"No! Wait!" Caden wanted to stop the archers from firing a volley of arrows at the tower, but it was too late.
However, the invisible barrier around the dark figure near the artefact stopped the arrows. Then, as a rolling wave, the deep voice was heard, "Hahahahaa. Poor mortals, your void races have long been against me. Shiver in fear, your true god has returned!"
"By all the Saints... Officer, did you send someone for reinforcements?" the warden shouted.
"Yes, sir, they will be here in a few hours."
"Great. In fact, with what we're left with here, we will not hold even a quarter of an hour..."
"The Wall doesn't have defenders or what?" Merill asked.
"Of course it does, but general Jedar asked for the support of the Wall's guardians. The most elite soldiers are now with him," the warden explained.
"So we have to get those few hours," Caden said.
The sound of drums was heard in the distance.
"Damn! There is nothing to see from the Wall, but I hear at least a few dozen drums, it will be a large army," the warden said. "As soon as they break the Wall, it's all over," the warden added.
Caden drew his sword and stood on the wall battlements.
"What are you doing by all the Saints?" the warden asked.
"I'm getting us some time!" Caden jumped from the Wall into the clouds of ash through which nothing was visible.
"Are you all so crazy?" the warden asked.
"Only those of his family," Stephan said and jumped too.
"Well, thank you so much... So Mormir is left for me," Merill grabbed his sword and walked to the tower with the artefact.
Caden used his power to ease his fall just above the ground and landed slightly. In front of him stood a group of confusedly-looking Dark Ones with scarves over their mouths and two swords.
"Right, fear me, fools! Under my sword, you'll fall like... What the..." Caden thought about the approaching scream and fell on the ground.
Stephan hit him.
"Fuh... I survived!" Stephan stood up. "Uh... Caden... Caden, stop fooling around, there are the Dark Ones!" Stephan shouted.
Caden was slowly getting up, and Stephan plunged into the fight. When Caden finally stood up, he began with killing the Dark Ones with his power.
"What are you doing here by all the Saints?!" Caden asked.
"If you want to commit suicide, then only with me!" Stephan replied.
"You're insane, Stephan. I can't protect you while fighting. Go back!"
"Yeah? And how? Have I ever asked for your protection?" Stephan said angrily.
Caden stopped the flying arrow with his power, just a step before Stephan.
"That was a coincidence! You're distracting me..." Stephan defended himself.
"This was just a vanguard. Listen, what ability do you have? Are you also a telepath?" Caden asked.
"I... no, I'm not a telepath, it's a bit strange..."
"We'd quite need something, at least!"
They both stepped forward in front of the Wall of Sorrow, a Dark One's army stood in front of them.
Caden picked up ash with his power.
"Do you want to throw sand at them? This will be better," Stephan laughed, while he was casting the lightning into the ashes, Caden sent the cloud of ash and lightning to the Dark One's horde.
"So lightning? I haven't seen that before!" Caden smiled.
"Not only the lightning…" Stephan began to cast a wind that turned into a tornado and sent it on the Dark Ones.
"And this was what?" Caden asked.
"You know... I'm an elementary mage, I can handle all the elements."
"That exists? And are you really telling me now?" Caden was angry.
"Before it wasn't the right time," Stephan replied and continued to cast his spells.
But suddenly all beliefs fell, a wave of some kind of energy destroyed all the tornadoes.
"Your spells won't help you against us," one of the Dark mages came forward.
"Well, if you think so," Caden grabbed his sword and ran against the army.
"Damn madman!" Stephan followed him.
"Uh... And what do I do, sir?" Elard asked the warden, who looked at him for a moment.
"Let the Saints forgive me... Take my helmet."
"Sorry, what?" Elard asked.
"Put on my helmet. The first warden that will see you will try to kill you," the warden explained.
"Well, you're probably right, thanks."
"Even if your two fools hold back the Dark One's army, they can't keep everyone from the Wall. I'm going to defend the northern edge of the Wall, you go to the south!" the warden ordered and they both went on the edges of the Wall.
"Mormir! What are you doing here?!" Merill reached the tower.
"Go home, Merill..." Mormir replied.
"I don't have a home, my home was in Oakdome."
"Then just leave this place!" Mormir looked exhausted, probably because he was blocking the artefact.
"No, Mormir. Stop this madness! I won't let you unleash those monsters into the Empire!" Merill shouted.
"I have no choice," Mormir replied.
"But you have! Cassandra went to save you into the land of demons!" Merill continued.
Mormir closed his eyes and the tear dropped off his cheek, then his eyes darkened and he attacked Merill.
"Stop it, Mormir! I don't want to kill you, but I'll do it if you make me!" Merill screamed.
"You can never defeat me!" Mormir said in a deep, unnatural voice.
While Merill fought Mormir, an entire army rushed to Caden and Stephan under the Wall. They both tirelessly tried to cast some spell, but they were all swept away by the Dark mages.
"Well, this is not honourable at all!" Stephan shouted.
"You have to get rid of those mages," Caden said.
"Are you crazy? Should I run in there?!" Stephan refused.
"You're right, I'll do it alone. You'll deal with the rest of the army," Caden proclaimed.
"Okay, okay, I'll do it!" Stephan changed his mind.
Caden smiled wickedly. "Okay, attack from somewhere, I'll lure as many of the Dark Ones as I can," Caden explained.
Stephan grabbed his staff and rose from the ground.
"What are you doing?!" Caden shouted.
"Oh, I didn't tell you? I kept one broken crystal, with which I can transport on a short distance," Stephan explained.
"I thought that, if something was broken, it won't work!" Caden replied.
"Well, it doesn't work!" Stephan laughed and disappeared.
Caden embarked on a battle with the Dark One's horde, which already stood just before him.
"Uhh... Where... am I?" Stephan appeared in emptiness, all around him was only whiteness. "It probably doesn't work at all..." Stephan whispered to himself and walked through the emptiness. "By all the Saints... Cassandra?"
Cassandra hovered in the strange magical handcuffs before him. Stephan touched the handcuffs reminiscent of running water and got a weak shock.
A strange dark creature lurched to him. "Step back, human! You'll have to kill me to free her. And if you kill me, your friend Mormir will die!" the creature said in a hoarse voice.
Stephan laughed, grabbed the staff and slammed the creature into the head, the stunned creature fell on the ground.
"Cassandra! Wake up!"
"What... Stephan! Did they get you too?" Cassandra asked.
"No, I came to save you. The crystal is weak, but there's something powerful around here that makes it possible for the crystal to bring me here," Stephan explained.
"Where's Mormir?" Cassandra asked.
"The last time I saw him, he didn't look very friendly, he's on a tower with the artefact now."
"What tower?" Cassandra was confused.
"The one on Wall of Sorrow."
"What!? No... we have to stop him!" Cassandra shouted.
"What's gotten into you?"
"Mormir is somehow controlled by Mor'lak. He's doing it for me. They said they will kill me if he won't do it," Cassandra explained.
"And what should he do?" Stephan asked.
"Summon Mor'lak again," Cassandra replied.507Please respect copyright.PENANALMPGEb9T0W
