I quietly snuck out of my room, once more, that night, trying my best not to alert Dante as I snuck through the upstairs window this time and caught onto a tree.
After landing gracefully, I stood and ran further into the night.
That bastard... he thought he could control me but he couldn’t.
I was his master. I was his master!
I continued running, breaths straining as I continued forward for another two minutes.
Until I slowed at a park—a different one that he hadn’t originally caught me at—and I smirked, walking further in to get to the swingset.
I sat down onto it, catching my breath as I set my hands on my knees.
The bastard tricked me. I would’ve won that game, he cheated.
I sat up straighter and gazed into that night.
I deserved to be alone every once and a while.
But immediately... my lashes lowered, and I touched my lips when I recalled earlier this night.
He... he kissed me.
Why did he...?
I just lowered my hand and set it on my lap.
I don’t understand you.
I stared back into the night, listening as all the crickets chirped, and my lashes lowered as I relished in the sounds of nature.
I stood then, blowing out a sigh as I stepped toward a park bench.
But I felt a shadow move behind me, and before I could spin around and look back...
A hand flew over my mouth.
I stilled, my entire body swelling with cold.
My breaths strained, and my eyes widened when his other hand wrapped around my stomach.
“Shhhh...” Dante cooed in my ear.
What? WHAT?
He scared the shit out of me!
“We made a deal, master,” he said darkly, sending chills through me. “And you decide to run away? How, very hurtful.”
I kept my place, sweat sliding down my temples.
“If you scream,” he threatened in a low tone, “I bite.”
My bones chilled further.
Was he... threatening to kill me?
“I’m just joking,” he said then, chuckling as another chill swam through my blood, “but... if you do scream, I won’t be happy.”
He then removed his hand from my mouth.
I caught my breath, glaring back at him. “WHAT IS WRONG WITH—”
He covered my mouth immediately, wrapping his arm around my bace as his face remained inches from mine.
My eyes widened when his gaze glowed a dark red, pupils slitting like a cat.
“Shhh...” he whispered menacingly, holding me in place, “do you hear that?”
I struggled to breathe through his hand, glancing around nervously.
“I hear a pound...” he glanced around coolly before looking back down at me, “oh... it’s just your heart.”
I looked back up at him, another bead of sweat sliding down my temple.
“Pound, pound, pound,” he said then, chuckling darkly. “It comes in threes... and now it’s faster. And even faster.”
He was right, I could feel my heart racing harder at his words, threatening to explode and kill me right here.
“My, my...” he said then, tipping his head to the side, “is someone afraid?”
I glared.
You’re doing this on purpose, you ass.
“Perhaps, I am,” he said then, slowly removing his hand.
I parted my mouth to yell at him.
He just pressed his finger to my lips, tapping it twice when I blinked. “Quiet, now, master. Or else the crickets will hear you... and who am I to conceal their chirps of joy?”
I glared. “You are insufferable today. How dare you talk to your master this way?”
“You broke the deal,” Dante stated swiftly, lashes lowering, “I told you if I won you would succumb to me and do anything I say... you lost. And here you are running away again. Now, tell me, are you being a brat or are you actually doing the opposite of our deal?”
“You cheated.”
“I did nothing of the sort, master,” Dante said then, smirking. “It’s not my fault you stiffened like a scared bunny.”
“How dare you kiss me like that?!”
“You didn’t tell me to stop.”
I glared sharply. “You knew this would happen.”
“Yes,” he said honestly, “but you let it happen.”
I gritted my teeth.
“You broke the deal that you made with the devil,” Dante said then, glancing down at his hand.
I swallowed something hard.
That’s right... we shook on it.
But I thought I was going to win. I didn’t know he had this trick up his sleeve. He usually plays fair with me.
“It’s a shame,” he said, sighing as he closed his fist, glancing up at me seconds later. “Because breaking a deal comes with a punishment.”
My brows drew together. “What?”
“You heard me,” he said, smirking. “Someone needs a spanking.”
I glared then, gritting my teeth. “You are not my mother.”
“Indeed, I am not,” he said then, smile darkening, “I am a demon. And us demons have our desires, do we not?”
My eyes widened immediately when I caught his hint. “What...?”
“You betrayed the deal, master,” he said then, smirking. “Usually, I would take your soul, but I’m being nice today.”
“And spanking me is considered nice?” I snapped.
“Would you rather die?” he said then, gazing up.
I took a step back, something cold consuming me. “You can’t let me die.”
“Indeed, I cannot, therefore...” he gazed up, lifting his hand and cracking his fingers.
I swallowed something hard.
“Are you going to be a good boy and take the punishment or am I going to have to force you over my knee?” he said then.
I took another step back. “You can’t talk to your master this way.”
“Mm...” he said then, stepping toward me as he smiled, “I have to give you lessons. That’s my job as your teacher, master. I taught you almost everything to do you detective work... and you know the punishment for doing something wrong would be to get slapped on the hands, but now you lied to me? That cannot go unpunished.”
“I will hit you,” I threatened.
“Hit me all you want,” he said then, eyes glowing a slight red. “You still lied.”
I felt another wave of cold consume me, along with something dark deep inside... something burning, but I ignored it.
“If you’re so keen on me not punishing you for lying,” Dante said then, smiling as he lowered his hand, “do you promise you will hold your side of the deal from now on?”
“I don’t trust you,” I responded then.
“Master,” he said with a smile, “I never said you had to trust me. I said you had to succumb to me.”
“What does that entail?” I snapped back.
“That you stop resisting my affection like an angry child.”
“What affection?” I snapped back. “You enjoy scaring the shit out of me!”
“Indeed,” he said then, smirking as he gazed up at me. “But you do enjoy it when we snuggle, do you not?”
I stilled then, something hot and fluttery consuming me.
“Stop resisting,” he said darkly. “Stop running. You can resist me with I go too far like I just did,” he said, talking about the spanking, “if you’re uncomfrotable, yes, you can resist me, just...” he gazed up, eyes glowing a slight red, “STOP RUNNING.”
“I’m afraid of you,” I stated then.
His smile only widened a touch. “Master, I’m a demon. I kill people in the most brutal ways. I would be a touch concerned if you weren’t slightly afraid of me.”
“You make me nervous,” I said then.
“I know,” he said then, smirking, “you’re shaking like a live wire.”
“Then why are you doing this?!” I demanded.
His eyes glowed a slight red. “Because you and I both know you have a fear kink, master.”
I stilled then, entire body growing cold. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” he said then, smile darkening. “So, now... if you don’t want to be spanked, come home with me now. Willingly.” He held out his hand.
I stared down at it uneasily.
Fear kink...?
Is that why... is that why I felt all tingly inside...? And I enjoyed it?
I set my hand on his then.
I didn’t care how afraid I was right now... I really, really did not want to be spanked...
In public.
