Dani: "So, Kayla, that's that - in a nutshell."
Kayla Goodman: "Wow. You managed to tell me your entire situation during one car ride."
Dani: "In a strange way it's actually quite simple - the time traveling that Aurora and I do."
Kayla: "Sure is. I'm not being a smart Alec. Yet, even now, you haven't told me why you are so ill."
Dani: "There's been a double of me created in a different time stream, or some such thing."
Kayla: "Another one? A Xerox photocopy of my best pal that I am talking to right this second?"
Dani: "Exactly, and since we coexist it's like we're slowly poisoning each other to death."
Kayla: "That's why you're so physically spent without a stimulant boost? That's all there is to it?"
Dani: "She's also suffering - causing me pain too - from being tortured in her time stream."
Kayla: "I seriously, sincerely, don't want to hear about torture. I hope you can understand why."
Dani: "I think she's in a dark place, Kayla, without food and water. I can actually sense it."
Kayla: "What can you do? Apologies. Seemingly, only questions are coming out of my mouth."
Dani: "Maybe there's nothing I can do, but I've been sending thoughts of encouragement."
Kayla: "Let me get this straight: You can send this other woman messages with your thoughts?"
Dani: "Yes, and with the vague responses I'm getting, I think she is comprehending them."
Kayla: "Great. What is the gist of these messages you have been sending this other Dani?"
Dani: "I told her to pretend like she's been broken by all the starvation, just pretend to be."
Kayla: "Okay, so when are you going to stop pretending - and start being honest with Aurora?"
Dani: "What are you accusing me of? I've been very honest and forthcoming with Aurora."
Kayla: "No, you're being Denial Smurf, all shrunken and blue. Tell her you have feelings for her."
Dani: "You may know me. You don't know her. This is unrequited lust. I certainly want-"
