TWO YEARS LATER
“Emma...” mom said as I glanced over at her, “you ready?”
I nodded shyly, and she just held out her hand.
I took it immediately.
“Come on,” she said gently.
We walked out from the bridal room together, and I held my breath when I stepped out with her.
My long, black dress glittered under the sunlight and spread along the floors behind me... the purple flowers in my hair glittering like the stars in the night sky, my long braid spiraling around my neck and draping down my shoulder, covered entirely in glitter and flowers.
My dress also consisted of a clear fabric covered in black feather-like textures... resembling fallen angels.
And the vail on me... the one that draped down my back and spread among the floors.
Mom held my hand tightly when we stopped by the front of the doors.
They opened immediately, two butlers held the doors and bowed, offering me forward.
I stepped with my mom.
A song of beauty played itself on the speakers... a mixture of piano and cello.
As we made it to a long staircase, mom kept ahold of my hand as we stepped down it.
My dress slid on the ground behind me, the veil draping over it, as well.
I gazed up then, finding Jase looking up from the alter.
His eyes immediately widened when he saw me, and his jaw dropped.
I felt a smile split my face.
Everyone stood from their seats... my dad, my sister, and my high school friends... all of them cheering and clapping when I slowly stepped to the alter.
Jase watched me with amazement and happiness, eyes glistening when I made my way to the alter and stopped in front of him.
A smile found its way onto his face, and I could hear his voice enter my thoughts:
You look beautiful.

I never told my mom what really happened with Jase. His orignal plans, that he was an angel, everything that happened in high school.
She didn’t need to know... and I kind of liked living a second life with him.
“I thought your mom would be pissed with the black,” Jase said then, smiling down at me.
I knew he was referring to my wedding dress.
“She questioned it, but wanted me to be happy, so she gave in,” was my response.
We both sat at the “couple’s table” at our wedding reception. Right now, it was dinnertime, and he and I had giant feasts set in front of us.
He smiled and adjusted my hair over my shoulder, exposing the feather-like shapes on my dress. “Did you pick this out for me?”
“You and I are one now,” I told him, lips curling. “It’s time I accept your darkness.”
His smile grew, once more, revealing it’s familiar, dangerous nature.
“I’ve only seen your wings once,” I told him, setting my head on his shoulder as he threaded his fingers through mine. “They were the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. I’m obsessed with them now.”
He chuckled. “I’m obsessed with you now.”
“You’ve been obsessed with me since the beginning,” I shot back.
“Can you not say the same?”
“True...” I responded.
He pressed a kiss to my head. “I love you.”
“You have to take me for a fly sometime,” I told him, gazing up with a smile. “It sounds like fun.”
His eyes were soft.
“And then...” I responded, “I can patch up your back after.”
He just ran his fingers through my hair, making me close my eyes. “I might be fallen, but you are my angel, Emma.”
“I wonder if it’s against angel rules for a human and fallen to marry...” I whispered. “I can’t believe I didn’t ask you that before.”
“They used to have laws,” Jase responded. “But now—after the leader of the angels died—they got overtaken with a new asshole, but they care less about humans and demons, and more about themselves, now.”
“Bummer,” I said then. “I’m sorry you don’t remember anything about your childhood. Falling sounds horrible... and you didn’t deserve it, Jase.”
“I’m glad I fell,” he responded gently, “or else I wouldn’t have met you.”
A small smile split my lips, and I lightly kissed his shoulder.
“Are you not bothered with my curse...?” he asked me. “Ever since you woke from the hospital, you haven’t mentioned my lack of emotion.”
“You don’t have a lack of emotion,” I said to him, smiling, “you have the perfect about of emotion. The only issue you have is that you’re a little twisted.”
“Ouch,” he responded.
“Don’t feel offended,” I said, lifting my head and looking him in the eyes. “I like you twisted. I love you twisted. It’s hot.”
His dark smile formed on his lips. “We should change the song, you know.”
“Hmm?” My brows arched.
He just spoke up. “Hey, DJ!”
The man behind the speakers looked up, confused.
“Play a song for me!” Jase said. “Play ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ by Cobra Starship!”
I shoved his shoulder when the DJ nodded and looked through his phone.
“You asshole,” I laughed.
“I mean... am I wrong?” He lifted a brow.
I smirked. “No.”
“Then I don’t see your argument.”
“Oi!” my sister yelled from her table, making both of us gaze up.
She just raised her glass. “Kiss!”
“What?” I questioned. “But we kissed at the alter.”
The song in the background changed to Jase’s recommendation almost immediately, blasting it’s naughtiness through the room.
“Kiss!” Lizzy said.
Everyone piped up then, together in a chant as my cheeks heated. “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”
Jase just shifted toward me, and I looked at him.
His dark grin was back. “Better pucker up and give the audience what they want.”
I glared. “You’re enjoying this.”
“You look so cute when you’re embarassed.”
I just sighed and closed my eyes, and he leaned toward me, setting his lips on mine.
Everyone around us cheered, raising their glasses together.
He serparated from me then, looking deeply into my eyes.
I felt my cheeks flush as a burning sensation consumed me, and my lashes lowered as his lips remained inches from mine.
He just smirked. “Your aroused face is back.”
“Hide it,” I begged.
He just kissed me again, and everyone cheered in response.
When he pulled away, he just demanded quietly, “When we enter your hotel room, I want you on your knees.”
I just smiled. “Only if you buy me ice cream first.”
He just chuckled, kissing my forehead and bringing his face to my chest. “You and your ice cream.”
“Couppples daaaaaaance!” Lizzy hooted. “Let’s go! Now! Couple to the flooooooor.”
Jase sighed. “So demanding.”
“I’m going to trample you,” I told him. “RIP toy your feet. This is a bad idea.”
He just stood, holding out his hand as a small smile formed on his face. “Then I’ll lead.”
I stared at him, refusing to take his hand.
He smirked. “Scared?”
“No.”
“Liar.”
“I’m not scared.”
He wiggled his fingers. “Prove it.”
I stared down at his hand before I took it, and he pulled me up, making me yelp when he flipped me sideways and caught me, carrying me to the dance floor.
“YEAHHHHHHHHHH!” Lizzy called, cupping her hands over her mouth.
I just wrapped my arms around his neck, smiling as I set my head on his chest.
“Jase...” I whispered, “I have a joke.”
“Hmm?”
“I’ve fallen for you. Ehe.” I smirked.
He gave me an amused glance.
But as he carried me to the stage, I couldn’t help thinking...
I knew at the very beginning that my fate was sealed... the warmth that I felt in my heart when I first saw him... that moment I knew very well that I wouldn’t escape him ever, not even in my thoughts.
I truely had fallen for him... My fallen angel. Mine.
He truely was... my ultamite obsession.
