“Good evening, Prince Belle!” Garner said as he walked up the manor steps, smiling kindly when I waved at him back. “How are you this evening?”
“I’m fine, thank you,” I said, closing my eyes kindly. “If you’ll follow me inside, sir.”
I walked up to the front door, and Dante closed his eyes, parting the wood before bowing and holding his hand out to the main enterance.
“Oh, such a large estate you have!” Garner said, taking his hat off as we entered. “I never knew you were this rich, my prince!”
“Sadly, people don’t know half the things about me,” I said then, sighing.
Dante closed the door behind us. “If I may take your jacket and your hat, sir.”
He gazed over at Dante. “You’re a servant?”
“Yes, sir.” He smiled slightly.
“Goodness!” he laughed nervously. “I would’ve never known from your clothing! You dress as nicely as Prince Belle here!”
Dante sent me a dubious look and I just glared at him.
“Ah, yes,” Dante said then, clapping his hands, “the introductions!”
He gestured to my other two servants. “That is James and Jess. They are brother and sister and serve as Prince’s housemaids.” He then gestured to himself. “I am Dante Hall and I am the main servant of my master.” He gazed up then, smirking. “I’ve been serving him since we were both six years old.”
Garner just parted his lips. “You’re the same age?” He glanced between me and Dante a couple times. “I would’ve never guessed!”
“Yes, we were childhood friends,” I stated then. “Despite him being a servant, he was my best friend, too.”
“Aw, that’s adorable!” Garner said then, clapping his hands before glancing between us.
He then looked at me. “I’m sorry, sir, but... I don’t understand how you two are the same age, you see... Dante, here, looks like he’s in his thirties and you look so youthful!”
“Ah,” I said then, smiling and closing my eyes, “I am actually thrity-two. And Dante is, as well.”
“Really...?” he said quietly. “You look so....”
“Short?” Dante finished. “Childish? Innocent? Itty-bitty? Miniscule? I know.”
I shot him a look.
I got cursed at nineteen, you ass. I know I’m short, but STILL.
He smirked.
“What’s your secret?” Garner said to me.
I just gazed up with a slight smile. “Ask the angels. They’ll happily let you know.”
He laughed as if he thought I was joking.
“Prince!” Jess said then, waving her hands. “Lunch is readddyyyy!”
I smiled then, looking up at Garner. “Alright, then. Let’s discuss over lunch, shall we?”
