That night Magpie was able to get a bit of shut-eye until she noticed Nu sneaking silently out of the room. Once she closed the door, Magpie stood up and stretched to rid the drowsiness. There is still a lot to process for her. Such as what they call a bed. She was accustomed to a crude and harsh life and not this luxury or whatever it may be. Her definition of a bed is with meagre wooden frame with hay and a few wool blankets, but this sort of bed was alright to sleep on.504Please respect copyright.PENANAqH7cYWlw6w
On the other hand, Nu suggested her wearing some different clothes since these are torn, but Magpie can't get over it. She bought them with hard-earned coins or instead stolen coins. Magpie scoffed silently to the thought and walked over to the window. The sun was rising on the horizon. At least this world has one thing similar, the sun. In the distance, she heard birds singing and spotted at a building across the street a bluetit. She sighed and smiled content at sight. She was adoring its blue and yellow feathers and how it hops about before flying away. If only I had wings to fly and be free. Immediately She recalled Senshi having faery wings and grew a bit envious to the thought.
Suddenly there was a loud crash from behind her and heard the blood-curdling shrieking voice speaking. Quickly Magpie grabbed her sword and paced towards the door. Before she could open the door, Nu stood there slightly out of breath and in a different dress. Pretty but not the right place and time in Magpie's opinion. "We must go," Nu noted slightly out of breath.
"I've figured that much." Magpie stepped out and saw an evil creature on the ground. There was still smoke protruding from Vandal's weapon that he prefers to call Leonette. "Taken care of?" She asked Vandal.
Vandal nodded.
"Where are the others?" Asked Magpie.
Nu shrugged her shoulders.
"So much for holding together." Muttered Magpie.
"What?" Wondered Vandal.
"I think we should stick together." Magpie grins.
"Sure but I don't know where the others are. Perhaps leave a note to hint where we're at?" Suggested Nu.
"Sounds good until Cordis finds it." Reminded Magpie concerned. "However, we can't stay here for long. Grab what you can carry and let's go."
"Where to?" Vandal stepped in.
"Anywhere but here and the warehouse. If you know a place, I'm all ears." Magpie places her hands to her hips after strapping on her sword.
Nu and Vandal exchanged questioned and concerned glances. "Where would you head to?" Asked Vandal.
"I'll know it when I see it." She sensed doubt in their eyes. "In my world, I was known for my stealth and caution. After all, I'm a thief, and a thief can always adjust to the environment." She winks at them to assure.
"I suggest you and Nu scout ahead while I hold the ground here until the others return."
"But you're alone-" Nu stepped closer to Vandal.
"You know of the whereabouts, but Magpie doesn't. Secondly, I've handled that monster easily." Vandal cut in Nu's sentence.
With a heavy sigh, Nu gave the nod in agreement.
Quickly Magpie unstrapped her dagger and sheath from her boot. "Take this; it'll help you."
"Keep it. Isn't it your favourite dagger?" Vandal refuses to take it.
"Keep it until we meet again, hopefully soon." Grinned Magpie warmly. As Nu began to walk ahead, Magpie whispered to him. "I'll keep her safe with my life as long you return the dagger on our next encounter. I know you like her." Quickly Magpie ran off to catch up with Nu at the stairs. "So Nu, where shall we start?" She grinned at her warmly, trying to contain her excitement for an exploration.
"Well, I thought about checking out the neighbourhood."
"Not the houses (buildings) right next to it? Too risky, we need to explore the houses further." Magpie pauses. "Come to think of it, what do you know of Cordis?"
Nu flinched at the name. "I only know he can look like Jayden and control the monsters."
Magpie fell silent in thought.
"Why do you ask?" Wonders Nu with a forced grin.
"There's an old saying where I come from, know your enemy. The dragons said that. That way, we will know what to look for in our new hideout and maybe have the element of surprise."
"Makes sense, but it will be tricky to find one."
"Let's see what this world has to offer." Magpie winks at her. "Come on; time is ticking." She sprints off.
"Hey, wait!" Called after Nu and runs after. She tried to keep up with Magpie but always remained a few paces behind. After a while running and looking around for a new hideout, Nu almost ran into Magpie. "Sorry." She muttered.
"I hope it's colour." Spoke Magpie with a stern expression. She crouched down, dipped with a finger into the red colour and held it up to her nose. "The blood is still wet, must have happened recently."

- ask Nu's opinion
"What do you think, Nu? Should we follow the blood trail? Are you ready to possibly encounter another shrieking creature?" Magpie turned to her.
Nu swallowed to her question and gave a brief hesitant nod.
"I've got your back, Nu." Assured Magpie with a grin and tapped the hilt of her sword.
In silence, they followed the blood and soon found Senshi unconscious. Nu immediately checked on her for wounds but was confused not to find anything or even a scratch. Magpie gently shook her wake by the shoulders. Slowly Senshi began to groan and open her eyes. Magpie and Nu gave a brief sigh of relief. "Why are you guys here?" Asked Senshi drowsily.
"I'll explain later. Can you get up and walk?" Said Magpie. Deep inside, Magpie hoped the others are alright.
