The following Monday came by and i'm currently in gym class. I haven't exactly talked to Rei ever since I ditched him last weekend after what I heard from Fumi. It still runs through my mind every now and then. Fumi said that she noticed that Rei has been looking at me and talking to me differently and she doesn't like it, but I don't really see it. Me and Rei are just friends and I can't see him liking someone like me. I'm that foreign kid that can barely speak Japanese and has an eating disorder. Maybe Fumi is right. Maybe Rei is just pitying me because he thinks I have an eating disorder which I don't.
I sighed as I picked up a couple strands of the green grass. Remi was sitting next to me, not really doing anything either. I had promised Remi that I would make it up to him when I ditched him last weekend too, but he said there was no need.
"Oh, hey. Here comes Rei." Remi announced.
I looked up and saw Rei walking over to me and Remi then he sat down next to me on the grass and smiled.
"Hey." He greeted.
I smiled shyly. "Hi...."
"So...i'ma go talk to Saito." Remi said then stood up.
"Watch out for him. He's flirting with girls right now." Rei said.
Remi smiled then walked over to Saito and the couple girls that were with him. One of them was Fumi.
"Anyways, I was wondering if you had anything planned for after school today?" Rei questioned.
I looked at him and shook my head. "No. Why?"
Rei grinned. "Because you owe me for leaving me at the bowling ally last weekend."
"Oh..." I looked down. "Right."
"I was thinking that maybe we could hang out after school today?"
"And do what?" I asked.
"Maybe we can...go get something to eat and walk around?"
I looked at Rei and nodded. "Okay. Sounds good."
Rei smiled softly. "It's a date then."
I blinked my eyes then blushed a little. "A....a date?"
Rei nodded then ruffled my hair which caused me to blush more.
"O-okay...A date then..."

After school finally came and I felt more nervous than ever because i'm going out on a date with Rei. I still can't help, but to feel like maybe Rei is just being nice to me because he thinks I have an eating disorder. Maybe I should ask him if it's true, but...I kinda don't want to hear his answer. Part of me hopes that Rei actually does like me.
I met up with Rei at the shoe lockers downstairs and we both left the building together. We headed into town and went into this restaurant. We sat down at a table and chatted a bit while we ordered food and continued to chat until our food was brought to us. Rei immediately dug into his food while I just sat there.
All of a sudden, my stomach started to feel weird at the smell of the food. I glanced up at Rei and briefly watched him before looking back down at the food that was sitting right in front of me. Finally, Rei noticed that I wasn't eating.
"You're not eating?" He asked.
"I...I guess i'm not that hungry." I said, smiling nervously.
"Oh. Okay then." He said then went back to eating.
"A-actually, i'm gonna go to the bathroom. Be right back." I said then stood up and headed towards the bathroom in the back.
When I got into the bathroom, I immediately went over to the sink and turned it on then splashed cold water on my face as I felt my chest tighten and my stomach feel queasy. I was confused about why my body is acting like this just from looking and smelling the food.
Then, I started to feel tears roll down my face. I stood there, hovering over the sink when the restroom door's open and in came was Rei. I glanced over at him before quickly wiping away my tears.
"Arata, are you okay?" He asked.
I quickly nodded. "I'm...i'm okay. I'm just...a little dizzy." I said then felt my body dropping to the floor.
Rei rushed over to me and held me up then he wrapped his arms around me and stared down at me.
"You look a little pale." He said then gently touched my forehead with the back of his hand.
"You don't have a fever which is a good sign."
"I'm fine. Just help me stand up." I said then started to move.
Rei helped me stand up then we both left the bathroom together.

Me and Rei decided to end our lunch date a little early. I felt bad about making him pay for wasted food, but he said he didn't mind. My health was more important to him than a little food. It made me feel a little better to know that Rei actually cared.
The both of us started to walk around town. Rei grabbed onto my hand and smiled down at me. I felt myself blushing as I felt Rei's warm hand holding mine.
"What do you want to do now?" He asked.
"I...I kinda want to go home now." I said.
"Okay. I can walk you home if you want?"
I nodded.
We both headed over to my house and stood outside.
"Rei, i'm really sorry that this date wasn't exactly what you had in mind..."
Rei shook his head. "It's no problem. We can do this another time when you're feeling better." He said with a smile.
I smiled also then nodded. "I guess i'll see you tomorrow then..." I said then turned to walk into my house when Rei grabbed onto my wrist. I turned and looked at him.
"What is it?" I asked.
Rei then pulled out what looked like a friendship bracelet and he wrapped it around my wrist.
"A friendship bracelet?" I asked.
"It's not just any friendship bracelet." He said then showed me his wrist which had the same friendship bracelet.
"Yours say Kanagawa and mine says Tachibana." He said.
I blushed.
"This will show everybody that you're mine from now on~" He said then leaned forward and kissed me on my lips.
My eyes widen as I felt Rei's soft and warm lips pressed against mine. Then he pulled away, but only a couple inches.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"About what?" I asked.
"The kiss." He said.
"Oh...it's okay."
"Then how about this?" He said then kissed me again. He pulled away after a minute.
"It's...it's okay."
"Oh yeah? What about this?" He said then kissed me again.
"Um...it's good."
Rei smiled a flirty smile then he kissed me again. "How about now?"
"It's...better..."
Rei chuckled then kissed me one last time before pulling away and letting go of my wrist.
I blushed deeply then fiddled with my bracelet a little bit.
"Well...i'll see you tomorrow.." I said then turned on my heel and started to walk away.
"Arata." He called out.
I turned around and looked at him.
"Yeah?"
Rei smirked. "You're mine~ Remember that."
I nodded then started to walk again when Rei called out to me once more.
"Arataaa~" He cooed.
Suddenly, I felt my heart thump in my chest. To be honest, I really like it when Rei calls my name. It sounds so cute. I sighed then turned around to see what Rei wanted when he quickly walked up to me then cupped my face into his hands and kissed me again.
"See you tomorrow my little birdy~" He said then pulled away.
I giggled then said goodbye to him before heading inside my house. I sighed happily, glad that this date turned out to be alright at the end and now Rei is officially my boyfriend.
