One would never think

That a friendship that sinks

Would feel so abrupt and peaceful

Because they left me to die

At the rink.

I was in a friendship that cost me,

My happiness,

One that tied me down.

They used my weaknesses against me.

I wanted more friends,

But they didn’t like the ones I chose

So they threatened to leave me alone.

If I am alone I begin to think,

The things I think begin to grow

Until they are almost out of control

My mind is not calm.

I was in 2nd grade

When a new girl came along

She was short

She made me tall

My friend made me choose.

All I could do,

Was stand frozen in time,

Tears rolled down my cheeks.

They already knew my answer

But they made me speak.

I can’t make my mind work
