Time: About four hours since Kayla first took Dani to travel to Dani's childhood home

Dani: "Aurora, why were you on the other side of the parking lot in that police car?"
Aurora: "The officer was ensuring my safety. I think I know what you have been doing."
Dani: "What are you saying? Kayla and I were acting friendly, catching up for half an hour."
Aurora: "I know when people have been intimate. Also, I have been thinking why you are sick."
Dani: "Let's change both those subjects. I'm not going to go over intimacy and or sickness."
Aurora: "Well, I have been pondering whether you have the same condition that afflicted Toru."
Dani: "I said we are not going to talk about that. Look, Kayla gave me some caffeine pills."
Aurora: "In the future I suppose people no longer feel a need for coffee, or even tea in England."
Dani: "No, people love those two drinks a lot. The pills should - will - help me stay awake."
Aurora: "Did you see your family? The reason for our visit to New York City in 2007 was that."
Dani: "Yes, I did. You're actually a very considerate person. A creative problem solver too."
Aurora: "There was no problem to solve. I thought you might like one more chance to see them."
Dani: "Of course. They die in 2010, three years from now. Later in the year I meet Toru."
Aurora: "Listen, since I am getting us further out to the ocean tell me more specifics about him."
Dani: "When we were in 2088 Yvonne Petal told me Toru had been a dystopian novelist."
Aurora: "Wait, is seemingly everyone a dystopian novelist in the future?"
Dani: "Maybe all these stories are only kind of dystopian, though all have strange settings."
Aurora: "The book '1Q84' was on the laptop. I skimmed it last night while you slept. It was odd."
Dani: "Be that as it may, Toru was a writer that realized his novel was transforming a-"
Aurora: "I know about that part. Tell me what Toru was like when you first met him, Dani."
Dani: "Toru told me he was a time-traveler, and that he had a terminal medical condition."
Aurora: "It almost sounds like you blindly accepted that what he was telling you was the truth."
Dani: "My aunt and my sis had died. To keep my mind occupied I worked at a coffee shop."
Aurora: "Again, I am sorry to hear... How did you become convinced he was telling the truth?"
Dani: "Toru took me to this two-person kayak he had. Then we jumped to New York City."
Aurora: "Well, before engaging you he must have visited Yvonne Petal to tell her he was dying."
