Words are one thing that have been an issue. I never really liked talking and once my Anxiety was diagnosed, I learnt that having a fear of speaking was never really going to go away. Blogging is fun, because you have a handy laptop and a stack of books next to you and you have the power to type away for hours, creating endless posts and sharing your feelings to the world. I loved becoming a blogger at seventeen, when my FE College life was super stressful and the students didn't really care about inclusion.
In my three years of blogging, I've been lucky enough to connect with so many other writers and readers, from all walks of life and world places that I know look up to find out new facts about everyday. When someone blogs, they open up about the world around them. I don't just blog about reading books, I blog about my own personal writing, mental health updates and drinking caffeine-free tea. Yes, I drink a lot of tea. There are moments when blogging can get a little scary. I have doubts for a few weeks about what posts to write and upload. But I know, that taking a short break is OK. My blog isn't suddenly going to do a runner overnight.
My family worry about me blogging on mental health. I feel it's super important to create some sort of series about how I'm currently feeling. Blogging has given me the chance to say to my followers that I have Anxiety and Depression, there are feelings of hurt and anger that happen inside me that sometimes can be hard to control. However, I still wish everyone a really good day/night. I love to make sure that my readers are fine.
Writing wise, I've been writing since the age of four. It didn't really make a massive impact on my life until the age of twelve after my friend passed away. I never used to do well at handwriting or spelling. So, I'm happy for spell checkers on a computer. The point is, I've found some form of a coping tool that also helps to display my true voice. While some of my ex-friends and old classmates have turned to booze or late night drives, I like to get both of my cats close and write for hours.
It's always been a passion to help change someone's life with my writing. It would make me sleep a little better at night and a little happier in life too.
