Faithfulness
"Oh my God!" I yell spitting out my cereal. "What?" My wife asks me, clearly worried. "Oh, sorry honey. It was just something that randomly occurred to me." I proclaim in hopes that she believes that I am alright. She hugs me telling me "Everything is ok, so why don't you tell me about it." I proceed to explain my issue in the simplest way I can. "Back when I was in Afghanistan, they had a volunteer mission. It was to drive an up-armored vehicle down some roads to check for anti-personal mines. So that they explode the vehicle, and not the people on petrol." "Ok, then what?" She asks me concerned when she notices me staring into her eyes. “Honey, I was the one who volunteered to do it. Back then you know nothing scared me. It was shortly after that and before this mission could happen that I ended up in the hospital for my lungs." I proceeded to explain to her. She nods and gives me the gesture to continue. "Well, that was all back before I found god. My first question when I saw his light was; If he has a plan for everyone, then did he do this to me?" I say while motioning to my head about my current condition. "Then I remembered that someone told me that no, he didn't. It was Satan and God helped me to recover. So, then my brain started to go down a rabbit hole with this. It went to, he gave us freewill. We must choose to follow his path and not the evil one and I must have chosen wrong. Then my brain had to jump back to the memory of that mission. It must have been the wrong path. Maybe he altered it a little to keep me alive. He helped me to survive with minor damage that he doesn't even care about." I grab her hands and with a huge smile I yell "He saved me honey. He was faithful to me even when I had turned my back to him." We sit for a minute while remembering that my lungs had almost killed me but at the same time, that mission definitely would have. She hugs me and smiles while saying "He absolutely wants you to live so he has put a lot of work into you mister. So, in return, you should spread this story so that others may know of his love." We both bow our heads and say a prayer of thankfulness before she leaves for work. I then proceed to send a mass text to all my friends and family telling them about my morning and I am greeted with gratitude and congratulations. I decided to, after seeing how liked this was, to write it all down into a short story439Please respect copyright.PENANAGmV3BZ527l

This story is very, extremely, painfully true. But, even through everything, He was there. Open your eyes, keep the faith, and you will see our lord all throughout your life. He is called good for a reason
