So this is my first day, woohoo. I have been in school for about 6 days now and I am on my first day in quarantine after testing positive for covid last night! It is so much fun sitting on zoom all day. @itsAmelia is one of my friends we have a couple of classes together and my other friend had their birthday today, which sadly I missed because I was in, you guessed it quarantine. But either way, it's pretty fun I like to crochet although I never finish anything because I always mess up at some point and find it easier to just restart from the beginning then trying to figure out where I messed up.
Today was club nomination for president and VP for the theater club at my school and the two people who I wanted to get president and VP for P and VP, I was really happy about that561Please respect copyright.PENANAtX3my6qIv8
Yesterday or maybe the day before my friends weren't feeling ok with their choir position because our new choir director swapped their positions. I am a Soprano and so is Amelia meanwhile our other friend is an Alto, and when we are together we blend REALLY well. Like we blend perfectly I am a soprano 1 I can't go a little bit higher than Amelia maybe a note or 2 higher, but our other friend can go 2-3 notes lower than I can. My other friend is an Alto and she naturally has a deep voice, but she can use her falsetto to get almost as high as Amelia and myself. Because of that, I think that is why our director mixed up Amelia and our other friend. All of that was back on Friday, now for Tuesday. both Amelia and our other friend are having to relearn the "Star Spangled Banner" and neither of them is ok nor comfortable with the part they have to sing, so was subconsciously swapping between the two parts which confused her, meanwhile our other friend just straight up wasn't going to even try to learn the new part because she wasn't comfortable with it and she couldn't hit the high notes because she was an Alto, not a Soprano, and so she was just singing the Alto part. Amelia was singing both parts and swapping to Soprano when she couldn't hit the low notes because she is a SOPRANO. And so all of this is pissing me off because the director is clearly wrong and they won't fix their mistake and swap them back.561Please respect copyright.PENANAYrSo2FLRE4
All of this time I am paying attention to our other friend because she isn't even attempting the soprano part but then after a couple of minutes of that I remembered to check in on Amelia, and I saw her face was all puffy and red, which according to her blog she didn't want me to see. But I saw her face anyways, so after we stopped for a quick break, I got up while the director was paying attention to someone else and I went and gave Amelia a hug from behind trying to calm her down, and asking if it was about the part swap because our other friend wasn't crying like Amelia but they also react to things really differently, I have only ever seen our other friend cry once, and she was struggling with the part swap, so I could tell she wasn't exactly ok either because she was kind of shutting down, like when I am "sad" or angry or not ok with something that is extremely important to me such as singing I would go into a state of mind where I could pay attention and function but I would be staring off into space and hating every second of everything, and I would reply really passive aggressively for what seems like no reason. But either way that is the vibe our other friend was giving off at the time, so I went back to my seat and frequently checked in with Amelia, and when class was over the only thing was "Are you ok?" After that, I hugged her while our other friends asked her if it was about the part swap, Amelia being Amelia replied "I'm fine, I just don't want to make a scene," Amelia is someone who acts all cheery and happy all the time but really hides her feelings, and not a lot of other's can see that unless told or do about the same thing as her. So I just gave her a hug and said "We need to talk to her about this." But we couldn't right after class because one of our classmates was talking to the director so I said I am going to email her.
After that my next period was french and we didn't do much that day so I took that period to make a draft of what each one of them could send to the director because I hope I'm not the only one when I say that your trying to help out your friend by telling your teacher something and then the teacher replies with "well why didn't they ask/tell me?" That alone just annoys me so I made one that they could customize for their own situations. Like Amelia's email would say "I am a soprano", while our other friend's email would say 'I am an Alto". So I sent that draft email to both of them and said to customize it and send it, but Amelia didn't want to cause a scene so I had to take her school computer and do it myself, and our other friend said they would do it later. I don't think they ever did send it.
Hopefully, all of this ends well and if it doesn't well I am so sorry Amelia for doing this I just wanted things to be ok for you and our friend, because both of you seemed upset, and the fact that a choir directors mistake did all of this damage, made me angry because I would have probably argued with them until I fixed everything, either that or I would silently suffer until I couldn't take it anymore and then I would actually be angry and yell at a teacher, which scares me.
