The following weekend came by and I was out shopping with Persimmons again. Luckily the shop that i'm going to this time doesn't mind small animals as long as the owners keeps a good eye on them so the whole time I was shopping, I held Persimmons in my arms, but I could tell he was getting a bit restless because he started to squirm in my arms so that's when I knew I had to quickly pay for my stuff and leave before he started to create a ruckus.
It seemed like Persimmons could sense that I was about to leave because he jumped right out of my arms as soon as I opened up the door to the shop. I reached my arms out to grab him when I bumped into someone and fell to the ground.
"Sorry. Are you okay?" The familiar voice asked.
I looked up to see it was none other than Kenshi Hatake. I smiled then took his hand that he offered me and stood up.
"It's alright. It's my fault." I said then watched Kenshi pick up Persimmons.
Persimmons seemed to calm down once he was in Kenshi's arms.
"Where are you headed to?" Kenshi asked.
"My house." I said.
"Can I walk you home?" He asked with a smile.
I nodded. "Sure." I said then we both started to walk towards my house.
When we got there, I opened up the front door.
"You can come inside if you want." I said then walked into my house.
Kenshi followed after me and started looking around. "Nice place." He said.
I nodded as I walked over to the kitchen and set the grocery bag down then started to put the items away while Kenshi looked around my house. Finally, I turned around and saw Kenshi sitting on the couch in the living room, playing with Persimmons. I smiled then walked over and sat down next to him. I watched as Persimmons started to play with Kenshi's little tassel hairs.
"Persimmons seems to like you." I noted.
Kenshi nodded. "I know."
I sighed as I briefly looked around before looking back at Kenshi. A thought occurred to me.
"Hey, you wanna bake some cookies?" I asked.
"Cookies?" He repeated, looking at me.
I nodded then stood up. "Why not? It'll be fun~"
Kenshi grinned then he nodded and stood up also. He set Persimmons down on the couch before following me into the kitchen where we got started on making homemade cookies. Throughout the process, we were having fun goofing around while making them.
All of a sudden, Kenshi dabbed some cookie dough on my nose and grinned.
"Hey!" I shouted then pouted.
Kenshi chuckled then he leaned forward and licked off the cookie dough from my nose. It caused me to deeply blush and I quickly looked away. Kenshi chuckled some more before going back to work. We both managed to make the dough then started pouring the dough onto a pan before sliding it into the oven. We both took off our aprons and went back over to the couch to relax while the cookies baked.
While we were sitting on the couch, Persimmons jumped out of Kenshi's arms and ran straight into my room. Kenshi got up and followed after Persimmons. I got up also and followed after Kenshi.
"Wow. Nice room." Kenshi complimented as he looked around.
"Oh...Thanks." I said, blushing and rubbing the back of my neck. "It isn't anything special..."
Kenshi looked at me and smiled then he picked up Persimmons.
"Persimmons~" I cooed, holding out my arms so he can jump into my arms, but instead of jumping into my arms, he jumped onto my face and I started to fall back on my bed.
"Persimmons!" I shouted.
Kenshi reached out to grab me, but instead he fell right on top of me while Persimmons jumped away and sat on the floor. I looked up at Kenshi and noticed how close we were. Kenshi stared down at me, blushing. It was the first time I got to see him blushing. Normally, he's the one making people blush around him. Not the other way around.
I started to watch Kenshi move towards my face until our lips were just inches apart. I felt my heart pounding in my chest and my body going still. I didn't know what to do. I can't kiss him because i'm with Rei, but...Kenshi is becoming really tempting right now.
"K-Kenshi..." I breathed.
"Yes?" He whispered against my lips.
"I....We....Um...T-The Cookies..."
"What about them?" He asked.
"Er....M-maybe we should check on them."
"Didn't we just put them in the oven?" He asked.
"Y-Yes. B-but...um...Persimmons might be watching."
A chuckle bubbled from Kenshi's lips and it wasn't a chuckle that he normally does on a daily basis. It was more sexy and seductive. Then, Kenshi looked at me with those sexy bright purple eyes. I couldn't tell what he was thinking or what he wanted to do to me.
"K-Kenshi..." I started.
"Just once." He said.
"Huh?"
"Just once. Call me Shi-Kun."
I blinked my eyes in confusion then I slowly shook my head.
"K-Kenshi...um..."
Kenshi sighed then he slowly pulled away from me and got off of me. I sat up and looked at him, wondering if he was okay. I watched as he picked up Persimmons then walked out of my room. I sighed then stood up and followed after him.
We sat in silence on the couch for a minute or two before I decided to make conversation with him. Kenshi seemed a little irritated at first before he looked at me and smiled and that's when I knew that everything was gonna be alright. The cookies ended up being done minutes later and we both took it out of the oven. Though, I ended up burning myself in the process for trying to handle a hot pan. Kenshi did first aid on me and wrapped a bandage around my finger then kissed it.
"That'll make it heal faster." He said with a soft smile.
I smiled back then we both went back to tending with the cookies.
"You wanna take some home?" I asked.
"Really?" He asked.
I nodded then grabbed a plastic bag to put half of the cookies into it so Kenshi can take them home.
"Thanks for helping me." I said.
"It was no problem." He said, taking his cookie bag then walked over to the front door and slipped his shoes on.
"I should get home. I'll see you Monday." He said.
"Okay. Thanks for coming over." I said with a smile then watched Kenshi leave.
I went back into the kitchen and started cleaning up before my mom sees it. She doesn't like it when I make messes. Throughout the clean up, I couldn't stop thinking about Kenshi almost kissing me and wanting me to call him Shi-Kun. It made me blush.
