My head throbbed. I winced at the pain,my body was sore.
"Aneira,we're here." Mum whispered.
The car rocked from side to side as it hit the rocky road. We made our way up the gravel road to a shack house. It was rectangle and the only support holding it up was four planks. The paint needed to be re-done,it was peeling from every side. The door swung open as a plump women in a red dress and white apron with a sagging brown bun came outside with her short arms wide open.
"Aneira!" The plump women said.
"Aunti! I'm happy to see you." I said yawning.
She laughed sweetly and brought me into a warm, soft hug.
Aunti gasped and ran to Mum relizing she was standing there.
Mum chuckled,"Aunti,remember our talk yesterday?"
"Yes." Aunti sighed.
I frowned,I thought Mum wasn't here yesterday.
"Are you good?" Mum asked.
"Yes,"Aunti sighed,"Just dealing with a annoying husband and those cats under the grove, they never leave, this ain't a shelter!" Aunti screamed turning her head to the woods.
Mum laughed,I grinned.
"Pa!" Aunti screamed shuffiling to the wide door.
"Yes Aunti?" A soft vioce responded.
A man with a scraggly beard in trousers stepped out on the creaking steps.
"Come get Aneira's bags!" Aunti screamed shuffiling to the car door.
Pa saw me and embraced me
"Aneira! How are you?" Pa said.
I laughed as his beard tickled my head,"I'm doing well."
"Good,good,good."
Pa led me down the hall and into a bedroom,he set my stuff down and sighed looking around the room,"This used to be your Mother's."
I smiled looking around, there was a wood, queen bed with white fluffy sheets. At the end of the bed was a wood chest. A chair sat in the far corner with a long mirror. A window with white curtains hung by the bedside. A white desk sat under the window. A bookcase, across from it held many books waiting to be read.
"Make yourself comfterable, your Mum will come in to see you in a few minutes." Pa said kissing me tenderly on the head.
"Okay" I said.
After I unpacked,I lied on the bed looking up at the cieling fan. It hummed making the silence in the room not too loud.
The door creaked open and I sat up. It was Mum,she looked even more tired than when I saw her,she gave me a weak smile. I exchanged one as well.
"Do you like the room? I used to sleep here." Mum said sitting on the bed as it tipped.
"Yeah,Pa told me it was yours." I said looking around.
"Aneira,I want you to be good for Aunti and Pa. I want you to be brave while I'm gone."466Please respect copyright.PENANAnkkdHmISqw
I smiled,"Of course,Mum. But where will you be?" I asked almost pleading with my eyes for the answer I had hoped for all day.
"Nothing." She said softly grabbing my cheek,"Don't worry about it Aneira."
I hugged her, trying to block the tears that longed to come out. I sighed defeated.
"Oh come on,give me a smile." Mum said standing up.
I smiled.
"A real one." Mum said almost reading my mind.
I sighed,and smiled,for real this time.
"Good, stay strong for me,Aneria. I'll be back." Mum said kissing my cheek.
"Bye Mum,I love you."
"I love you to..........."
