Today I needed to take the pre-ACT 10 test, and other grades had e-learning.
My host mom’s class had one activity, she arrived at school at 3 am. Cool, so early, some of FCCLA members came to help also. I couldn’t, you know, I have tests.
You guys know I’m considering going to an American university, right? If you wanna apply for an American university by grade you can offer SAT or ACT grade, and pre-ACT just means ACT’s practice. But it’s 10 grade, I’m not really sure it’s as hard as real ACT or not.
After the test I just wanna say that science was soooo hard! I just couldn’t understand the vocabulary! Actually it just needed to see charts, if I could read faster and clearer I think it’s not hard. But I couldn’t, you know, my reading skills haven’t good enough. Reading was similar, but surprisingly it wasn’t as hard as science I felt.
English wasn’t very difficult, grammar just needed to know how to use punctuation, I hadn’t studied so I wasn’t sure, but if I study it won’t be a problem. The hardest part was the questions about the reading, so still because reading.
Math was super easy, taiwanese people can have full grade with no studying. The strange thing was that I could understand the vocabulary that I didn’t know when I readed the topics. I think it's because it’s too easy that I could guess what it wanna ask. By the way, we could use a calculator in the test.
The thing that surprised me was that all my classmates wrote fast. Even in math! I don’t know, maybe my reading speed is really too slow.
After the test I went to eat dinner with other exchange students. My IEC came to take me, the car included me had three girls. The situation was better than I thought, you just try to ask some questions to them for beginning, then they would try to make the topic continue. By the way, I really felt that other exchange students' social skills are great.
I have said that Nina(The French exchange student) knows five languages right? Actually I felt all Europe exchange students know lots of language, the girl from Sweden discussing Spanish with Spanish boy and girl very enthusiastic, I just thought, why you guys can discuss that?! The Spanish boy even learned a little Chinese (but simplified), he sang “little apple“ to me, wow oh.
I heard that the Swedish girl cooks everyday, and the Spanish boy also helped cook tonight. I really think I need to learn how to cook, but I just don’t know how to begin. I told it to my host mom, she said if I’m not begin I’ll never know it. So yeah, just try it, maybe next week, maybe next two weeks.
