Gina searched the kitchen for something Tracey could eat. She didn’t want to give him a lot. She thought that maybe even a cup of applesauce would be enough for him. That was as if she could find some. While Gina searched, she also tried to figure out where on earth Makenna and her family members were.195Please respect copyright.PENANAmNfNJds0hB
Her eyes soon caught a calendar resting on the kitchen’s bar-like counter. “Is that a calendar?” the tern asked herself. She flew in the calendar’s direction and landed on it, “It is!” Gina was peering down on the April calendar. “Let’s see if this will tell us where everybody is,” she told herself. Gina peered at the week they were currently in. It was the third week of April. It was April 22. Gina rested her claw on the beginning of the week, and she moved it across it and read the writing on the dates. “Let’s see,” said she, “Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, pep rally and Spirit Week Dance. Whoa wait!” Gina jumped, “Pep rally and Spirit Week Dance?! That’s today! Tracey!” Gina quickly lifted off the countertop, “Makenna’s at school! She’s at the pep rally! The dance is tonight!” She hurried toward the living room, “Attention, Tracey, Merlin’s apprentice, I have discovered the whereabouts of Makenna Delling. She is at school at the pep rally. We’ve got to hurry before Peter Nelson pulls her into his trap!”
Tracey didn’t answer. He was sleeping.195Please respect copyright.PENANAGQz93dtQn1
Gina entered the living room, and she landed on the top of the couch, folding her wings. “Tracey!” she called. She peered down on his face, “Wake up! Our mission is almost complete! All we have to do is fly to Makenna’s school and rescue her from Peter Nelson. Afterwards, mate, I’ll take you back to Merlin’s Island. I promise. Tracey?” Tracey still didn’t answer. Tony had heard Gina’s squawking, and he was staring at her. She soon soared down to her friend, and she gave his cheek a few pecks. “Wake up, Tracey!” she begged, “I know you’re tired, I don’t blame you, but we’re almost finished with our mission. Makenna’s counting on us to save her, even if she is a jerk. Perform the Shrinking Spell.” Her pecks had finally woken Tracey up but not by much.195Please respect copyright.PENANABpRiEoa0ML
With his eyes still closed, he turned his head the other way and complained, “Gina. I feel like my wings are about to fall off.”195Please respect copyright.PENANATnG3Td0xut
“I know you’re hurting,” said Gina, “but you can do it. You’re Tracey. You’re Merlin’s apprentice. You’re one of the most famous fairies in the entire world, and I know you want to help Makenna. Perform the Shrinking Spell. Please perform the Shrinking Spell. You can take a nap on the way to Makenna’s school.”195Please respect copyright.PENANATnenP30AjH
“Okay, okay,” groaned Tracey, “Whatever you say, Gina.” He still didn’t open his eyes. Soon, he shrunk back down, and Gina caught him.195Please respect copyright.PENANATxXDhXoV8X
Tracey landed on his front, and he hugged her feathers. “Let’s get the Barbie dolls talking,” chuckled Gina, “because here we go!” She lifted into the air and flew toward the kitchen next.195Please respect copyright.PENANAKkrCuukhKy
On her back, Tracey begged, “No, Gina, don’t take me back to Makenna’s school. Please. That school has nothing but bullies in it.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAmmfK4DUKZU
“But we’ve got to!” Gina announced in a stern voice, “It’s a matter of duty, mate!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAyhigGCbawr
“Mate? Since when did you turn Australian?”195Please respect copyright.PENANAcHswCkbfN8
“Right after I took a trip to Australia a long time ago. Mate, mate, mate; here we go!” Tony leaped to his feet, and he watched as Gina soared in the direction of an open window in the kitchen that shone warm, sunny air down on a few plants. He barked and chased after her. Gina soared through the window, with Tracey hugging her back, and she shot into the air. “Hang on for just a little bit longer!” she yelled at her friend, “We’re going to save Makenna right now, and then we’ll be able to live our lives again. Cannonball!” Gina shot above the treetops and flew straight forward faster and faster until finally, she made it to Johns Island. She and Tracey were going to drop in at the pep rally before Makenna Delling, the teachers, and students knew it. They were going to crash it.
Makenna’s school was totally unaware of the incoming Tracey and Gina. They were having too much fun at the pep rally. The dance battle was just getting underway. Mrs. Hector picked up the basket of apples that Raeven was hiding in, and she headed into the heart of the circle of students.195Please respect copyright.PENANA3KXeSzps1R
Soon, with students surrounding her, she announced, “Students! The first round of the dance battle will be a partner dance battle. Three partnerships will step up, and I’ll give you an apple.” She moved her hand into the basket of apples. Raeven quickly got out of the way of the hand, and he was breathing heavily. He was very nervous. Mrs. Hector picked out an apple, and she held it up to the students, explaining, “With their special apple, each partnership will come up with a dance that involves it.” Makenna Delling was having trouble seeing Mrs. Hector. She was being blocked by other freshmen. She pushed her way through them and took deep breaths. Mrs. Hector continued the explanation, “Whichever partnership who has the best dance will be rewarded a prize. So,” She lowered the apple she held, “who will be the three, brave partnerships for this first round?” Students exchanged glances. None stepped up and took the plate. “Come on,” said Mrs. Hector when she saw nobody was stepping up, “don’t be shy.” Peter Nelson and Makenna Delling met eyes. They nodded at one another.195Please respect copyright.PENANAYy7SncQHeS
Then, they stepped in front of their grade levels and together announced, “We’ll be the first partnership!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAykeXj8xSkf
“Fantastic!” announced Mrs. Hector. She gestured the two teens up, “Come on.” Makenna Delling and Peter Nelson approached one another, and they hooked hands. They headed toward Mrs. Hector. Behind them, in the freshmen crowd, Jimmy Carter, who was standing next to Jessica, blushed.195Please respect copyright.PENANA6TqChhOmDr
Quickly, he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the heart of the crowd of students. “We’re the second partnership!” he yelled. Makenna and Peter peered back to them. “Jessica and Jimmy?” Makenna asked. She and Peter stopped in front of Mrs. Hector, and Jessica and Jimmy stopped behind them.195Please respect copyright.PENANAueXk5D4J35
She offered them the apple she held and said, “Here’s your apple.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAPR9FT9Dist
“Thank you,” spoke Makenna. She lifted her hand and reached for the apple. While she was reaching for it, Peter Nelson performed his regular evil smile. Jimmy saw this, and he glared. He tried to go to Makenna, but Jessica pulled him back.
Makenna continued to reach for the apple.195Please respect copyright.PENANAV5A3nvaKSZ
However, just before she could take it, suddenly, a, “Stop!” was heard from the sky, and a sudden shuriken appeared from out of nowhere and sliced the apple in half before it could reach Makenna’s hand. She gasped, as did Mrs. Hector. The apple fell to the ground.195Please respect copyright.PENANAZk73iOb3BQ
Raeven poked his head out of the basket of apples again, and he asked in his head, “What’s going on now?” He peered into the sky. Suddenly, from it, appeared a green blur, and Tracey, Merlin’s apprentice, landed next to Peter Nelson! He was back to his regular height, and Gina was hovering over him, higher in the sky.195Please respect copyright.PENANAKpAddpLvMC
Gasps came from all the students and faculty members, and a few yelled, “It’s him!”195Please respect copyright.PENANA5GqEaJy68l
Tracey caught his shuriken that had spun back to him, and glaring, he held it up to Peter Nelson’s neck and yelled, “She goes free!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAn72DY0VEw2
“Tracey!” Makenna stuttered, “What are you?! How did you?! What are you doing here?!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAh3zymRdquW
“She goes free.” Tracey repeated, and the tip of his shuriken touched Peter’s neck, much like the tip of a sword.195Please respect copyright.PENANAYzUWlmB2vr
Gina soon soared down, and she landed on his head. “What is the meaning of this?” asked Mrs. Hector.
Tracey pointed at Peter Nelson and explained,195Please respect copyright.PENANAEEPRZ3WnfQ
“This boy is a criminal!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAhZw5dsJ91B
“Criminal?!” Makenna yelled.195Please respect copyright.PENANAP8TYlRFGCw
“Criminal?!” Mrs. Hector asked right after her, “Define ‘criminal,’ sir.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAMTg4XFzP7s
This was where the pep rally really got interesting because believe it or not, but Raeven decided to speak up. “Delicious and nutritious,” he told Mrs. Hector, “Served with the blue-plate special.” Mrs. Hector heard him. Makenna, Tracey, Jessica, and Jimmy did too.195Please respect copyright.PENANAEUZKvjUFVn
They all peered down on the basket of apples, and at the sight of the bat, Mrs. Hector screamed and shouted, “BAT!!” at the tops of her lungs. She dropped the basket and took off running. It crashed into the ground, and Raeven and the apples fell onto it. He shook out his head.195Please respect copyright.PENANApitQXhoPg0
Then he waved to the people staring down at him. “BAT!!” screamed Jessica. She lifted her foot and tried to stomp down on Raeven, but he quickly moved out of the way.195Please respect copyright.PENANAxZvyyrjQM7
“Raeven!” Makenna yelled, “Argh!” She reached for Raeven, but Peter snatched her arm and forced her into his chest. He rubbed up against her. “Let go!” yelled fourteen-year-old Makenna Delling, “He’s my friend!” She fought Peter’s arms, but he held her tightly. For once, she actually felt a little uncomfortable. Luckily, Tracey was right there. He hurried toward Makenna and reached behind his back. From it, he drew two more shurikens as if by magic, and he threw them toward Peter Nelson. They caught him by his shirt sleeves and threw him back. Makenna was released, and she went crashing to the ground, flinching. She closed her eyes. That fall had hurt.195Please respect copyright.PENANATiJABK38cd
Tracey stumbled toward her, and he gave Gina orders, “Gina, you get Raeven. I’m going to get Makenna out of here and away from Peter.”195Please respect copyright.PENANA9KWVd4PMi0
“Be careful, Tracey,” said Gina. She flapped her wings and lifted off his head, soaring in the direction of Raeven. Tracey passed Makenna who was still resting on the ground and grabbed her arm, pulling her to her feet.195Please respect copyright.PENANAAMvofJVStO
Where Peter was, he released himself from Tracey’s stars and stood up yelling, “I hate him! I hate that fairy! He is not going to get in my way! He’s interfered for the last time! I’m gonna kill him! I’m gonna kill that slimy, overgrown chicken!” Peter Nelson really did not like Tracey.
Raeven was being chased by a bunch of students and faculty members trying to kill him.195Please respect copyright.PENANAjM9LPm3VlM
People kept diving in for him, but Raeven dodged them. “Up,” he said, “You missed. You missed again. And again. And again.” Dr. Medford was standing in the center of the chaos blowing a whistle, and Mr. Gheesling was standing next to him. He was trying to calm things down.195Please respect copyright.PENANAJ2syLHleZN
Mr. Gheesling examined the chaos and nodded. “This has all gone very well,” he sarcastically spoke.195Please respect copyright.PENANAWn9aUMs3qX
Gina soon caught up with Raeven, and now flying next to him, she asked, “Mate, what are you doing?”195Please respect copyright.PENANAduj2AQ2vCJ
“I’m putting on a show.” Raeven answered, “And it’s going fantastic!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAtmEGEFzUeF
Gina nudged him. “We’ve got to calm this down before somebody gets hurt,” she spoke.
Tracey and Makenna were hurrying through the crowd of panicking students and faculty members. However, just when they thought they were going to successfully escape the chaos, suddenly, Peter Nelson appeared in front of them, and he punched Tracey across the face so he could get to Makenna. PUNCH! Tracey went toppling to the ground, and he slammed down hard on his back. He yelled and closed his eyes. His teeth were clenched together, and his head was tilted back. Bits and pieces of his shattered wings and bones fell from them; he had fallen so hard, and they landed next to him.195Please respect copyright.PENANA6RgUWrCKS5
Makenna gasped. “Tracey!” she yelled. She narrowed her eyebrows, “Aw man!” She brought her hands to her mouth and took a step back.195Please respect copyright.PENANAhUmJ6Yar2v
Peter Nelson grabbed her arm, and he yelled, “She’s my girl!” at Tracey, “You worthless fairy scum! You’re going to wish you were never born!” He started to drag Makenna away.195Please respect copyright.PENANASc5cPh2DFI
“Tracey!” she called. She held her hand out to him, but Peter continued to drag her.
Tracey shakily sat up. He couldn’t even explain how much pain he was in. His head was spinning, and he reached for it. Through telepathy, he yelled for Gina, “Gina! Gina please!” He lifted his other hand and covered his nose and mouth with it. The fall had knocked the breaths clean out of him, and he was having trouble retrieving them back. The pain was just so great. Sweat trickled down his temples, and he tried to stand, but he fell again. “Gina!” he called again. Tracey could feel himself falling asleep.195Please respect copyright.PENANAhpzIxaqYgn
Gina heard him calling for her, and she gasped, “Tracey! Come on, Raeven!” She pushed Raeven forward, and both she and he hurried toward Tracey.
Makenna Delling was still getting dragged by Peter.195Please respect copyright.PENANAa26RRtQ3dQ
“Peter, where are you taking me?” she asked him, “Tracey’s that way!” She pointed in Tracey’s direction.195Please respect copyright.PENANA5YN19TDesY
“I’m just trying to get you to safety,” he told her in his normal, fake, nice voice, “Ah, we’re almost there. Trust me.” He and Makenna were drawing near Makenna’s school, and Peter seemed to be in a rush to get inside. However, the bell saved the Metamorphic Fairy, for now at least. Suddenly, it rang, and students went piling into school. No way were they going to hang out in the courtyard anymore! Not after their wonderful pep rally had been ruined. They were ready to go home. Peter Nelson was pulled away from Makenna, and she fell to the ground again. Within just thirty seconds, the courtyard cleared out, and only she, Tracey, Gina, Raeven, Dr. Medford, and Mr. Gheesling had been left behind.195Please respect copyright.PENANAEtLppYDaPj
Dr. Medford and Mr. Gheesling were staring at the two fairies and their avian friends, and Dr. Medford shook his head. “That was a wonderful pep rally,” he sarcastically told Mr. Gheesling.
Makenna was beyond mad! She was furious! After picking up her backpack back in homeroom and saying goodbye to Mrs. Hector who was cowering under her desk, she dragged Tracey, Gina, and Raeven to the school’s dumpsters and threw them into them.195Please respect copyright.PENANAdmPRUMPZcN
She was mostly mad at Tracey. “I’ve had enough of you, Tracey!” she shouted at him, and she slapped him hard across the face. Tracey reached for it. Makenna faced him and continued to yell, “You totally embarrassed me! You totally embarrassed this school! You totally ruined my relationship with Peter Nelson!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAzsJ9GZ7zjT
“I was just trying to help you.” Tracey calmly told her. Like usual, he was remaining calm.195Please respect copyright.PENANA310rdjx4hp
Gina was cowering on his shoulder, and Raeven was cowering up against his leg. “Help me?!” Makenna shouted, “I don’t need your help, Ninja Boy! Thanks to you and your barbaric, unacceptable actions, you costed me a pep rally and boyfriend! Peter Nelson was totally about to kiss me, and then you just ruined everything! And you.” She next glared at Raeven, “You call yourself a bat looking for a friend? Well, let me tell you something, Raeven.” Makenna raised her voice, “You will never have a friend! None of you will ever have a friend! All three of you are a disgrace to the human world! A disgrace! And you, Tracey.” She focused her attention back on Tracey, “How dare you come back and to try kill me with one of your retarded ninja stars just so you can help me! How dare you focus on me all the time, and you call yourself Merlin’s apprentice?! You need to focus on recuperating from your broken wings! I had this totally under control, and then you three just flushed me down the toilet! I doubt Peter Nelson’s going to take me to the dance now!”
“Which is not all bad.” Tracey calmly spoke. He shook out his head, “You don’t understand, Makenna. You know nothing about love. Peter Nelson is planning on murdering you tonight at the dance.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAI2GDqih2si
“Murder?!” Makenna shouted, “How dare you trash talk about Peter Nelson in front of me, Ninja Boy! Peter would never murder me! Tell me, what evidence do you have of that barbaric idea?! What evidence?!” Glaring, Tracey stood up, and he closed his eyes, turning his head to the left. He didn’t answer. However, Makenna forced him to. “ANSWER ME!!” she shouted at him.195Please respect copyright.PENANABcCMBEA7Wp
“I would,” calmly spoke Tracey, “but,” He focused his attention on Miss Makenna.195Please respect copyright.PENANA4osceVcwJg
“You don’t trust me!” she shouted, “Is that it, you lunatic?!” Tracey found his inner peace. He again closed his eyes, growled, and turned his head. He didn’t want to become involved in an argument.195Please respect copyright.PENANAy6ClLeUALj
Finally, he opened his eyes and said, “That’s right, Makenna. I don’t trust you.” Makenna growled. “All I’m doing is just assisting you,” continued Tracey, “Fairies know, Makenna when their friend is in danger. Their fairy instincts tell them so. Mine told me of Peter’s plot. I honestly can’t believe after all he’s done you already, you still trust him. This tells me that you’re totally immobilized by this boy. You’re not focusing on his personality and actions; you’re focusing on his looks instead. There is much more to love than looks, Makenna. Believe me.”
“All right, that’s it!” Makenna shouted. She gave Tracey the evil death glare, “You asked for it, Ninja Boy!” She backed away from Tracey and cupped her hands. A ball of rainbow light in them. However, because Makenna was losing her strength as a fairy, the spell malfunctioned on her. Glaring, she yelled, “Paintus Completeness!” and the spell was spit out of her hands! It wasn’t supposed to spit though; it was supposed to just be a beam of light heading toward the target. The spell spat with so much force that Makenna was knocked to the ground. Tracey too was knocked to the ground when the spell hit him. Makenna soon sat up, and she gasped when she saw him. She brought her hand to her lips. Tracey was covered, from head to toe, in messy, rainbow-colored paint. With his eyes closed, he stood up and rubbed his head. Then, dropping his hand from his head, he peered down on his rainbow-colored hands and examined them.195Please respect copyright.PENANARWRZlNcGot
He gasped, “I’m rainbow!” He lost his calmness, “How dare you!” and gave Makenna the evil death glare.195Please respect copyright.PENANA15yw3AjuHa
Makenna, who didn’t like it when he became mad, held her hand out to him and tried to apologize and back out, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to attack you like that! I’m just super frustrated!” Tracey didn’t have time for her whining. Makenna had crossed the line. He was just as mad as she was.195Please respect copyright.PENANAdLEHADIwj3
He cupped his own hands, and a ball of green and purple light, similar to what had gotten Peter before, appeared in them. “Paintus Completeness!” Tracey shouted. He shot the spell toward Miss Makenna Delling, and she gasped at the sight of it. The spell crashed into her, and she again was knocked to the ground. Even though Tracey’s spell hadn’t malfunctioned, he currently still was a stronger fairy than Makenna, so his spells were stronger than hers, and they were able to knock her down.195Please respect copyright.PENANAW71HZb61WN
Raeven nudged Gina and whispered, “I don’t like this,” to her in English.195Please respect copyright.PENANASSrrLgqMzv
“No do I,” said Gina through telepathy, “Why don’t we take a coffee break, Raeven, and we’ll let the two fairies fight this off to the bitter end, okay?”195Please respect copyright.PENANAnorR2IXcXM
“Sounds good.” Raeven voiced. He opened his wings and chuckled, “Teenagers. Why are they so sensitive? Be quiet, Gina. Here we go.” He and Gina together flapped their wings, and they quickly got out of the fairy fighting zone. Both of them soared to the top of Makenna’s school building, and they landed on it. Together, they peered down on the fighting fairies. Makenna soon stood up, and she examined her own self up and down. She was covered in green and purple paint. This made her very mad. How dare Tracey ruin her beautiful attire!
She again cupped her hands, and this time, a ball of blue and pink light appeared in them.195Please respect copyright.PENANA1g83a2iRTo
“Paintus Completeness!” shouted the Metamorphic Fairy. The spell spat out her hands, like before, and hit Tracey. He was now covered in blue and pink paint. Furious, he lifted his foot and stomped the ground as hard as he could. Suddenly, under his foot, under the concrete, grew a large vine, and it hurried toward Makenna. When it reached her, the vine shot out of the concrete and grabbed her ankle, lifting her into the sky. Makenna Delling was now hanging upside-down.195Please respect copyright.PENANAvSjXwgHA2u
Glaring at Tracey, she yelled, “Ivy Rope!” and closed her eyes, blowing on her hands. Sparkles escaped them and turned into ivies. They hurried in the direction of Merlin’s apprentice. When they reached him, they repeatedly smacked him in the face, and he was forced to close his eyes against them.195Please respect copyright.PENANA9QTSyJdzWJ
“Whirlpool of Vines!” he shouted. He clenched his fists, and suddenly, he turned into a whirlpool, a real whirlpool! Makenna gasped when she saw this. The whirlpool Tracey was in lifted off the ground and flew toward Makenna. However, it went right by her and instead hit the concrete behind her. Right when it did, the whirlpool metamorphosed into more vines, and they wrapped around the Metamorphic Fairy. She was dropped gently to the ground. Tracey emerged from where the whirlpool used to be, and he was holding clenched fists out to Makenna.195Please respect copyright.PENANAnM6BzcbLXn
Where Raeven and Gina were watching from, Gina glanced at Raeven and asked, “Do you think we should break them up?”195Please respect copyright.PENANAJtLrEiAnSW
“Are you kidding?” Raeven questioned. Tears appeared in the sides of his eyes, and he seemed to grin, “This is the best thing I’ve seen in my entire life! Get the popcorn, Gina! Yeah, Tracey, show her what you’re made of! No wait, Makenna, you will win! Hit him hard with all your Metamorphic Fairy power! That’s it! Get his legs! Ooh, try again!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAsg96iHDCoM
Gina rolled her eyes and asked, “How long can they keep this up?” to herself.
Makenna and Tracey fought for forty-five whole minutes! They fought for so long that even Mrs. Delling, Michelle, who was eventually waiting for Makenna, climbed out of her car and was forced to head into the school’s front office and ask where her daughter was. Spell brawling for forty-five straight minutes though eventually made Makenna and Tracey exhausted. They were facing one another, still covered in paint from the previous Paintus Completeness attacks, and they were sweating and taking deep breaths. Twigs and leaves were stuck in Makenna’s hair, and Tracey’s hair was soaked because Makenna had hit him smack in the face with a water spell.195Please respect copyright.PENANABxOxOeGLsa
Gina and Raeven were still watching them from the top of the school building, and Gina said, “Unbelievable. Those two fairies have been fighting for forty-five minutes! We really should break them up now, Raeven.”195Please respect copyright.PENANA0HlrfZBDEu
“How about let’s not?” asked the bat.195Please respect copyright.PENANAUcmutA088S
“What are you talking about?! They’re gonna end up killing each other if they don’t stop! Keep in mind that Tracey’s wings are broken! He really shouldn’t be fighting like this anyway!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAMwUoXBxkUW
“Just watch.” Raeven spoke, “Let’s not flutter down yet, Gina. Just watch. This is what you call a love-hate relationship. Wait for it.”
Down below, exhausted Makenna and Tracey were still facing one another taking deep breaths, and Makenna asked Merlin’s apprentice,195Please respect copyright.PENANAM17TfGM93B
“Are you finished, Ninja Boy?”195Please respect copyright.PENANALdGhrATFHI
“Ha!” he weakly answered. He flipped soaking hair out of his face, “I’m just getting started! I could keep this up forever! I’ll show you the true power of Merlin’s apprentice!” He reached into his pocket and drew another one of his ninja stars. He prepared to attack. Exhausted Makenna Delling spat, and she reached into her backpack, pulling out her binder. Both she and Tracey were planning on beating the other fairy until they dropped with whatever object they considered to be their “weapon.” The two fairies inhaled and exhaled. Inhaled and exhaled. Inhaled and exhaled.195Please respect copyright.PENANAXCaazybTiW
Finally, they together announced, “Here I go!” and holding their weapons high over their heads, they sprinted toward one another, although Tracey was stumbling. The entire time they were approaching one another, they were yelling. However, before long, Tracey’s eyes drooped, and he stopped yelling, lowering his shuriken. The same thing happened to Makenna. Her own eyes drooped, and she too stopped yelling and lowered her binder. Before long, both she and Tracey went ka-plop, and they collapsed from exhaustion. Both of them had fallen onto their fronts, and their heads were almost touching.
From where she was perching, Gina gasped and yelled,195Please respect copyright.PENANAhbjlOLH36r
“Tracey!” She quickly flapped her wings and soared down toward her friend. Raeven followed, and he went toward Makenna.195Please respect copyright.PENANAAkXS3TFJ0A
Both avian creatures stopped and hovered over each of their friends’ head, asking, “Are you okay?” at the same time. Makenna was groaning from where she was resting, as was Tracey. However, then, from out of nowhere, Makenna started to laugh! Laugh! Fourteen-year-old Makenna Delling was laughing! After a bit, Tracey too started to laugh. Both he and Makenna turned onto their backs and peered up at the gorgeous, blue sky, and they were grinning.195Please respect copyright.PENANAwAPQYYyEbE
Their friendship was immediately reborn. “Boy, Tracey!” laughed Makenna, “You’re one heck of a firecracker! You obviously have been taught very well!”195Please respect copyright.PENANAleiiAnw8AH
“You’re not so bad yourself,” he complimented back, “You actually had me on my toes for a minute there. Well done, Makenna! Well done! We’ll settle this another day.” Both he and Makenna closed their eyes and laughed.195Please respect copyright.PENANAgxzIuJLPci
Raeven soon glanced at Gina and asked her, “What did I tell you, Gina? It’s a love-hate relationship.”
Soon, Mrs. Delling, Michelle, appeared from around the dumpsters, and her eyes widened when she saw Makenna and Tracey laughing on the ground. She had been forced to circle the school to search for her daughter, and here was where she found her. At the dumpsters.195Please respect copyright.PENANAqHkniOyxoN
She was even more surprised at the fact that Tracey was back. “Tracey!” she gasped.195Please respect copyright.PENANASCciSYGwPY
Makenna and Tracey heard her, and they opened their eyes, glancing at her. “Hey, Mom!” spoke Makenna. She waved at her mother and pointed her thumb at Tracey, “He’s back! Tracey’s back!” Tracey nodded and again closed his eyes.195Please respect copyright.PENANAhTAJZhBcZ5
He rested his hands on his tummy and asked Makenna, “Why don’t we go home, Makenna and prepare for the dance?”195Please respect copyright.PENANAdVr9GFqw1a
Makenna gasped, “Does this mean you’re going to come too, Trace?” She knew she was grinning. She could feel it.195Please respect copyright.PENANAZQ5MZHLvzx
Tracey nodded and answered, “Sure. Why not? I want to make sure you’re not invited to five different parties by five different princes on the same night. Besides, you can’t possibly have five different dresses, right?” He and Makenna laughed again. They laughed and laughed and laughed. Yep, they were definitely still kids.195Please respect copyright.PENANA7GAOM0fHNh
After a bit, Michelle too smiled, and she nodded at Gina and Raeven. Raeven saluted at her and said, “Teenagers. We’ll never understand them.”
“What on earth happened to you two?” Michelle asked Makenna and Tracey.195Please respect copyright.PENANAkznz2oE05j
She was examining their messy selves up and down. Makenna soon answered, “Funny story, Mom,” and both she and Tracey sat up, “Tracey and I kind of had a confrontation, but we’ve made up for it. Right, Tracey?”195Please respect copyright.PENANASajRjXaC3o
She nudged Tracey, and he nodded, “Of course, Makenna. Don’t worry, I’ll get our previous forms back.” He brought his fist to his lips and cleared his throat. He and Makenna sat back to back, and after a bit, Merlin’s apprentice waved his hands and announced, “Left in the care! Lost in the stone! Now no longer bold! Return our skin to its previous form!” There was a great blast of light from his hands, and both he and Makenna glowed up. When the magic left, they were no longer covered in paint and decorated by twigs, water, etc. They were back in their previous forms. Makenna examined herself up and down.195Please respect copyright.PENANACrpTwtUZnR
Soon, she and Tracey pulled each other into a hug, and she told him, “Thank goodness, Tracey you’re all right! Your magic level is back at base level, just how Selene and Merlin predicted it would be!”195Please respect copyright.PENANA4t1CTMPs5l
Gina nudged her and told her in her head, “Yeah, it’s a relief, Makenna, but keep in mind that he also now has broken wings. We’ve got to let him rest this afternoon before the dance.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAxR3gJmRzMp
“I understand.” Makenna told her back through telepathy. She let Tracey go, “All right, Tracey, let’s take you back to my house.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAQIybcFWoZ7
“Uh.” Mrs. Delling suddenly said. She seemed hesitant to take Tracey back in after she told Makenna she would never see him again. The Metamorphic Fairy focused her attention on her and added, “That’s as if it’s all right with Mom of course. Please, Mom? He’s broken his wings, and he needs to rest.”
Mrs. Delling sighed and thought about this for a moment.195Please respect copyright.PENANAJ8tdz0g5NE
Finally, she sighed and nodded, “Sure, Makenna, sure. We’ll take him home.”195Please respect copyright.PENANALpxrOU69bQ
Makenna grinned, “Thank you, Mom.” Raeven flew into her arms, and Gina flew into Tracey’s. Both fairies smiled, closed their eyes, and hugged their avian friends. Makenna finally admitted, “I’m so glad that I too now have an avian friend. Thank you, Raeven.”195Please respect copyright.PENANAEZibX06CSZ
“No problem.” Raeven told her through telepathy, “Does this mean you’ll give me a full platter of fruit when we get home?”195Please respect copyright.PENANA1KCQEi1Z9J
“Of course.” Makenna answered back. Raeven silently cheered. Mrs. Delling couldn’t help but to smile. She could not stop smiling.
