I wake up to my familiar chipped ceiling, sighing as if it was a dream, then I feel a sharp pain in my left shoulder, I knew exactly what happened.
"Dad!" I yell, getting up slowly out of bed, I never even said he could fly my ship! Even though that wasn't the reason for my rant.
"Sal! Your alright!" Tad beamed, skidding out of the boy's room
"Where is dad!?" I order. Bill looks up from the fold out table and points into the boys room. I storm through the door to see him sitting on the top bunk, looking over something with his white magic.
"Sal, glad to see your awake." He said with a smile, climbing down.
"What were you thinking!?" I ask, putting my hands on my hips.
"I believe I was the one that taught you to fly and Tad to dress wounds, at least until you can heal yourself.
"I will do that when I know why you did that to Tad." I press on, Fate's mood instantly changes.
"It was the beginning of his training." was his answer, not helpful.
"That's the best you've got?" I ask, managing to get a sigh out of him.
"You know he's not ready, it's dangerous to start so sudden. Hell, he didn't even know we EXISTED till yesterday."I continue.
"How is it dangerous?" I heard a voice ask from around me, I turn around to see Tad in the doorway.
"I need a thicker walls." I groan, beckoning Tad inside. He followed reluctantly.
"Oh yeah, I got a gift for you three." Dad said, and with a snap of his fingers, the entire house changed, I stood in Tad and bill's room, now with two loft beds and a desk underneath. I saw 2 white doors that probably led to a bathroom and a closet.
"This is it?" I ask, looking around, it was definitely bigger, then Bill came running through a new white oak door.
"What happened!?" he yelled, that goofball smile on his face.
"Let us see." Fate said, leading Tad and I outside. I gasp when I look out onto my one-room house, was now a spacious living room added kitchen. The dining table had four seats in the corner, a small but modern kitchen was opposite it. the ladder to the outside separated it, now with padded rungs and newly polished steel suports. Then there was this door and another opposite it, then the living room with a TV above a mantle on this side, then a coffee table and a corner couch that created a half wall, a simple touch was a table lining the back of the couch, creating a breakfast bar that faces the TV.
"This is my favorite." Bill said, spinning around in one of the bar stools.
"Want to see your room, Sal?" Dad asked, leading me to the door opposite of Tad and Bill's room.
"I'm still mad at you." I grumble, hiding the excitement. I enter my room and gasp, it had a queen 4-poster and a nightstand on each side. I go over to a door on the left side, I had a small walk in closet with various shades of red and black. My liking actually.
"Why do you know me so well?" I chirp, turning to Fate, me smiles back at me.
"Think of it as a family reunion present." He responded. I run into the bathroom, there was a vanity/sink and a jet bath tub, a glass shower next to it. on the other side there was a smaller door that led to the laboratory.
"This is amazing!" I squeal, hugging Dad, I couldn't be happier I had my dream house, and my family was together again.
"Now promise me you'll answer my question." I stand on tip-toes to whisper in his ears. Dad pulled away from the hug, he looked at me solemnly.
"I think we need to talk about it with your brothers." He said, taking me into the living room. Bill stopped spinning in the barstool and Tad looked up from whatever news program he was watching.
"Come, Bill, here." Dad said, gesturing at the couch. Bill sat between Tad and I.
"I remember my mother, Destiny, said that learning your power is like riding a bike." He began. I heard the story before, but it had a different meaning now.
"Some teach themselves." Bill sat up at this, obviously happy at his success.
"Some learn over time, with help of course." This obviously meant me. As it did when I was first learning.
"And some learn a bit later then others, wanting nothing more then to succeed, even if they struggle more than others." Tad froze at the mention of his situation.
"It can take your entire life to fully master your abilities, but no matter how long it takes, everyone can go on their own 2 wheels. If they try." Dad concluded. I turn to Tad, who I noticed was looking at me. He got up from his spot on the couch and hugged me, sobbing into my good shoulder.
"I-I'm s-s-so so-sorry Sa-l-l." he heaved I put my hand on his back, letting him sit beside me and cry.
"It's ok. Shhh." I soothe, feeling bad for the big crybaby. He was sorry for hurting me yes, but more importantly, he was scared of his own power. He saw what his power he could do, the danger behind it, and wanted nothing to do with it.
"Bunch of wusses." Bill huffed, slumping back on the couch. I glare at him.
"Let us have dinner, we'll start our training tomorrow." Fate said, pulling Bill up with a hidden strength.
"Whoah." Bill said, getting on his feet.
"I made dinner before." he continued, ignoring Bill's comment. I pat Tad and lift him up and pull him away from my shoulder.
"Get some sleep, your probably exhausted. I was too after my first time using magic." I joke, Tad nodded.
"I'm hungry." he whimpered. It was like taking care of a sick puppy.
"Then let's go." I said, stroking his brown hair. We go over to the table were Bill and Fate set out some corn, mashed potatoes, and pulled pork. I was happy to see Tad had calmed down.
"Let's dig in!" Bill said, already having already filled his plate.
"Ok." me and Tad respond in unison, I sat across from Bill, Tad sat on my left, and Fate sat next to Bill. I push a button on the table and turn the TV off.
"Nice touch." I said. Fate laughed at that. We finished eating and went into our rooms. I fell asleep on the nice, soft mattress easily.
