Gone like a butterfly
The summer holidays went slowly. But finally, we reached September. I was really happy that I was going to see her back. I still remember the last days before the start of school. I was so excited and eager to see her again. That day finally came. I reached school, thirty minutes in advance. It was a miracle as usually I was late and running like crazy to be accepted by the teacher. As soon as I entered, I tried to look for her. I met Ranveer. He told me that we were going to be in the same class. It was great but my focus was elsewhere. I looked everywhere but could not find her. I rushed to find her name on the enrolment lists. Her name was not written. I still had hope and went back to Ranveer to ask if he had seen her. He explained that according to one of her friends, she was no longer in our school. She moved to another town during the summer holidays. I could not believe it. I tried to ask if her previous friends had more information on her. My attempts to gather information on her were doomed to failure. During a few weeks, I still had hope that she would come back. I would carry on roaming in the corridors and wait at the entrance of our school. However, she was gone and probably never going to come back. This time, the pain was different. It was as if I had the happiness on hand and that I lost it. Like a butterfly that one could admire through the window and which disappears out of the range of one's vision, she was gone out of my life again. My mind was still filled with her memories. I slowly focused back on my studies. It was my last year in high school and my future was at stake. I wanted to see her again but it was all in the hands of the Lady Fate.
When the precious bird escapes from its cage,
Do not be sad,
Do not be mad,
Live with courage while waiting for its passage,
