I turn around in the air as I continue falling, and just as I find a slightly more comfortable position to be in, a bright light shines below me and all I can see is blue. I quickly spin, making sure I land on my back rather that my face. I land on a plush surface and bounce. The hole in the ceiling I fell through closes up and the ceiling smooths over in a ripple.
The room I've just landed in is a deep blue, a Sapphire blue. I suck in a breath. Then I realize how absolutely fucking soft whatever it is I'm lying on is. I feel around, still on my back. I pull the first thing I can get a grip on up to my face. A cloth? No. Maybe a comforter? I let go and grab a smaller object. It's squishy and soft, probably a pillow. I lift it up in front of me, and drop it almost immediately. It hits me square in the face and I shake it off, scrambling off the bed in fright. It's in the shape of a Sapphire. In my haste to get away, I misjudged how long a drop it is to the floor and I hit the floor, butt first. Pain rings through my body like the pulse of a bass. A very painful one. I wince, stumbling to a standing position.
My feet are bare, and my shoes lie on the bed. They must have come off in the fall, when I was too busy screaming my head off to notice. My feet grip the soft carpet and I close my eyes, it feels like I'm walking on clouds. I laugh, opening my eyes. I think I'm mostly over the shock, but even so I take time to adjust rather than just diving in. I look down, and my white dress has turned sparkling blue, confirming my suspicions. My dress looks as if it's made of actual sapphires, and it's beautiful. I take a look around. Everything is blue. Blue and white. Well this is weird.
My entire life I've been surrounded by bronze, now my eyes are bombarded with this vibrant color I barely ever see. It's just... It's not unpleasant, it's nice, even, it's just... weird. I walk over to the blue vanity. I poke it. It doesn't do anything. Well, I'm not entirely sure what to do now. I don't think I've quite digested what's going on. I'm not even entirely sure it's actually happening.
I go back to the bed and put my heels back on. They're cute little things, and just like my dress and probably the rest of my assignment day outfit, it's turned a nice vibrant blue. There are four door icons. I go to the nearest one, tapping it, and the wall opens up, leading to a bathroom.
It's mostly black and irridecent baby blue, giving me a break from the onslaught of dark sapphire colored objects. I gasp, spotting a giant tub. It has holes in the side where it looks like there are some sort of metal contraptions in them. I rush over, my heals clicking as I go.
I lean over the side of the tub, and poke the metal things. I can only tell they're metal because they're shiny. They're painted black, to match the black of the tub, which is spotted with blue irridesent gems that seem to almost blend right in. It's marvelous, and I can't help but smile at the beauty of it all, but then I frown. My family will never see this. Or Charlie.
None of them will ever see it, but that really shouldn't matter. Or at least that's what I tell myself. I smell the different soaps in an attempt at distracting myself. I pick up a circular thing. The container it and others like it reside in has a label, and checking it, I find that it says 'bath bombs'. I almost drop it. Well why would anyone ever want to bomb themself? And in the tub? I'll never understand the higher classes. Or I guess my class, now?
This is going to take some getting used to. I stroll back out into what I assume is probably my room, and check the next door icon. It's locked, or possibly broken. Its highly unlikely that the door icon is broken, so I don’t try to poke around and see if there’s anything visibly wrong. I frown, a locked door makes me uneasy, but I leave it. I figure I'll check that one again later.
I go up to the next door, and this one opens up with no problems. It leads to what looks like a living room. I close the icon again, locking it. The final door opens up to a giant walk in closet. There's another door icon in here, which again leads to the living room. I lock that icon too. I search through the clothing, shoes, and accessories stockpiled in the room. There's so many options. It's like a clothing store, a huge one. Mostly in blue. I groan. I really hope that isn’t a requirement. I thought I’d seen Sapphires wear yellows and stuff before.
I take a black leather jacket and put it on. It’s freezing in here, and seeing as I don’t feel any urgent need to go anywhere anytime soon, this will have to do. I place my heels in an empty slot of the shoe rack, grabbing a pair of brown ankle boots. I zip them up slowly, wincing at the weird sound the zipper produces. Most of my shoes and clothes in Milyn had been button up and lace up. I never liked these zipper things. Charlie liked zippers a lot, but that was mostly a result of a deep hatred for Velcro and an inability to tie shoes properly.
I stroll back into my bedroom and go over to the vanity, opening up the different drawers. Makeup, jewelry, hair supplies, perfumes, different colored contacts, wigs? I go back to the makeup supply drawer, grabbing a particularly large hand held mirror. I weigh it, bouncing it up and down, testing it's heft. It'll do. I grab it with both hands, cautiously walking towards the locked door icon. I hear screaming, and then a thump. I raise the mirror, preparing to strike in the event that the door icon opens up and it's not a friend, but a foe.
