Edward didn't know who he wanted to direct his anger towards. Gabriel, Aaron, or Sarah. Gabriel had been attempting to sabotage his family, Aaron was sleeping with his wife, and Sarah had, once more, broken her vows to Edward and went behind his back to be with another man. He clenched his fist around the steering wheel as he sped down the highway. He didn't know what he was planning on doing. He wanted to kill all three of them.
Snow pelted his car. The roads were covered in snow, with a thin layer of ice underneath. Needless to say, the weather was not favorable for Edward's temper.
He just couldn't believe it. Everything they had been building these last several months. They were finally happy together. He had given up drinking, he had become a father to Lillian, and he treated Sarah right. Why would she do this to him again? Was the only way to keep her from betraying him to treat her like the despicable, horrible human being that she was?
It didn't matter. Edward would confront her and Aaron and he would ensure that Sarah would never be in his life again. He tried. He tried to make it work but she threw it all away once again. It wasn't so much that she cheated again that upset Edward. It was that he allowed his expectations of her to rise once more and she took it and stomped it into the ground. If anything, he was relieved that he would be done with her after today. Hell could have the both of them.
Aaron's house was about ten miles from the mansion and about another ten miles from Matthewsville. Normally it would have been like a ten minute drive, twenty or so with the roads being as bad as they were. However, Edward was quickly turning that ten to twenty minute drive into five. He had punched Pierce in the face. Aaron would be a pushover compared to that man.

Sarah exited the shower, the stream rising from her body as she took one step on to the bath rug. Aaron exited right after and put his arms around her waist and kissed her neck. The kiss was sensational to her. Edward and Ethan never made her feel the way that Aaron had. But she couldn't help but feel the guilt. She knew what she was doing. She knew that it was wrong. Yet, she just couldn't help herself.
Perhaps Edward was right; she was a terrible person. But, despite everything, she couldn't bring herself to love Edward as much as she so desperately tried to. Despite everything Edward had done for her, she couldn't love him. Aaron, however, she could love. He was kind, gentle, funny, attractive, and knew his way around her. There was so many words that she could use to describe him - describe what he did. It just felt right.
But Sarah knew that if Edward was to ever find out, there would be no forgiveness. She would have destroyed the last remnants of her relationship with him and likely even her children. If God was good, perhaps Edward would never know.
A crazed scream came from outside. Sarah looked to Aaron who's face went puzzled. He pulled his towel off and put on his underwear and jeans. Sarah was still wrapped up in her air when she heard pounding at the door. Aaron left the bathroom to go answer and Sarah knew, she had been caught.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Open the fucking door, right fucking now!" Edward screamed as he pounded on the door.
Another moment and Edward would have began kicking it down. Aaron open the door a crack and looked out at Edward.
"Oh, Edward," Aaron said relieved. "I thought someone else was trying to break in."
Edward felt every muscle in his body tense up. He pressed his teeth together, his brow furrowed, and his breathing amped up. "Where is she?" He said
Aaron looked at him. "She? Edward, who are you talking about?"
"Don't fucking play stupid with me. I know Sarah is here and I know that she's a cheating whore. Now fucking tell me where she is!"
"Edward... I... I just got out of the shower, I don't..."
Edward kicked the door and knocked Aaron to the ground. He looked to the floor, seeing a trail of water leading back to Aaron's bedroom, where the bathroom also was located. It was slightly cracked and, not giving Sarah the chance to hide, he swung the door open to catch her in front of the sink, looking petrified.
There was no emotion running through Edward's body, except pure unfiltered anger. It was the kind of anger where he could drown her and feel nor remorse for his actions. It was the kind of anger where he could light this entire house on fire and feel satisfaction in Aaron and Sarah begging for help.
He stood there, looking at her. In some way, Edward still felt a little hope that she wouldn't be here. He was hoping Gabriel was lying and Sarah would be at dinner with friends. Edward had caught her and, now, he felt the rage burn ever hotter.
"Edward... I..."
He put his hand up. Every urge in his body wanted him to grab her hair and throw her into the counter top. The thought of smashing her pretty little face against the counter almost made him smile. But that wasn't the kind of man Edward was. He took several steps back into the bedroom where Aaron was now standing in the doorway to the hall.
"Edward, I need you to get out of my house, now," Aaron said.
Edward wouldn't dare hurt a woman, nevertheless his wife. However, he felt so such hesitation for Aaron. He stood still, looking blankly at the wall. Taking several deep breaths, Edward lunged at Aaron and threw him to the floor.
"Edward, stop!" Sarah screamed.
But he couldn't hear her. Every fiber of his being only focused on Aaron. He wouldn't kill him, but he was going to hurt him. He wrapped his hands around Aaron's neck, lifted his head, and slammed it back into the ground, repeatedly. The cracking of Aaron's skull filled Edward with pleasure. No matter how hard Aaron tried to struggle, his strength was no match compared to Edward's. Adrenaline course through Edward and no one could stop him, except for himself.
He picked up Aaron and threw him into the wall.
"Please Edward, stop! Please!" Sarah screamed once more.
He punched Aaron several times on the jaw, blood splattering across the floor. Maybe he was going to kill him...
A loud ringing noise sounded against the back of Edward's skull and he felt his body go limp as he fell to the floor. Aaron fell to the ground as well, gasping for air.
"Agh, what the fuck?" Edward muttered. He looked up to see Sarah holding a metal rod for holding up towels.
He slowly stood up and yanked the rod out of her hand, throwing it to the side.
"After everything we've been through, everything I did to make you happy, you cheated on me again," Edward said, rubbing the back of his head. "I quit drinking, I cared for Lillian, I forgave you for Ethan."
"I know, Edward. I'm sorry"
Edward slowly walked towards her as she backed up towards the other wall. "I took care of us, I protected us, and I loved you." A small tear ran down his cheek. "But I should have known, shouldn't I have? I should have known that you would destroy everything again. I should have known that I would find you at another man's house. Once a whore, always a whore."
He sobbed and hit his head with the palm of hand. "Stupid. I'm so fucking stupid to have trusted you."
Then, the rage returned. He pressed her up against the wall, not quite squeezing onto her neck. She squeaked and had tears coming out of her eyes. Edward wanted to press his hands in at tight as he could. He wanted to see the life leave her eyes. Instead, he kissed her on the cheek and released her.
It was done. His point was made and he would soon be rid of her.
"When you return, pack your things," Edward said.
He slowly backed up when he felt a familiar chill touch his skin. A cold that had wrapped itself around him many times. The hairs on his arms stuck up and a panic arose in his body.
"Edward?" Sarah said.
He felt dizzy. He could hear something vibrating in his ears and, when he was able to find his balance, he heard a child's voice. Edward couldn't understand what the child was saying, only that a child was talking. Then, Edward looked to the doorway to the hallway and saw a tall figure without a face. Its head was cocked as it was fixed on Edward.
Sarah began screaming as Aaron was picked up by its long arm. It went face to face with Aaron and screamed, shattering the large window in the room. the curtains blew outside as the screeching continued and Edward hit on the other side of the bed.
"Help me..." He heard Aaron murmur.
The screaming stopped and Edward looked up to see that the Faceless had plunged a shard of glass into Aaron's stomach. Without any effort, it threw Aaron out of the bedroom window and looked to Edward and Sarah.
"We need to get out of here," Edward said quietly.
Her eyes were fixated on the Faceless.
"Edward?" She said, almost as if she was paralyzed.
Edward yanked her hand and jumped out of the window, next to Aaron. Small amounts of blood were dripping out of his mouth and he wasn't sure if it was from the beating he gave him or the shard of glass that was plunged deep into his stomach.
"Help me grab him," Edward said. But Sarah didn't move. She held her fingers to her mouth and trembled.
"Sarah?"
Her face went pale and Edward watched as the Faceless dragged her back into the house. There was not time to go back. Edward threw Aaron onto his shoulder and ran around the edge of the house back to the driveway. He looked around and saw several more of the Faceless emerge from the trees.
"This can't be real. This can't be real."
He thrusted open the car door and threw Aaron into the backseat. The Faceless slowly walked towards his car, while he struggled to get it to start.
Come on, come on, come on.
Was it the weather or was it the Faceless making it so cold? Hell, it was probably a mixture of both.
The engine blared to life as he pushed his foot to the accelerator as hard as he could without killing it. The Faceless all shrieked as he sped down the driveway and onto the highway. He looked back at Aaron who was groaning as he bled onto the seat. He had to get to a doctor, even if he had wanted the bastard to die.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His car skid on the ice as he sped down the highway at ninety miles an hour. He felt a cold sweat running down the side of his head. Every few seconds he would check his rear view mirror to see if the Faceless were somehow following him down the highway.
A mental picture of Faceless flying towards him on the highway brought a small grin to his face before he remembered the terror of them invading Aaron's home.
Edward looked back to see that Aaron was still alive but barely. His face was turning a pale white and blood was soaking against his right cheek.
"We'll be there soon," Edward said.
He thought back to Sarah. Was she still alive? Did the Faceless kidnap her? Did Edward actually care? He should have never married her in the first place. She had slept with so many men before finally getting married to Edward that it was a surprise she didn't cheat on him more throughout their marriage.
It didn't matter anymore. What mattered was getting her newest, half-dead, lover to the hospital and getting way from the Faceless.
But, little did Edward know, there was no escaping the Faceless. Not in these woods.
The wheel became icy to the touch and Edward knew that they found him. He closed his eyes and whispered a prayer to himself. When he open his eyes, a faceless man stood in the middle of the road. He veered off into the snowbank on the side of the road into a tree.
Then he wondered, was this the day he would die?
