“Oh,” Jase said, helping me into his apartment, “you got it?”
“Yeah,” I said then, still trying to walk normally. “Sorry.”
“You were bedridden for a month,” he said then, smiling. “No need to apologize.”
I smiled and nodded, and he guided me into his apartment, and into the bedroom.
Once he set me on the bed, I exhaled a sigh, trying to think straight. “Thanks for letting me stay the night.”
“You always have a place here,” he said. “Your mom’s selling the house, right?”
“Yeah. She’s moving more in the city... away from... what happened.”
“Then there’s no need to stay,” he said, settling on the bed beside me. “You can just chill with me.”
I was eighteen... and mom had this rule about being eighteen, that she didn’t care what the heck I did because I was an adult. But that I alwasy had a place with her if I needed it.
In fact... she constantly kept telling me “have you been thinking about a marrige”? And I kept telling her to stop.
High school ended, and I graduated... Don’t ask me how, but my ceremony was two weeks from now.
I passed all my classes with flying colors.
I secretly wondered if Jase had something to do with it, but didn’t say anything.
“Emma...” he whispered then, making me gaze up.
My brows drew together when he cupped my cheeks.
“My Emma...” he said desperately, tone dark with his expression. “I won’t let you out of my sight again.”
I parted my lips.
“I almost lost you...” he said, voice quiet with dispair, “I almost lost you!”
I felt my gaze soften.
“I can’t...” he whispered somberly. “I’ll never let it happen again. I’ll never hurt you again. I’ll never leave you again. I’m so sorry.”
I just smiled. “I love you.”
He just pulled me into a hug, making me suck in a breath.
But I just hugged him back, burying my face in his neck.
They say that you never knew how much you really loved someone... until you lost them.
Jase lost me, but he got me back again.
I guess we were both really lucky.
We were truely meant to be.
I held onto him tightly as something deep inside burned. “Jase... I want you. Can I have you now?”
He just pulled away, making me gaze up at him as his eyes softened. “You don’t have to ask, Emma.”
He just pulled me down onto the bed, and rolled over me, making my eyes glaze as I stared up at him.
“I’ve been craving you for too long...” he whispered seductively. “Are you ready now?”
“Yes...” I said then. “I want you now. Right now.”
A smile split his lips, and he lightly kissed my neck.
His hands ran along my sides, and I whimpered when they slid down and under me. “Try to be quiet,” he said darkly. “Or scream, I don’t care. Just no in between. And don’t hide you face either.” He sat up, lightly kissing my lips. “I want to see just how I make you feel.”

I had my legs wrapped around Jase’s waist as he walked to the shower and held me, and after turning it on, he took the blanket off me, exposing me completely.
I buried my face in his neck when he danced his fingers on my bare back.
“Sore?” he said.
I nodded, still feeling the leftover sting from his intrusion.
He chuckled, feeling the water. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” I whispered. “I didn’t think it was posssible for me to feel so blissful.”
“You’re about to get a nice bath, so get used to it.” He then opened the shower door fully, and carried me in.
I whimpered when the warm water rained onto my skin, and I kept my face into his neck.
He then sat on the floor, turning up the heat before he untangled me from him.
In return, he guided me to sit in his lap, cradled to him.
I smiled and set my head on his shoulder, sniffling as he ran his fingers through my hair.
The water warmed, melting into my bones and I eased into him.
“Emma...” he said gently, “can I ask you a very serious question...? And don’t laugh.”
“Hmm...?”
“Will you...” he hesitated, stroking my arm, “will you marry me?”
I froze immediately, gazing up at him in question.
The water rained over him, darkening his hair to ink and sliding down his cheeks and chin, covering his tan skin in a gloss.
I stared, hoping he was serious.
“I’m not messing with you,” he said gently, running his thumb along my cheek. “Remember what you said? Our love is chemical. I want you all to myself. Will you allow me to?”
A happy smile spread along my lips, and I hugged him. “Yes.”
He just wrapped his arms around me. “You won’t regret this. I’m going to make you the happiest girl in the world... and have you all to myself.”
“I’m yours already,” I whispered. “You stole my heart.”
“You stole mine, too,” he said. “And my soul. I am now eternally yours, Emma. All yours.
“And you are mine.”
