The man on the ground seemed to regain consciousness, thank goodness! He seemed startled by Nu's presence, scrambling away and mumbling something before getting distracted by a strange device in his hand.
Nu took some deep breaths, not even realizing she was fidgeting, as a dark-haired figure approached. His stance was non-threatening, but she got the feeling he could still do some damage if he wanted to. Like the injured man, he didn't have any sort of marking or tattoo on his face. He stood nearby with his arms crossed, watching.
"Um..." she said nervously, not quite sure how to start this conversation with two strangers. Hi, I'm Nu. Are we dead? She almost didn't want to know the answer.
Thankfully, the injured man spoke up first, putting the device back in his pocket. "Hey. This is a longshot," he asked as he sat down, "but do you know anything about this place or what might have brought us here? Same questions go for you too," he added, addressing the newcomer. "I'm guessing you ran into one of those things as well, huh? Good to see you managed to get away a lot more successfully than myself..."
Nu was confused as the injured man gestured at the wound on his stomach. The other two had seen... something? Fought something??487Please respect copyright.PENANAgIH5VAY448
Suddenly self-conscious, Nu touched the birthmark on her cheek. Thankfully she hadn't run into anything dangerous while she was wandering the warehouse. Without any powers and without a weapon, she would have been injured a lot worse than the man standing in front of her.
"Also, have either of you noticed anything... out of place?" The man continued.487Please respect copyright.PENANAaDLlAq6lov
"Out of place?" Nu asked, still not understanding.
He nodded. "You know, anything strange? Then again, all this might seem kinda strange, huh?" he chuckled at his own joke, one that Nu didn't understand or find funny.
"I suppose... This is all very strange." She admitted. "The last thing I remember was nearly drowning in the river then I woke up here, in a metal box alone in the dark."
The blond man she was talking to seemed upset by her answer. He appeared to flinch - perhaps from his injuries? - and he seemed lost in thought.
"Um... excuse me?" Nu said to get his attention. "What should we call you? I'm Nuallis, but Nu is good too." She looked over at the dark-haired man, prompting him.
"Vandal."
"Well, given the current circumstances, it's nice to make your acquaintance. I'm Jayden," said the blond man.
"We really should get both of your wounds tended to," Nu implored, motioning at Jayden's injuries and Vandal's wrists. "I'm not a water-healer like my mother but I know a few things, and I have some experience with burns," she said with a slight smile. "Has anyone seen any water?"
