It wrapped around her ankle, yanking her from her feet and hoisting her up into the air in front of it's snarling maw.
Nu screamed, punching and kicking as if it would make a difference. The thing's hot breath on her face was rank, and made her want to gag. She could feel the acid of the creature's saliva start to burn through her woolen linens, singeing her skin painfully. One of her kicks hit the one of the Umbra's teeth, knocking it clean out, but the creature barely even flinched.
"I wonder how you taste~" The tongue raised her up, as if showing off it's prize to the others before slowly lowering her towards it's mouth.

The creature shrieked, the same high pierced scream Nu remembered hearing before she found her companions. She was just barely able to cover her ears as the thing dropped her, it's tongue darting back inside it's mouth.

She spotted the tooth she had knocked out earlier on the ground between two of the creatures, and realized it was likely sharper than any makeshift weapon they could find in this place.
