PENANAOMlhr3N552
“No, you’re not!” Raeven shouted, “Up, up, up, up!” He started to leap all around her, “Collect your marbles, kid, and let’s move! Tracey’s counting on you to save him!”127Please respect copyright.PENANAvMFEelQBRY
“Uhh,” moaned Makenna. Lifting her head again, she tried to stand.127Please respect copyright.PENANAKujcADPaBV
“That’s it, that’s it!” Raeven yelled, “You’re doing it, Makenna! You’re doing it!” Makenna struggled to her feet, and once standing, she took deep breaths. Raeven twirled in front of her and excitingly announced, “We’ve had enough of this puppy paradise! Let’s move on to the east wing, and who knows, we may even run into Caleb! Ye-hoo! I’m liking this! Now this what I’m calling an adventure! Go, Makenna! Go, Makenna! Go, Makenna! Show the world the true power of the Metamorphic Fairy!”127Please respect copyright.PENANABLHypS0hzk
Makenna clamped his muzzle shut and pulled him out of the sky, whispering, “Shh! Shut up, Raeven! Why did I have to be stuck with the loudmouth? Shh!” Closing her eyes, she stumbled forward, and under her hand, Raeven continued to cheer.
Mr. Nelson had made it to the auditorium. Caleb was confused. Why did Mr. Nelson bring him here? He dragged him and Gina up a ramp that was just left of the stage that led backstage and approached the men’s changing room. It was hidden from view by the stage’s curtain. Cody threw open the door, and he hurled both Caleb and Gina into the room which they landed next to one another. Caleb quickly sat up and picked up Gina’s bag. He could hear her whimpering inside.127Please respect copyright.PENANAilvqypxnuU
Glaring, Caleb glanced at Mr. Nelson and yelled, “You hurt her!” He tore open Gina’s bag and pulled her out, hugging her to his chest.127Please respect copyright.PENANA2o7XN1YiGr
In the doorway, Mr. Nelson leaned up against it, smirked, and said, “I’ll leave you in here for a few moments to get acquainted with your dorm mate. I on the other hand,” He again loaded his bazooka, “have a Metamorphic Fairy to catch for my ultimate prize. My collection’s almost complete!” Mr. Nelson laughed and slammed the door of the men’s changing room shut. He locked it behind him.
Caleb didn’t waste another minute. He gently set Gina down and leaped to his feet, hurrying to the door.127Please respect copyright.PENANAStdh6igvJY
He pulled on the handle and yelled, “Let us go! You don’t have the right to do this! The U.S. is a free country! Let us go!” He banged the door, “Just wait, Mr. Nelson! Makenna is going to earn her third transformation, and once she does, she’s going to chuck both you and Peter off the face of the Earth!” Caleb was obviously very angry. He continued to pull on the door, but it didn’t budge. Where Gina stood, she shifted the angle of her body, and her eyes landed on Tracey. Gina held her breath. It was Tracey! He was still trapped in the net, – he was still unconscious – and he wasn’t moving at all. Gina hurried toward him, and she landed next to him. Caleb was still screaming and pulling on the door.
Outside the changing room, backstage, Mr. Nelson was listening to Caleb’s rants, and he chuckled.127Please respect copyright.PENANAvoVajSXvVZ
“Kids,” he menacingly spoke, and he gripped his bazooka, “He can do that as long as he wants. I on the other hand have to complete my collection. Oh, Pete!” Mr. Nelson drew his walkie talkie and brought it close to his lips, “I got them. I got the bird and brother. Now all that’s left is Makenna.” While he spoke through the radio, he stepped out of the curtain and onto the stage.
Backstage, in the men’s changing room, Caleb stopped banging on the door, and he mumbled, “That jerk. This cannot be happening to me.” He rubbed his fist and stared at the door. Caleb sniffed. He could feel tears in his eyes. Closing them, he lowered his head and pressed his forehead up against the door.127Please respect copyright.PENANAIBAmz9oa5K
Gina was gnawing on Tracey’s net, and she called to him, “Caleb! Caleb! I need your help!” Caleb took his forehead off the door, and he turned in the direction of the tern and her friend.127Please respect copyright.PENANAofn2OoKVfV
She gestured at Tracey, and seeing him, Caleb gasped, “Tracey! So, this was where Mr. Nelson hid him! Thank you, Gina!” Gina nodded.
Caleb reached into his back pocket and drew a pocketknife.127Please respect copyright.PENANApbGbRV35ej
He hurried to Tracey’s net and kneeled to him, “It’s okay, Tracey. Don’t worry, I’m going to get you out of here.” Caleb flipped open the knife’s blade, and as if he had seen it or had seen it in his mind, Tracey suddenly yelled and started to thrash like crazy! He tried to get out of the net, but he failed. He was obviously scared. Noticing his fear, Caleb yelled, “Wait! No! Tracey, stop!” and he started to saw the net’s ropes with his knife, “I’m just trying to help you! Stop! Don’t move!” Caleb sawed as fast as he could. Tracey continued to yell. Scared by his yelling, Gina jumped back and hid behind the leg of a wooden chair. She frightfully peered out to Caleb and her friend.
Caleb finally finished cutting all the ropes he wanted to cut, and quickly closing his pocketknife, he grabbed the net with both hands and pulled it off of Tracey. It landed over another chair instead.127Please respect copyright.PENANAHItq40m6fb
Caleb next grabbed thrashing Tracey by both arms and calmly said, “Calm down. Calm down, Tracey. You can trust me. It’s Caleb. Gina’s here too.” Right after he mentioned her name, Gina slowly popped out from behind the chair she was hiding behind, and she opened her wings, flapping them. Lifting into the sky, the tern flew to Tracey and landed next to his head. She squawked comfortably and rubbed up against his hair.
At Caleb’s voice and her touch, Tracey started to calm down.127Please respect copyright.PENANAhFL3oXF06x
He stopped thrashing, and his head fell to the left. “That’s it,” spoke Caleb, “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you, Tracey. I would never hurt somebody. I know you’re scared, and I don’t blame you. Mr. Nelson’s not here. It’s just you, Gina, and I. Calm down. We’re going to find a way out of this. I swear to it. You’re going to be okay.” Caleb placed his hand on Tracey’s forehead, and when he took it off, he saw that his entire palm was wet with his sweat. Gulping, he rubbed his hand up against his shirt, and next, his eyes landed on Tracey’s first shirt.
Caleb reached forward and grabbed hold of it. He pulled it off and set it down next to Merlin’s apprentice. Then he stood up and hurried to the closet in the changing room. Caleb opened it and frantically felt around for something he could cover Tracey with that would keep him warm. Gina stayed with her friend and talked to him. She continued to rub up against his head.
Caleb finally found something in the closet. He found a large, gray sheet on the top shelf, and quickly, Caleb grabbed a chair that was near him and pulled it to the closet. He checked to make sure the chair was stable. When he was sure it was, he hopped onto its seat and reached up, grabbing hold of the sheet. Caleb pulled it down, and the entire sheet fell out of the closet. The eleven-year-old jumped off the chair he was standing on and shook it out. After he did that, he returned to Tracey and flung the sheet on top of him. Gina watched him. Caleb fell to his knees and checked to make sure Tracey was still breathing. He was, and the boy sighed with relief. He then lifted the sheet slightly off his wings and studied them. Tracey’s wings had completely lost their color. They were white. However, faded, green and purple sparkles circled them. Where the tears were, they were outlined by yellowish green, and a few more tiny bones fell from Tracey’s wings. Horror flashed across Caleb’s face.127Please respect copyright.PENANABu8eyOSeK3
He reached for Tracey’s wings and frightfully said, “Their infected. Oh, gosh. They have to come off. Hang on for just a little bit longer, Tracey. Take deep breaths.” He covered his wings with the sheet again and leaped to his feet.
Caleb returned to the door and lifted his fist, pounding on its face.127Please respect copyright.PENANAzXrvy4GymU
“Help!” he yelled, “Somebody help us! Get us out of here! We’re trapped! There’s a boy in here who’s dying! We need a doctor!” Nobody answered his pleas for help. Caleb groaned. He was very frustrated. Tears invaded the eleven-year-old’s eye sockets, and he punched the door even harder, yelling louder, “Help! We need a doctor! There’s a BOY in here who’s DYING!! ARGH!!” This time, Caleb punched the door so hard that he flinched and grabbed his fist. Frustratingly turning, he breathed rapidly and frightfully searched the area. His eyes landed on the changing room’s bathroom. Caleb sprinted to it, and once inside, he grabbed a towel and turned on the sink. He soaked the towel with cold water and wringed it out. After doing that, Caleb exited the restroom and returned to Tracey. He was lying as still as a rock. Caleb kneeled to him and placed the towel over his forehead. He took his hand which was resting on his tummy and turned his head toward the door again. “Makenna.” Caleb begged, “Makenna please.” He tried to calm down, but it was difficult. It was getting to the point that he may actually have to perform CPR on Tracey.
Caleb continued to beg for Makenna,127Please respect copyright.PENANAZFUQa2bPgm
“Please. There’s nothing more I can do. Poor Tracey’s going to die if you don’t get here soon.” He frantically searched the changing room, “Is there a phone in here? Of course not. It’s a changing room.” Caleb glanced down on his friend, and his shaky hand touched his neck. “Stay with us, Tracey,” he begged, “Please. Don’t stop breathing. Continue to take deep breaths.” Tracey obeyed. He inhaled and exhaled. Inhaled and exhaled. Caleb went ahead and prepared for CPR. He lifted the sheet off Tracey and next took his tank top off so his bare chest was revealed. He was already lying on a flat surface, so he didn’t have to worry about lying him down. Caleb fixed his hands, and he held them up to Tracey’s chest. “Stay with us, Tracey,” he repeated, “Don’t stop breathing. Gina and I are right here. Makenna’s going to be here soon. If you stop breathing, I swear I’ll revive you. I promise. Dad taught me how to perform CPR a long time ago.”
Makenna knew both she and Tracey were running out of time. Her fairy instincts told her. She had finally made it to the east wing. She was almost caught by Mr. Nelson who was roaming the corridors, but Raeven warned her and pulled her back behind a wall where she was well hidden. Makenna thanked him and waited for the coast to clear. Once it was, she slipped out from behind the wall, as quiet as a mouse, and headed down the hallway.127Please respect copyright.PENANAKOfxVe9qyo
She was just getting ready to slip into a closet when suddenly, dust tickled Raeven’s nostrils, and he sneezed. “Raeven!” Makenna weakly yelled.127Please respect copyright.PENANAJx0fxQeB2F
Raeven chuckled. “Oops,” he spoke. Unfortunately, Mr. Nelson had heard Raeven’s sneeze.127Please respect copyright.PENANAojHu3wUiMb
He appeared from out of nowhere, and he gasped at the sight of Makenna. “I’ve got her!” he yelled, and quickly pulling his bazooka’s strap over his head, he pointed it at Makenna, “The Metamorphic Fairy’s cornered!”127Please respect copyright.PENANAsGTh2xUuEY
“Raeven!” Makenna repeated, “You big mouth! Why did you have to sneeze?!” From where he was standing, Cody pulled back the trigger of his bazooka, and a net shot toward Makenna. However, she quickly dove out of the way, and she took Raeven with her when she fell. The net flew over her head and missed her.
Makenna slammed down on her front, and Raeven fell from her shoulder. He quickly got up and urged her to her feet. Makenna struggled to stand, but she finally did.127Please respect copyright.PENANAhcQx848i3S
Raeven next nudged her forward, and he called, “Go, Makenna!” to her through telepathy, “Find your brother and Tracey! I’ll take care of Peter’s dad!” He hurried to Mr. Nelson, yelling, “Stop, you criminal!” and he started to repeatedly smack him with his wings.
Fading Makenna, who was growing paler and paler – she now looked like a ghost; people could see right through her – stopped running and turned back to her bat friend, placing her fists to her chest.127Please respect copyright.PENANAhmS76Ueizq
“Raeven,” she feebly spoke. Her voice was fading. It almost sounded robotic. It sounded as if Makenna was trapped in two different dimensions at the same time; the Dimension of Life and the Dimension of Death.127Please respect copyright.PENANAORyK4aObEp
Raeven again yelled at her, “Go!” and he knocked Mr. Nelson and his bazooka to the ground. He blew them a raspberry and hurried toward Makenna. She moved. However, she didn’t get far. She was way too weak. Makenna closed her eyes and fell to the ground. Behind, Raeven yelled, “Makenna!” and he moved faster toward her.
Behind him, Mr. Nelson punched the ground and reached for his bazooka.127Please respect copyright.PENANAJimns7CBNn
“Annoying bat,” he mumbled, “Wait until he gets a feel of my Super, Super Smacking, Awesome, Electric Net.” He picked up his bazooka and loaded it up this time with another one of his inventions, a special type of net that would electrocute whoever it was who was caught with it. The electric net would be an easy way how Mr. Nelson could slow somebody down. He aimed the bazooka at Raeven and muttered, “You’re going to be punished, bat for coming between me and my ultimate prize.” He prepared to pull the trigger.
Where Makenna was, she was sliding on the ground, too weak to stand up, and she reached for a locker’s handle. Grabbing hold of it, she tried to stand, but she slipped and fell to the ground again. Makenna took deep breaths. Sweat fountained down her face, and she refused to try standing up again.127Please respect copyright.PENANA6mbXOMy9EA
She weakly called, “Raeven,” and she turned her head. Makenna gasped. “Raeven!” she repeated. She saw Raeven flying toward her, but she also saw Mr. Nelson pointing the bazooka at him. Makenna’s eyes widened, “Oh no you don’t!” and she tried to shoot a spell at Mr. Nelson but only smoke escaped her white palm. Raeven could literally see right through her. That was how pale and faded she was.127Please respect copyright.PENANArWRMBGElkv
Makenna was trying really hard to not fall unconscious. “I’m coming, Makenna!” Raeven called to her.127Please respect copyright.PENANAtD5dTCTgr6
Right after he said that, Mr. Nelson announced, “Fire!” and he pulled back the trigger of his bazooka.
The electric net shot out of it and flew straight toward Makenna’s avian friend!127Please respect copyright.PENANAVQIRSuYtkP
The Metamorphic Fairy saw this and weakly shouted, “No! Raeven!” With her last bit of fairy strength, she closed her eyes, struggled to her feet, and hobbled toward the net and Raeven. She knew this was going to hurt, but she had to do this! For the sake of Raeven, Gina, Tracey, Caleb, and fairy world overall!
The net continued to fly toward Raeven. Finally, he saw it, and he gasped with fear. Electric bolts escaped the net’s ropes, and Raeven felt a tiny pinch on his foot. Makenna continued to run toward him.127Please respect copyright.PENANA15pONT1xb8
Closing her eyes, tears streamed down her cheeks, and she yelled, “Raeven! No!” With that last saying, the Metamorphic Fairy threw herself into the fray. She came between Raeven and the net, and the net caught her instead! Immediately after it did, the net electrocuted her, and Makenna screamed in pain. It felt as if every bone in her body was breaking!
“What?” Cody Nelson asked from where he was resting.127Please respect copyright.PENANA1u1Rpeivui
He quickly stood up and hugged his bazooka close to his chest. “Makenna!” Raeven shouted, “Why would you do that?!” He tried to fly to his friend, but the insane electric bolts forced him to back up.127Please respect copyright.PENANAQCXUHLGA8G
Continuing to scream, Makenna fell to the ground. “I had to, Raeven!” she painfully shouted, and even though she was being electrocuted, she struggled to her feet and held her hands in front of her, “I can’t let this criminal kill you! Save yourself! Just promise me you will get Tracey to the hospital!”127Please respect copyright.PENANAXECymHk3Uf
“But, Makenna!” shouted Raeven.127Please respect copyright.PENANAFCd6j7tFJI
“Just do it! Tracey doesn’t deserve to die! He’s done nothing wrong! I on the other hand do after all the troubles I’ve caused! I had to, Raeven! It was the truth all along! Selene was right! I don’t deserve to be a Metamorphic Fairy, but Caleb does!”127Please respect copyright.PENANAE0IRJvqZnc
“Makenna!” Raeven again shouted, “No! I’m not going to leave you!” Tears seemed to appear in his eyes.127Please respect copyright.PENANAB61mVksUp1
“Go!” shouted the dying Metamorphic Fairy. Her eyes were tightly shut. Mr. Nelson was only staring. He couldn’t believe what he just witnessed! However, things only got a lot more interesting from here.
Suddenly, a zephyr rushed through the hallway, and the electric bolts from the net metamorphosed into blue and pink sparkles. They circled the Metamorphic Fairy and lifted her into the air. She opened her eyes. Suddenly, she felt her strength returning, and she gasped.127Please respect copyright.PENANAcrK4izWvDG
Raeven did too. “Makenna!” he yelled. Makenna was lifted higher and higher into the sky. She peered confusingly down and watched as the pink and blue sparkles bit into the net’s ropes and burned them. The ropes were ripped from Makenna’s body, and there was a great blast of light.127Please respect copyright.PENANAIqKeGSijUO
Her strength continued to return. “What’s going on?!” she shouted.
Through the blast of light, pink and blue sparkles circled Makenna’s head, and over her forehead reemerged the crystal circlet she had when she first transformed into a Soon to be a Crystal Metamorphic Fairy, that she felt she wasn’t worthy of. She turned her head and body and smiled. Her hair grew even longer, – it now almost touched her heels – and a warrior-like appearance was given to it. The blue highlights reappeared, as well as some brand-new pink ones that decorated the lower layer of her hair. Makenna’s hair waved, and still smiling, she extended her arms. Her entire body was covered in blue and pink magic, and sparkles circled her wrists. Over them appeared silver gauntlets. Makenna acted out a backflip and kicked up her leg, performing a ballet move. The magic was sucked away from her body, and the young fairy clenched her fist. Peering down, she gasped when she saw that her outfit had changed! She now wore a blue and silver tunic with knight-light shoulder pads, – it was accessorized by a translucent, silver, organza cape. Mixed in with her tunic were scale patterns. After gaining her tunic and cape, Makenna next leaped up and down and moved her body from side to side. She turned her back to the audience and flapped her arms like wings. During the process, tall, warrior-styled, knee-length boots covered her feet. Shooting backwards, she flew in an arch. Makenna acted out three more arches, and then, she stopped and kicked out her legs. Sky blue, feather-like wings, similar to the wings Percy Jackson wore on his flying shoes appeared behind her knees. Makenna faced forward and lifted her hand high over her head. Materializing into her hand was a blue wand with a star-shaped head that was tipped with pink. Makenna had been given a real wand!127Please respect copyright.PENANAWhS8ZbRYOc
Grinning, she announced, “Makenna! Metamorphic Fairy of Seabrook Island!” and she pointed her new wand at her back. Sparkles escaped it and circled her back, and from it, she popped a brand-new pair of fairy wings! These wings weren’t as large as her Level 2 wings, but they were still large. These wings were made out of crystals, real crystals, and each crystal was outlined blue. Just like her Level 2 fairy wings, rainbows shimmered in them. To finish off the phenomenon, crystalized fairy studs appeared in her ears.
Makenna had done it! She doubted she would succeed, but she did! She had earned her Crystal Metamorphic Fairy transformation! Rescuing Raeven was her act of true metamorphosis! She had sacrificed herself to save him, Gina, Tracey, Caleb, and the world of fairies overall! She was a hero, and that’s why the new transformation looked very warrior-like. Makenna was a warrior, a fairy warrior! She didn’t think she deserved to be a Metamorphic Fairy, – she thought Caleb did instead – but she was wrong, and here she was! Officially, fourteen-year-old Makenna Delling was a Level 3 Metamorphic Fairy, a Crystal Metamorphic Fairy! All she had to do now was use her new powers to rescue Caleb, Gina, and Tracey.
After Makenna transformed, the magic left her, and there was one more blast of light. When it faded, Makenna was hovering over the hallway where she had transformed, completely reborn, and she ignored her soreness and exhaustion. Looking very serious, she met Mr. Nelson’s eyes and glared at him. The net wasn’t totally off her. Makenna was still being electrocuted, but it no longer hurt her. She looked awesome! She definitely looked like a fairy warrior! Makenna closed her eyes and clenched her fists. She bent her body and released a powerful blast of magic that threw the rest of the net off her. Both Raeven and Mr. Nelson were staring at her openmouthed with astonishment. Mr. Nelson even dropped his bazooka – he was so shocked.
Makenna next cupped her hands, and a ball of rainbow light appeared in them. She launched the spell at Mr. Nelson which it hit the floor next to his feet. Right after it did, rainbow vines lifted out of the floor and wrapped around him.127Please respect copyright.PENANAoTwKqirqAF
Makenna had trapped him. “Holy guacamole!” Mr. Nelson yelled, and he peered down on the vines wrapped around his body.127Please respect copyright.PENANA3GrNZfu9qI
From where she hovered, Makenna yelled, “That’s for capturing my brother!” She was very angry, “This is for Peter Nelson trying to kill me!”127Please respect copyright.PENANA39wJeiVIob
She ordered for the rainbow vines to slap Mr. Nelson in the face which they did. “Stop!” he pleaded to furious Makenna, but she continued to glare.127Please respect copyright.PENANAHm747RdGwp
“This,” she yelled at Mr. Nelson, “is for Raeven!” She next hit Mr. Nelson with the Paintus Completeness spell. He was now covered from head to toe in blue and pink paint. Makenna wasn’t finished with him yet though. She still had one last thing to do. “And this,” she yelled, “this is for Tracey!” She hit both Mr. Nelson and his bazooka with a beam of light, and he yelled as he was thrown backwards, and the vines pinned him to the ground. His bazooka exploded, and bazooka pieces went flying in every direction. Makenna protected herself and Raeven behind a translucent, light blue shield.
Finally, everything calmed down. Exhausted Makenna ordered her shield down, and she floated to the ground, landing on hands and knees. Makenna sighed. Mr. Nelson was struggling to release himself from the vines, but they held him tightly.127Please respect copyright.PENANAhQvPc6z7Rt
Where Raeven was hovering, he shouted, “Makenna!” and he quickly soared down to her and landed next to her. “Makenna!” he shouted again. “Thank you! You saved me! How do I ever repay you?” He stared amazed at Makenna’s new, warrior-like transformation and added, “You’ve done it! Congratulations!” Makenna soon opened her eyes and looked herself up and down. Realizing what had just happened, she smiled and said, “I did it. I really did it. I can’t believe I earned my Crystal Metamorphic Fairy powers. Wow.” She stood up and glanced back to her new wings that were shimmering with rainbows, “Holy smokes. Are these real crystals?”127Please respect copyright.PENANAYEZ6pqJXUB
Raeven nodded. “They are, Makenna,” he explained, and he hovered in front of Makenna’s face, “That’s why this transformation is called the Crystal Metamorphic Fairy transformation. Those wings are meant to belong to an amazing fairy like you. I never want you to doubt yourself ever again. You are meant to be a fairy, Makenna. Believe it. There’s a reason why Selene chose you instead of Caleb.” Makenna listened carefully. “When Tracey and Merlin first learned about you,” Raeven continued, “Selene communicated with each of them and explained that you are the one destined to become a Crystal Metamorphic Fairy and help stabilize the world of fairies. You have proven your worth, Makenna. You have a very strong heart. I just don’t think you realize that yet.”127Please respect copyright.PENANAXIlYcphpvn
Makenna feebly smiled, “Thank you, Raeven,” and pulling him out of the sky, she hugged him, “I’m sorry I came in front of you, but I couldn’t let the net hurt you.”127Please respect copyright.PENANATGXtLRovrc
Raeven blushed. “You didn’t have to do that, Makenna,” he admitted, “I know you weren’t expecting to earn your third transformation, but you did.” Makenna hugged him tighter. She was no longer fading away. Her strength had returned completely. Still hugging her avian friend, she said, “Now all that’s left is rescuing Tracey, Caleb, and Gina and getting Tracey to the hospital. Let’s go, Raeven.”127Please respect copyright.PENANALE5r96pDoO
“Yes.” Raeven purred, “Let’s.”
