Enjoyy :)
Jai P.O.V.
We arrived to Choco's and ordered drinks and 2 sandwiches. After that we drove to the lake and set out a blanket that Sahana brought so we could have a tiny picnic.
In my mind, the perfect first date.
Sahana and I sat down on the red and white patterned cloth, each taking a sip out of our drinks.
"So, how was your day?" Sahana asked scooting closer.
"It was ok, just like any day. And Kai couldn't stop talking about Cassia," I laughed shaking my head, "How was yours?"
A sigh escaped Sahana, "The launch is literally in 2 weeks. Everyone in the building is nervous. But all I can do is keep my confidence and assurance that it will all be fine." She responded scratching her head.
I wrapped an arm around and side hugged her, "You and everyone else in the S.K. Beauty team are going to crush it. Just remember that there are tons and tons of people that believe in you." I smiled.
"Thank you." She grinned and laid her head on my shoulder as we gazed at the soft ripples of water in the lake.
"Oh!" Sahana suddenly realized something, breaking the silence, "I forgot I brought something else."
I looked in confusion wondering what it was.
Sahana reached into her bag and took out a pair of cards.
She smirked, "It's time."
"Oh, it's on."
We played various games, every single one you can think of.
Sahana and I have gotten more and more competitive as we play these games.
And sometimes it goes out of hand.
"SPEED!!!" Sahana exclaimed as she slammed down her last 2 cards onto one of the stacks, "AHA FINALLY!!"
I stared down at the pile in my hands, in extreme shock.
"You beat me."
"For the first time."
Sahana laid down on her back, pumping her fists up in the air. "Yes, yes, YESS!!" she did a roll backwards and stood up, dancing, "HAHA!!" She got a couple of looks at her but she didn't care.
I rolled my eyes, "Ok, ok enough of your glory next game."
Sahana nodded cracking her fingers and stretching her neck from side to side, "Hell yeah, next game. Prepare for a big ass whoopin Mr. Leonis."
She sat down cris cross, "Now we're getting serious."
Sahana then grabbed her hair and swirled it into a bun like it was nothing.
I stared in awe.
I missed the look of her in a bun, almost to the point where I forgot the sight.
She looks like a majestic queen.
Just without the crown.
She looked at me in confusion, "Uh, are you gonna deal the cards sir?"
Without a say, I leaned over and connected my lips with hers. I sat back down and acted like nothing happened as I separated the cards into two decks, "How do you expect me not to do anything when you're looking this gorgeous."
She stared at me, "Is that supposed to be a pre-distraction tactic? Because it definitely did NOT work."
I looked up at Sahana, trying to hide the smile that formed on her face.
"Ok here's your deck. Let's start."
Sahana nodded, trying to hide her smile that continued to grow wider.
We played until it started to get dark. The lights turned on around us.
Sahana's eyes lit up, "Oh it's so prettyy."
"Do you want to take a picture?" I asked.
She turned to me and rapidly nodded.
We got up and I told her where to go.
"Yeah, right here."
"Perfect."
She smiled and I took the photo. I nodded in approval.
Sahana looked up at the light and stared at it.
I quickly took another picture without her knowing and looked at it, "This one looks even better."
"How do they look?" Sahana came up and looked down at my phone.
Quickly I swiped to the left and showed the picture before, "I only took this one so far. Do you want me to take more?"
She shook her head, "No, one's enough for me. Let's take one together." She smiled.
We went to the spot she was at. I faced the camera at both of us. I smiled showing my pearly whites. Sahana had a close-lipped smiled and winked.
I took the photo and we both observed it, "Aww it looks cute," Sahana giggled, "Let's take another one."
I faced the camera at us and this time right before I clicked Sahana placed her lips on my cheek.
I looked at the photo and smiled, "I like this one more."
"I do too." she laughed.
"Do you still wanna play cards?" I asked.
"Hmm, I think I used up all my luck today with that one speed game."
I laughed, "Ok."
We walked back to where we were and sat down. We stared at the lake.
My eyes shifted to a family. The father was flying a kite with his daughter and the mother was hula hooping with her son.
I smiled at the sight.
"I want that one day too."
I turned to Sahana, surprised.
"With you." She grinned.
I smiled back.
My heart racing.
I then shifted my position and laid down on Sahana's lap.
We were like that in a peaceful silence for a while.
The breeze touched our faces.
I closed my eyes embracing it.
I felt her fingers run through my hair.
"You know," I spoke, "If it weren't for Ashley."
Suddenly she stopped.
I looked up at her, "I wouldn't have been able to confess to you."
"She was the one who urged me to do it."
"Oh," was all that came out from her.
I sighed, "At this point, those feelings and moments of heartbreak have left me. I won't ever see her the same. I don't plan on seeing her in my life ever again."
"But right now, I can say that I don't hate her anymore."
"And I think you shouldn't either."
Sahana stared down at me.
"Because all you're doing is having a place in your heart that's only filled with hatred and negativity, when it should be filled with the opposite."
I reached and grabbed her hand out of my hair.
Sahana nodded understanding.
"And you ask how I'm so strong. You've gone through just as bad." She shook her head in disappointment at herself, looking away from me.
I kissed her hand, "Hey, that just means we can be even stronger together."
Sahana turned back and gazed down at me.
I smiled at her, hoping she would say something.
Without any warning to pulled me into a hug.
She squeezed me tight.
I wrapped my arms around her.
"I really needed this today," she spoke, "Just you and me in this peace and quiet." A breath escaped her.
I rubbed her back, "Just you and me."
Sahana pulled out of the hug and cupped one side of my face with her hand.
She stayed silent and stared at me, smiling.
Then she raised her chin and kissed my forehead.
It felt like a mother's kiss.
A sudden feeling of warmth.
I held her hand, "You know, I've already told you about my family. You haven't told me much about yours yet."
"How are they like?"
Sahana grinned after hearing the question, "They're the best family I could ask for."
"My mom is like no other mother I know."
"She taught me how to be so independent."
"She was the one who told me to start a business."
"She taught me to never give up."
"She gave me the courage to achieve wonders."
"She's the first person I say good morning to, and she's the last person I say goodnight to."
"All the qualities you see in me, are because of her."
"I'm just another version of her."
"My dad is just the clown of the house. He brings the comedy, the happy tears, and overall good energy to our family. Without him, our family would not be complete. In some ways, you can see him as a male version of my mom, just a little less crazy." she laughed.
"And the last family member is my little brother, Rishi. He's about to graduate from NYU soon. I love being a big sister to him. We've both learned things from each other. He's just as mature and driven as me. Maybe even a little more, but I won't admit it to him." I smiled.
"After the kidnapping incident, at first things were not normal. I never spoke to anyone. My nightmares started. I woke up screaming in the middle of the night, waking everyone else up."
"Things were bad."
"But slowly, we found our way back to how it usually was in the house."
"I began talking more, opening up more."
"My dad began cracking more jokes here and there."
"And now, here we are. A somewhat normal family." She smiled looking at me, "I know they would love you. And the rest of your wonderful family."
"Except for my brother. You know how we're still not that close with him anymore." I sighed.
Sahana grabbed my chin and turned my face to meet hers.
"Hey, it's ok. Whether he's with you guys are not, that's his decision."
"I'm sure you guys had rumors and people talking about ya'll after it happened."
"But don't let your brother's choices get in the way of your family's image anymore."
"Instead, think about how you still have two other people that were and still are by your side."
"They've had your back for your entire life."
"Whatever troubles come, you all fight it together."
"But now, you got 4 other people added to the team."
She smiled, "And trust me, we aren't going anywhere."
