A split personality
After the shameful event which happened during the private tuition, we never talked again. The other students looked at me oddly for a few classes but then everything came back to normal. While observing her behaviour during the lessons, I started to like her. She was kind with people. She always tried to support the people in need. It could be simple gestures like lending a pen or book to another student, helping others to understand tough materials or even cheering up classmates if they had been scold by the teacher. She was an all-rounder, like the "Mother Teresa" of our tuition. Nevertheless, when something made her angry, she would completely change. From angel mode, she would switch to devil mode. Indeed, she could not stand inequalities and mistreatments. When she noticed one, her anger was uncontrollable. She would just burst out of discontent until everything went the way she wanted.
Especially, I remember one day, when our teacher was in a really bad mood as she had some problems in her personal life. Usually, she was really kind but that day she suddenly started to scold Malika, a student, who corrected a mistake she had made on the board. She was not able to focus on the lecture and redirected her anger towards Malika. It was unfair but now, I understand even though I do not justify her behaviour. It is really hard to be able to draw a strict line between our personal and professional life. However, one has to be able to control his or her emotions so that passions are not unleashed at the wrong person. That day, our saviour got up from her chair. Her normally soothing voice got thick and she started shouting relentlessly at the teacher until blood came out of our ears. Her speech was so brilliant that the teacher was speechless. While talking, she stared directly into the eyes of the teacher without even blinking once. Finally, the astonished teacher apologised and stopped the class that day to take care of her personal hindrances.
I started to appreciate her double personality. She was a born leader with empathy but also extreme fury. Even though I did not like to come to the tuition at first, I started to enjoy them thanks to her presence. However, after a few months, I had to stop the classes. My parents could not afford extra lessons and my grades were not really getting better. During my last day of tuition, we were all sharing a feeling of sadness. We just knew each other for a few months but we all became close. As the location of the tuition was really far from my house, I knew that there was no chance I would meet them again. Nowadays, even students in secondary school have a mobile phone. However, at the time, we did not have that kind of facilities to keep in touch. With time, I slowly forgot her and the other friends of the tuition center. At first, I felt lonely as if there was a hole in my life but then I realized that the people we meet one day will not stay with us forever. As we meet new individuals, we also get separated from the ones we cared for: that it is the routine of life.
Empathy is necessary,
But also the will to act with fury,
In order to lead your country,
Those qualities are mandatory,
Life is a strife,
Separation is a part,
As well as pain in the heart,
People will still make you laugh,
