I lightly set a plate on the rack after I finished the dishes, and I sighed, turning to the door to start making the dining table.
I then saw Luca standing there, staring at me.
The moment he saw me turn, he shrank behind the doorframe, hiding from me.
I smiled then. “If you want to spy on me, be more descrete about it.”
He then came out from the doorway, cheeks glowing a bright red.
“Are we back to being timid?” I asked him. “My, master... you sure are a roller coaster of emotions, aren’t you?”
“Dante...” he said shyly.
“Yes?” I arched a brow.
He just thinned his lips. “Help.”
I gave him a bored look.
He just looked away, expression somber.
My lashes lowered. “What is it? Did something happen?”
“Follow,” he said then, walking off.
I listened, sighing as I set the rag I was holding aside and followed after him.
We made it back to his room, and I closed the door behind me. “What is it?”
He just got onto his knees and shuffled something out from under his bed.
My lips parted when he pulled out his bunny plush, and it was now torn and had it’s ear ripped off.
Something cold consumed me.
He loves that thing.
I then stepped over. “How did this happen?”
He just got into a criss cross position. “I was in the dining room and I was going to put him back, but all the sudden a bullet came through the window. In order to protect me, Jess took him and threw him toward the bullet in order to disorient its path so she could tackle me to safety.”
I sighed and stepped over, getting onto my knees beside him as I lightly took it from his hands.
“You can fix him, right?” he asked me.
I just smiled and lightly rubbed his head, making him blink. “Yes, I can. You have no reason to doubt me, master. I can do anything.”
He then smiled. “Alright.”
My lashes lowered.
And I’ll have a little talking with Jess, too, about this.
I then gazed down at him, finding him blankly staring down at the stuffie.
My lashes lowered. “You’ve been avoiding me all day. Did I go too far, earlier?”
He just remained silent.
I just watched him.
Yeah, it looks like I spooked him a bit.
I then tipped his chin up, and he blinked when I pressed my forehead to his.
“I apologize, master,” I said this time, smile softening, “and I mean it this time.”
His lips parted.
I just released him, and lightly pressed a kiss to his forehead.
He closed his eyes at the gesture.
I then gazed down at him, lightly running my finger under his marked eye.
I need to be gentler with him.
He can be fragile sometimes.
Although, he should stop tempting me. He knows very well I have a temper.
Luca gazed up then, lips parting as his eyes sparkled.
“Ah, master,” I said then, watching his curious expression, “how can one be so adorable but so heartless?”
He blinked.
You play with me like a puppet with strings... I thought, and you enjoy ticking me off... but alas...
I know a part of you wants comfort from me, as well.
And another part doesn’t.
You truely are a curious creature, aren’t you?
