Jai P.O.V
I opened the door to my apartment which was average-sized, but somehow spacious, and was welcomed by my partner in crime, Amiga. "Hey girl!" I smiled.
About two and a half years ago, I found Amiga in a park. She still had her dog tag on, so I just assumed she was lost. I called the number on it, and a person answered saying, the family had moved. On top of that, a couple that came to the park often, saw a man drop off a dog and leave.
Oh, so she had been abandoned, I thought, I wonder how long.
The poor dog was traumatized, I could see it in her eyes, fur all dirty and matted, and in need of someone.
After no amount of long thought, I decided fuck it and took her with me.
My apartment building allowed pets anyway, it was a win-win situation.
I had a really hard day at work today, being an investment banker, it's a job you really need to be dedicated to and give your all, so coming home to a walking bundle of joy on four legs, just washes all the stress and fatigue out of me.
When I was young, my family wasn't the wealthiest, but we weren't extremely poor. That doesn't mean we didn't struggle.
I was in a family of five, my dad passed away when I was young. He was a police officer/detective, and for the longest time I wanted to become the same thing, but that dream soon vanished. Now it's just me, my older sister, older brother, and mom.
We didn't have many problems financially as a family, because my mom was a chemist. She loved her job which was relieving, so she wasn't too stressed about work either.
Then what was the problem?
My brother.
He was dealing drugs to get money, so mom kicked him out of the house.
He still came often to ask for money and only money.
Not to ask if we were ok or how we were doing.
Just for money.
But I still love him, and always will.
So, then came the idea that if I became an investment banker, no one has to worry about money.
Even my brother.
Once I was done playing with Amiga, I headed to the kitchen. Every step I took, I could hear the grumble of my empty stomach.
Stop. I came to a halt. Before I feast, I need to cleanse this sweaty ass body, I thought as I pivoted my feet towards the bathroom.
In less than .2 seconds, I finished taking a shower. I. Wanted. No, I NEEDED. FOOOD. I sprinted to my kitchen and gathered all the ingredients I needed for my feast and began cooking away. "Put this, put this, add a dash of this, mmmm." I said to myself, while I smelled the delicious fumes of my creation, spreading all through my apartment.
I am half Indian and half Hispanic, with a little bit of Brazilian, so I can cook like a god. Tonight, I was doing Indian, so I made some mouth-watering garlic, rosemary naan with, malai kofta. I finished my dinner in an instant, but was still able to savor every bite. "AHHHH that was delicioso." I breathlessly said, patting my now, full stomach.
Amiga was finished with her dinner and we got ready for bed.
