An abused wife
A woman was lying on the floor. She was chained and her hands were bleeding. She asked me to help her by mumbling words through her chapped lips. Tears were falling from her round eyes and were sliding on her pale skin. Somebody had beaten her, I could even see whip marks on her shoulder and on her neck.
While trying to see how to detach her, I asked who had chained her like this. She replied: "My... my hus...husband". Her speech was broken. She was cringing in fear of me. I tried to reassure her and explained that I was not here to harm her.
The chains were really strong and needed a key to be opened. I did not know what to do but I tried not to show it on my face. She was looking at me as if I was the only one who could help her. She was weak and had difficulties to breathe. I asked if she knew where was the key. She shook her head to make me understand that she did not.
A lot of questions sprang to my mind. Who is she? Why is she in such a condition? Why did her husband treat her like this? When I thought about her husband, I was angry. This person did not even treat her as a human being. I took my phone and dialled 999.
Before I could talk to the police, I felt a horrible pain on the back of my head. I looked back. There was a man. My vision was blurred but I was able to see his face. He took his hammer and hit me once more. I was on the floor. I lost consciousness.
