"Wake up!" the watchman shouted through the corridor.
Caden got up, put on his stone collar and locked it. Every day was like the first one except for Caden's headache and constant whispering.
"Caden!"
"Ehmm... What? What is it?"
"You're totally out of your mind, are you okay?" Tom asked worriedly.
"Kill them..." was heard in his head.
"What?!" Caden shouted.
"Don't yell at me, I'm just asking. You look like a walking corpse," Tom replied.
"I'm digging in the mine, that's normal," Caden replied.
"Oh yeah, yeah... I just wanted to help, you know I can't see into your head," Tom said.
"Sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me..." Caden grabbed his head.
"You're a slave. You have enslaved your own race!" a voice shouted in his head again.
Caden reached out and struck Amaganite with a pickaxe using all his strength.
"Boy, you really don't look good. Aren't you sick?" Sevir added.
"Nothing it's... Nothing," Caden said exhaustingly.
Caden was tortured with voices in his head for days, it was survivable during the day. But at night they were clearly heard, and every night they were louder, supported by terrifying visions.
"Caden!" Amelia shouted.
"Everyone's dying. And you're just lying there, they are throwing you meat like you're a dog!"
"Help me, please. Save us..." Amelia was crawling on the ground in a burning city, while the shout was heard, "Fire!" Shots were heard, Caden woke up, like many times, many nights.
The following nights he had more and more visions, and all his loved ones appeared in them.
"I could have been alive. If you did something, but you just stood there..." Elard said.
"I'm glad Mormir and your father don't see this. They would have died in shame," Stephan stepped in front of him and tore the ribbon from his sleeve.
Caden's mind was filled with self-accusation, fear, regret, sadness and anger. Caden no longer knew what he was feeling, whether he was awake or dreaming, he was sure of just one thing, that he is going to be insane soon.
"We should call a doctor," Sevir complained.
Caden looked at him with a pleading expression. "I have to get out of here, I'll die here."
"It won't be easy, Caden..."
"If I'll let you out of the collar, will you come with me?" Caden asked.
"Of course, but nobody can do such a thing. Only in the evening, and even the grids contain Amaganite," Sevir replied.
"I can do it..." Caden said.
This night was calm.
Alger appeared before Caden in his dream. "You can do it, my son. Free your people. Finish what we started, what we gave our lives for."
Caden opened his eyes, he felt the sudden power awakening in him. "The power of the Dark mages cannot be limited by anyone but the mage himself," Caden repeated to himself, greatly disturbing the nearby guard who had come to see him.
"Are you all right?" the watchman asked.
Caden smiled ominously. "Of course I am, and you?" Subsequently, Caden used his power to tear the cell door and pushed them against the watchmen.
"By the Saints what are..." the other watchman didn't complete the sentence when Caden grabbed his neck and his eyes darkened. "Your Saints won't help you."
A crunch was heard, the watchman fell on the ground.
Caden opened all the cells with his power. The mages began to run out and fight the watchmen.
"Alarm! Prisoners are escaping! Revolt!!" the running watchman shouted.
A group of watchmen took up the shield formation and set up spears in front of them, in the tunnel where the mages led by Caden were heading. At that moment the mages of nature took advantage of their strength, and the formation was crushed by roots summoned from all sides of the tunnel. The rest of the watchmen used all they had, they were throwing potions and even raw Amaganite at the mages, but they could not resist.
"Retreat!" the watchman shouted and ran away to the other side.
The tunnels began to crumble, and the mages fled their way.
But Caden followed the watchman. He led him to another, a narrower tunnel that led up to the stairs. Caden walked over them to the large familiar building. Caden went on and went to the circular room, where Jedar stood.
"Ah... Caden, how did you get in here?"599Please respect copyright.PENANABctmAiN0zQ
