As it nears early afternoon, Jocosa, Lola, and Marshel are huddled together in a heap of blankets near a cozy fire.
"So in conclusion, you found me in a forest and brought me here?" Jocosa tries to make sure she has all of the facts that are being relayed to her.
Lola nods whilst rubbing Jocosa's back, to make sure she is comfortable as all of them sit around the fire.
"Then you tried to attack us with my hunting knife," Marshel adds jokingly.
Jocosa immediately bows slightly toward Marshel, "I'm so sorry! Please try to understand that I was frightened and didn't know where I was!"
He laughs it off gently patting her shoulder, "I understand, there's nothing to apologize for. I was only joking."
Lola slightly sits up and speaks with a gentle tone, "Do you perhaps know what happened?"
Jocosa takes a minute to respond trying to recall something but ultimately comes up with nothing. "I don't remember anything. I-I can't recall anything. All I can seem to remember is my name and that's about it."
Lola and Marshel both share a look.
Marshel plasters a fake smile on his face and grabs Lola's arm forcefully, "Please excuse me and my sister for a second."
Lola stumbles over the blankets and sends a small smile toward Jocosa as she goes along with her brother.
"I knew we should've left her in that forest!" Marshel whispers roughly. Lola finds her face holding an appalled look before she slaps Marshel, "How dare you."
"You know I'm telling the truth," Marshel whispers as he rubs his cheek, "We don't know where she's from or who brought her here. I don't want that kind of trouble if you do have at it." And with that, he grabs his brown coat and heads off into the winter woods.272Please respect copyright.PENANAzjbSBBucAy
