Jai P.O.V. (7:45 a.m. Sunday)
I smiled at Sahana before closing the door to my apartment and heavily breathed out as I leaned back against it.
My hands rubbed my face in frustration, "What in the actual fuck is wrong with you Jai?!"
I rubbed my arms and shoulders due to the soreness of sitting in that chair all night.
"That was not a good first interaction with her, was it? I bet she hates me."
"Then again, why was she treating me nicely? At first, she was terrifying. Then, this morning she suddenly offered to let me sleep on her couch. And even went to get blankets. But then before I left, she became cold again." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Man she is confusing." I sighed
"I have no idea what the hell I'm going to do, to make it up to her. Why did I even say that ughh." I threw my head back in annoyance as I regretted my actions.
I looked at the clock: 8:00
"And I have to get ready for work now. Great."
"Man, I wish I had Sundays off," I sighed buttoning up my shirt. "I could be giving you a walk Amiga," I said looking at her, "And then I could go out for breakfast and chill at a café." I smiled to myself.
Looking out to see the weather, by the gloominess I could tell I needed to layer a little. Just to check, I looked at my phone to see, "Ah, I was right. A little off though, I need to layer A LOT." I finished getting ready, got my keys, and a fluffy coat.
"Ok, Amiga I am heading out now! Be safe, don't rip anything apart again I won't be in the mood to cleannn, I love youuu," I kissed her forehead and closed my door.
"Shit, I'm getting late," I looked at my watch while exiting the local café, I always get breakfast from, Choco's. It's my go-to breakfast place if I don't have time to make some at home. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito accompanied by a hot, sweet brewed coffee. I rushed to my car, and felt my phone buzz several times, but ignored it.
It's probably something that isn't important right now, I thought.
I closed the door to my car, took a bite out of my burrito, and started driving.
To my luck, my car was brought to a halt by a devilish red light. I smacked my wheel, "Are you fucking serious right now?" I yelled at the light, "I don't have time for this right now. I have to go to workk."
I then noticed my phone hasn't stopped buzzing ever since I left the café. "Who the hell would be texting me right now?" I took it out of my pocket. Messages showed up constantly on my screen from, my best friend Kai.
I took a sip of my coffee
and almost spit it out as I read through all his messages.
Kai: DUDE WE DONT HAVE WORK TODAY
Kai: BOSS HAS SOME MATTERS TO FIX AND HAS TO TRAVEL TO INDONESIAA
Kai: ALSO MOST OF THE OTHER ASSISTANT MANAGERS ARE EITHER SICK, HAVE FAMILY MATTERS, OR ARE TRAVELING TOO
Kai: HOW COULE WE HAVE BEEN THIS LUCKY!!
Kai: IM SO FUCKING HAPPY
Kai: YOU KNOW IVE BEEN GETTING THESE DUMBASS BACK PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF THIS GODDAMN JOB AND NOW I CAN REST AHHH
Kai: DUDE ARE U THERE?
Kai: HEY U RNT DEAD RIGHT?
Kai: DUDE
Kai: JAI
Kai: DUUDDEE
My eyes widened. My mouth was wide open.
I was PISSED.
Pissed at myself for not reading the text messages earlier!?
"HONK!!" I heard behind me, "Oh shit, sorry!!" I put a hand up for the driver behind me to see. "You got to be kidding me," I sighed and chuckled running my fingers through my hair. I didn't want to turn back and drive all the way back to my apartment, so I just went to Kai's.
Once I reached there, I walked towards the elevator and pressed the up button. I waited a little bit and another person joined me in the waiting game. We exchanged smiles.
The woman was attractive, to say the least.
She was shorter than me but not too short. Well, she was wearing heels so I couldn't tell her actual height. Her hair flowed a little bit past her shoulders, with natural brown highlights. From her side profile, it didn't look like she wore much makeup, except for her bold lip.
The woman had a good style too.
A long, gray flannel coat covered her, which complimented the tight black turtleneck she wore, and some plain jeans, with tight knee-high-heeled boots. The glasses she wore, perfectly framed her face, as they rested on the bridge of her nose. Slowly going down and realizing it, she pushed them back to their rightful place.
Finally, the elevator door opened, and I was about to walk in before I saw that someone was in there.
My heart jumped when I realized who it was,
"Ash.."
My ex-girlfriend...
