Alex coughed and then groaned, as he sat up he felt something laying against his chest.
He winced in pain as he looked down to see Void in his lap, his skin looked almost charred with dark purple veins.
His eyes widened and he picked up Void gently before running to the black and green crystal portal, he stopped inspecting it.
It was made of green and black glass that swirled in intricate patterns. Glass orbs that looked like eyes sat in the middle of each slab. He shook his head and stepped foot into the portal instantly appearing back at their camp.
He ignored dimensional travel now, he was getting used to it. He set Void down next to the fire on some pillows before rushing to get his medical supplies.
When he returned a rush of fear ran over his body, Void's wings were unfurled, the feathers missing and leaving blackish pink skin behind. If Alex didn't hurry he would never be able to use them again.
Alex piled the aloe plants and herbs next to him, grabbing his dagger he slit open the aloe and placed them generously on Void's wings.
He then took his pot and crushed the herbs within it, panicking as he worked. He tried to remember what happened but he couldn't.
He went to the water and reached down scooping water into the bowl, that's when he noticed it.
He froze.
He had scales.
Blue and white gradient scales, they were small and in patches but they were there.
His eyes widened.
Void groaned and Alex shook his head returning to Void with the concoction in his hands, he lifted Void gently and placed the bowl to his lips.
"Drink" he said gently, even his voice seemed to sound different.
Void did so weakly and soon was talking again.
"God, I hurt" he said, Alex smiled changing the aloe every once in a while.
"What did you do? What did we do… ? " Alex asked, void's eyes darted to him.
"You don't remember? ``Then he stopped.
"Alex… Did you shape shift again? " he asked, Alex blinked.
"No? "
Void stared "then how-" he paused and Alex glanced into the reflection of the water next to them, he squeaked covering his mouth.
His hair went from light blue to dark blue at the roots and light at the tips, his ears went from normal to ears like a fish. Scales came in small patches on him and he stared at his reflection, closing his eyes he tried to focus, to change back. But it didn't work.
"Wait."
He stopped.
"Ren?"
No answer.
He stiffened, "Ren?" He repeated, still nothing. Ren would have answered by now..
He started to tremble but looked back to Void "what happened to us? Where is Endorria? " he questioned, Void stared but frowned.
"She's stuck. In a different realm now, the orb broke… I ended up like this because I'm an idiot… and you- I don't know what happened to you but I vaguely remember your eyes very eerily turning white before you passed out and dropped like a ragdoll" he said, Alex sat in silence processing the information.
"You mean… Endorria turned on us?"
Void nodded.
Alex stared "then… where did she go?" He asked, void frowned.
"She's a dragon now… "
It was silent before a twig snapped, Alex whipped around spotting a dark skinned elf dodge behind a tree in time.
His eyes widened.
Ren.
Him and Ren split.
