Three months Later
I take deep breath in, and then let it out, hands gripping the steering wheel.
"Is it almost time?" She asks.
"Yeah, it is. They should be here soon." I respond looking to her.
She smiles back. "I'm glad we're somewhat friends, Libby."
"Me to, Sherbet."
"I'm happy you came and saw me three months ago."
"I'm happy you let me stay with you, that your folks did."
"They're good people."
"Yeah, they are."
She picks up her iced coffee and takes a sip. She offers it to me, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, I guess." I respond taking it from her and have a sip.
I almost gag. "A bit strong for you liking?" She laughs. "Yeah. Keep it." I respond handing it back to her just as I see a few travel coaches pull up to the front of the school and I can see kids everywhere.
"There they are." She says. "You want to say go hi?"
"Uh, in a bit. They won't be leaving for a while, I just need a moment."
"I get that."
We take a while and then climb out the ute, our ute, a new ute, purple as Becky's red ute was totaled and Shelby and me needed a way generally to get around as I took off to be with her hours away from here.
I took off from the hospital, Mel saw me and tried to talk me out of leaving, said there was help avaible. I didn't want to hear anything she had to say.
Being Ender Falls was just to painful for me, I slept under Shelby's parents roof the last three months, they let me stay and I went and did the certificate I needed because I didn't finish high school.
There we're a few hurdles to overcome, but I managed and I'm enrolled in University and studying Psychology. Shelby's parents, Rain and Sebastian helped me to fill out all the forms to enroll in university and apply for student loans.
And now Shelby and me are here, we drove a few miles to Ender Falls and are waiting for Kacey and Ian with Zecky.
I miss his little face, the way his tail wags and so on. "It's now or never, Libby." Shelby speaks up.
We head over to near the buses and I see our graduating year turn to look at us. "Libby, Shelby." Says Aiden's Dad, Mel is here too.
A few social service workers, teachers and some other parents. "Are you okay, honey? You ran away." Mel speaks up, reaching out to touch my arm.
"Don't touch me." I tell her, pulling away. "If she doesn't want you to touch her, don't touch her." Shelby steps in.
Aiden's Dad sighs. "I'm sorry how things played out, Libby in the end. I realize there is nothing anyone could say or do to make this better for you."
"I'm just here to see Kacey and Ian. I also want my dog, Zekey back." I tell them.
"What are you doing with your life? Can I ask?" Mel wonders.
"I did what I needed to graduate high school and I've applied to University, I got in."
"What are you studying?"
"Psychology."
"Lovely-"
"No more questions, I'm done. I'm out." And I walk away from them, Shelby following me.
"Ian, Kacey." I say and they turn to look at me. They've changed a little since I last saw them.
Kacey eyes are in awe, just looking at me. Ian holds out a dog cage. Shelby takes it from him for me.
"So, what now?" Ian speaks up slowly. "Yeah, you took off without a word and didn't call or text us." Kacey snaps.
I have nothing to say. "Can we talk about this later guys? It's going to be alot to work through." Shelby speaks up.
"Do you want a lift?" I ask, gesturing to the Ute.
"Yeah." Kacey responds. "Beats a bus."
And the Twins follow me and Shelby to the Ute.

Five years later
I pull the knife out of my cookie themed birthday cake, give Kacey 23 kisses on the lips because the knife came out dirty and because that's how old I am now. Her and me tied the knot around two years actually.
Our relationship worked out and, then, I saunter over to the window of our shared dorm room to look out the window at the busy street below because it's raining. People are running for shelter, bright umbrellas everywhere, leaving Kacey to strike up a conversation with her brother.
While they giggle away, I stuff another forkful of cake in my mouth and flip to the next page of my Psychology text-book I was reading before that I left on the bay window and then take a seat. I'm in my last year of University now for Psychology.
Life has had it's up and downs.
I want to focus on my studies, but I feel something prying on my mind and look over to my bedside table near by bed and where there is a blank book I keep important things in from my past such as photos, newspaper clippings, Becky's old ID and stuff before I filed an official name change. There is even some letters from Becky's Dad, his still in jail for murder. A life setence. Him and me don't have a relationship.
It's hard not to think about the past from time to time, things never get easier, but it did get a bit betrer But if I dwell on the past, I'll never keep moving forward.
And then I feel a buzzing in my pocket. Pulling out my new mobile phone I purchased after I ran away, but with Becky's old sim card still in it, I see it's a private number and I answer.
"Hello?"
"Yes, early evening. This is Officer Munroe from Specality Field's - Central Police Station. Can I speak with Libby Biscuit, please?"
"Speaking."
"Uh, great! I have a Veronica and Mitchell here at the station with me. There just in a bit of trouble and I asked if there was anyone I could call for them. They were reluctant to give me a name and number at first, but eventually relented and gave me your name and number, but said they were unsure if it would work."
"What do you need from me?" I ask, trying to keep my composure even though my heart is thumping a million miles an hour in my chest. "Can I ask who you are? Are you a family member? Are you willing to pay bond for them to get out?"
"I'm something like that, but I've haven't seen them since I was 17 years old."
"Wow, long time ago I see..."
"Yeah, it can be really easy to fall out of contact with people. Believe me, I know... There's not a day that goes bye where I don't miss people who had been in my life at one point or another, Veronica and Mitchell included."
"Anyway, they have just been picked up and brought in for stalking, kidnapping, drug and fire-arm possession. We're still trying to sort the situation out as there's a couple other parties involved, but it's looking like their only actual charges pertaining to them are drug and fire-arm possession. We can just issue them a court appearence date at the moment and let them go, but someone has to pay their bail.
Are you willing to pay their bail, Libby? If you come down to the station we can discuss it more."
"Uh, okay. I'll be down there in the next 15-25 minutes, I just need to drop by a bank and withdraw a fair amount. Tell them I will want to talk them."
"I imagine."
And then I hang up.
"What was that about?"
I turn around in my seat to see Ian and Kacey there, curious. "I have to go out, something urgent came up. I promise I'll be back before 7." I tell them.
Well... Alright, we trust you. Stay safe, okay?" Ian says and they both hug me. I take a rain-coat, umbrella and bag, complete with phone, keys, wallet and my ID, then head to the door and look over my shoulder. "And I might be bringing some friends back with me." I add to their astonishment and then I pull the door closed, not giving them a second to ask anything and head out onto the wet streets alone in wet weather and open my umbrella, showcasing the fact that's it's light purple with a pair of angel wings printed on it.119Please respect copyright.PENANAocl4A1hg99
