Once we figure out where the food is, Emmy dives right in, grabbing almost everything. I put my hand on her shoulder, stopping her.
"Emmy, slow down. We have all night." She grins sheepishly up at me and I throw back my head, laughing.
"I know, I just... You know how it can be sometimes." I sober up, nodding.
"I know." I sigh. We stay quiet for a minute before she grabs a pastry and shoves it in front of my face.
"Have this one. You'll love it. Aunt Mary says the Diamonds she worked for love it so much they have it with almost every meal. It's Almond something or other." She pauses, thinking. "Almond pudding! That's it!" I nod, taking a bite. I close my eyes teasingly. When the taste hits my tongue my eyes snap open and Emmy smirks knowingly, handing me the rest.
"Emmy you have no idea how happy you have just made me."
"Oh, but I do." She laughs, grabbing another one for herself. "I remember the first time Aunt Mary brought some home. Before the accident, of course. She made me promise not to go telling everyone, so I didn't tell you about it, but I'm ecstatic that you can try it now." I shake my head at her. She jumps up and down, taking bites of the Almond Pudding. We stand there eating almond pudding for a while before returning to the dance floor. I wish this night didn't have to end.621Please respect copyright.PENANAIalAaSG5ki
