The rest of the week went by with the same usual crap and then the weekend finally came. I was so happy that the weekend was here because I really needed a break from dealing with all the rumors at school, but I was also gonna miss seeing Rei. After our first conversation together, we haven't really talked much since then, but I've noticed that Rei has been looking at me more than once and smiled that beautiful smile of his.
Today, I had planned to stay inside and just relax while watching tv, but then Remi suddenly called me.
"Hey, Arata, you wanna go bowling today?" He asked.
"B-bowling? I...I dunno..."
"C'mooon. It'll be fun~"
I sighed as I gently pet my orange tabby cat gently, thinking.
"I don't really have money so...." I started.
"No problem! I'll pay for the both of us. Now will you come?" He asked.
I smiled softly then shrugged. "Sure, but are you really okay with paying for me too?" I asked.
"Of course! I don't mind. How about we meet up in the plaza and then walk to the bowling ally from there?"
"Okay. That sounds good. See you then." I said then hung up.
I set my orange tabby down then jumped up and ran to my room. I wasn't sure what I was going to wear. I began to rummage through my closet of clothes when a thought occurred to me.
"It's just gonna be me and Remi. Why do I need to dress up?" I said to myself then pulled out a simple black t-shirt and some shorts.
"I guess this will be okay." I said then started to change into the clothes.
"Arata." My mom said as she entered the room.
"Oh. Where are you going?"
"I'm going to hang out with a friend from school." I said.
"Oh! You have a new friend now! That's great. I would love to meet him sometime."
I nodded. "Okay. I'll tell him."
My mom smiled at me. "Do you want some money?"
I pulled my shirt over my head then looked at her and shook my head.
"Remi said he'll pay for me."
"Well, that's nice of him, but I feel like you still need money. Wait and i'll give you some." She said then left my room.
I sighed then went back to getting ready. My mom came back into my room and handed me a couple bills and some change.
"You might get hungry or thirsty so use this." She said.
"Thank you, mom." I said then shoved the money into my pocket.
"Have fun with your friend." She said then left my bedroom.
I went up to my mirror and started to mess with my hair.
"Should I wear a hat or no? What do you think Persimmons?" I asked my cat.
All Persimmons did was yawn then curled up into a ball on my bed. I smiled then walked over to him and gently petted his head.
"If...If only Rei was coming..."

Me and Remi met up at the plaza and walked to the bowling ally. We both got our shoes and a lane then we started to change out of our street shoes and into bowling shoes.
"Hey, Remi!" Someone called out.
I looked up to see it was none other than Saito and Rei. Suddenly, my heart started to thump inside my chest. I looked over Rei and noticed how cute he looked in street clothes.
"Oh, Arata. I hope you don't mind that I invited them." Remi said.
I looked at him and smiled then shook my head. "It's no problem. The more the merrier right?"
Remi nodded then turned towards the guys.
"We also brought some people with us." Saito said.
A couple more people walked up to us. I didn't really know them, but I've seen them around school once or twice. I think their names are Fumiko Morika and Ichigo Itami.
"Alright! More people!" Remi cheered.
Suddenly, I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the people. Of course I didn't mind Rei and Saito coming, but they brought along two complete strangers. I wasn't so sure if I was up for bowling anymore. Remi must have noticed how uncomfortable I looked because he came over to me and sat next to me.
"Those two are good friends with Saito and Rei. There's nothing to be worried about okay?" Remi assured.
I looked at Remi and smiled at him, grateful that he cares so much about me.
"Alright! Let's pick our teams and play!" Remi shouted, cheerfully.
***
We all started to play with me and Remi being one team, Saito and Rei being the second team and Fumi and Ichigo being the third team. It was my turn to get up and bowl so I stood up and walked over to the bowling balls then picked one up and held it in my hands. I walked over to the lane then I quickly let the ball go, but ended up getting a gutter. I sighed as the tv showed a red X.
"Hey, Arata." Rei said as he walked up to me.
Rei picked up my bowling ball once it came back up then he handed it to me and stood right behind me. He held onto my arms.
"Do it like this. Swing your arm like a pendulum and let the ball go. Make sure you have a nice speed too because a slow ball would cause a gutter. Got it?" He said.
I looked at Rei, blushing. He was standing so close to me and it made me feel all nervous inside that he wanted to teach me how to bowl.
"Have you ever bowled before?" He asked, resting his hands on my shoulders.
I shook my head. "No. Never."
Rei smiled softly. "I'm going to have to take you out bowling then so we can sharpen your skills."
I blushed even more then smiled softly at Rei.
"Th-Thank you...."
"Hey! Are you gonna bowl or what? Don't keep us waiting!" Ichigo shouted.
"Yeah, Rei! Stop talking to Arata and let him bowl!" Saito shouted.
Rei sighed then turned to everybody and smiled. "Alright. Alright. I was just teaching him a little bowling trick." He said then turned back to me.
"Good luck~" He whispered softly into my ear before sitting back down.
I felt my heart thump in my chest more then I stood straight up and faced the lane. I did as Rei said. I swung my arm like a pendulum then I made sure the ball had speed before letting it go. I watched the bowl as it rolled down the lane and hit all the pins, causing a strike.
"Yeah! Good job, Arata!" Remi cheered.
I smiled shyly as I sat back down next to Remi.
"Great job, Arata." Rei said.
I giggled. "Th-thanks. I couldn't have done it without you, though..."
Rei grinned. "The pleasure is all mine~"
"Okay. Can you guys stop being all mushy so we can focus on the game?" Saito said.
I continued to giggle, feeling good about myself now.
