Just as the Kly disappears over the edge of the Hylyns, I hear the sound of horses and a group of riders comes over the ridge. I sigh, a part of me crushed that I have to go through with this. That I don't get the excuse that I got stood up.
"Right on time. As per usual, my leige." The preistess smiles, taking a mans jacket. I suppose the man is probably Tanner, given her adressing him as royalty. I give him a once over. Meh. Whatever. I don't have to even like the guy. It's a treaty marriage, not one filled with love. Just something to make sure war doesn't break out. To give my new family troops for the war being fought above us. Tanner scans my entourage slowly. When his eyes land on me he winks slyly, and without missing a beat, he sits down next to me.
"So I'm guessing you're the delicate little thing I'm gonna be tying the knot with then, right?" I stiffen, giving him an astonished look. He chuckles and I huff, turning away. "Hey. I'm sorry if I offended you, but you are, right?" I glance over at him, glaring. I nod and he pretends to wipe sweat off his forehead. "Oh good. I wasn't sure if I could marry one of those boys over there. I don't usually swing for their type." I snicker a little under my breath and Tanner's face lights up. "She laughs! It's a miracle. Come all Hylynders! Tis a sight to see! A magnificent sight! A story for the ages!" His gruff voice raises an octive in a pretend squeel as he tilts his head up and to the side, putting one shoulder forward like a fan girl. "Stop making a scene. Aren't you supposed to be next in line for the throne? Act like it!" He smirks at me, leaning over a little. I lean away, shifting awkwardly.
"Aren't we supposed to be getting married? Act like it." His gaze flickers down a little and I tumble off the stool, scrambling away from Tanner. He erupts in laughter. The gaurds tense at the sound and then relax, gazing in amusement at the future of the Hylyns and possibly the Alkina.
